Got one of these aegis systems yesterday. Everything went well until it came to pairing the transmitter. I tried numerous times following the handbook and your video, but every time I pressed the pairing button on the base unit all the other led's turned yellow with flashing green on the pair/transmitter leds but nothing else happened. I started an email to dcc concepts asking for help but just before I hit send I thought I'd try one more time (just before midnight) and it worked! What a relief and yes today set it up again and it's still going.

I’m going down the HMDCC/HM7000 route with HM6010 for accessories. Happy with that on an iPad

Interesting web cast , just to correct a statement there are numerous systems in which the NCE powercab can be used with a WiFi module to run your layout using an iPad, iPhone or android phone. I use The NCE powercab with WiFi Trax WiFi module , using WiFi throttle or engine driver which can be loaded on your phone or iPad. This is more versatile as you can roam without any attachments to your body , and as it fits in the hand more user friendly that the NCE throttle . Full function of your trains accessories and considerably cheaper.

Hi Jenny, as an alternative I use JMRI on a computer with WIThrotle on my iPad which is totally wireless Other than the locket connecter from my digitrax controller to the computer which cost about £50 the other programme were completely free

Thanks for the rundown! I don’t use an NCE, but do use ESP for changing the points on our club N Gauge layout!
Wonder how much range you get with the handset?

This all sounds very complicated. If I try DCC it's definitely going to be via hm7000. I see why this new interface from Hornby is such a game changer

That curly cord between the controller and blue esp thing is that like the antenna to make it wire free ?

Something that’s been available for a while with alternative DCC systems like the ROCO Z21. Granted this is as you say for those that already use a power cab etc.

Does it have any advantages over a Digitrax radio-controlled system?

Does it work with another control system? Mine is the ANEMODEL LD101 rather than the NCE Powercab. It has identical connections, but would it work on the Aegis?

Interesting video Jenny but am afraid you lost me after a few minutes........ I looked at the TMC link for the ESP Ψ Aegis and saw the price was over £400.00.....
    Really enjoy your videos though!

It's not a cheap system, I'll grant you that. Still, it's a good choice if you want wireless control over a big layout.
