- In this video we will walk in more detail in the most popular place in Antalya, Old town - Kaleici. This place is a popular tourist attraction. Although many years ago it was the center of the city of Antalya and the main seaport. The name "Kaleici" translates to "inside the castle" in Turkish, reflecting the area's historical importance as a fortified city. The area is known for its narrow, winding streets and beautiful Ottoman-era architecture, including houses with traditional wooden balconies and red-tiled roofs. There are many different tourist and souvenir shops, a lot of hotels , restaurants and bars. In addition to the ancient architecture, here you can see many cafes of different cuisines and unusual design. There are also restaurants with a beautiful sea view. Many tourists walk here all day, but at night there are no less crowds and many night bars are open. This area also has administrative buildings, muzem, school, mosques , an Orthodox church and how it seemed to me even a residental buildings.
Kaleici is located near the observation tower and also has an observation deck with a beautiful view of the sea and the entire bay of Antalya. Below we can see the Mermeli beach, where at the end of April people are already swimming. Now we will go down and walk to the marına and old lighthouse. Here you can see many interesting ships and also choose from many excursions to see local attractions including boat trips.
I think Kaleichi is a great place both during the day and in the evening. In my opinion this is a great place to visit both from a historical point of view and for fun or shoping. Ofcourse here you can find many local shops and near Old Town you should visit Antalya Old bazar.
