    if there's somebody who can freaking explain so calmly and easily things , that's definitely you , love how calm you speak so everybody can understand (non native english talking people) , you ain't got no idea how much you have helped me so far by watching all your diy's videos , i got two 335xi and thanks of you ive been saving tons of thousands of dollars, , keep it like that dude! you're awesome.

      These silicone inlets are not being marketed as for 335i's anymore on your website, rather switched to aluminum 2", is this an update to the original silicone design or?

      @@bryanm6080 the silicon comes to close to the manifold and over time it becomes brittle and blows out. its an engineering design flaw of silicone outlets. the hot side of these engines near the turbos are just too hot , they will fail after a few years of heat cycles

    Excellent video, must watch before installing outlets. The key is removal of about 4 inches if not 5 on the forward turbo hose section, otherwise the hose will pinch off at the merge and the coolant reservoir will not fit. Thanks for putting this together, takes the guess work out.
    I opted to wrap the entire outlet assembly in cool tec heat reflective tape (good till 2k Fahrenheit), the hose sits in an area that is particularly heat soaked and face jagged edges at the first bend at the rear turbo, so hoping to protect the unit. Went back and checked the tape and hose right under the forward manifold (not much breathing room there) and found no evidence of burning material, material degradation etc. after 1 1-2 weeks of driving.

    You could take a piece of heat shield and create a 1/2 pipe type cover and mold it to the front turbo outlet pipe for better protection.
    I had to do that when I installed MMP 2” Outlets. MMP does not give you a curved coupler for the front turbo. Trust me, I wish they did. So, the 2” pipe basically touches the exhaust manifold on the front. I wrapped 80% of the outlet in the DEI gold tape and then cobbled a half pipe out of the heat shield I had to take off during installation and molded it to the curved portion of the outlet, on the front turbo.
    I temped the heat shield after a 45 min drive, and it only got up to 250 degrees while the exhaust manifold was 425. If you temp the part of the outlet with DEI tape vs the part of the outlet w/ out DEI tape, you will see a stark contrast in temp. Last, I put DEI tape on the underside of the curved portion of the rear outlet. This part of the outlet is only a few inches away from the Cats.

    I think the 5-series is a bit different, but I don’t recommend the silicone outlets. I’d do PSP, VRSF, or VTT’s aluminum upgraded outlets. I’m running upgraded turbos on 25+ psi and my turbos are ceramic coated. It gets so hot that even with the proper gaps, the silicone still melted. Waiting on my aluminum ones to show up. Hard to get aluminum ones for the 5 series WITH upgraded turbos.

    hey man you are truly an inspiration .. i love your videos and your taste is very on par with mine. I was just curious what kind of tune you are running? I have a stock e92 . had it since 25k now have 120k! havent done any mods but i'm looking to maximize my HP without adding tremendous amounts of stress to the motor ... I think you certainly are nailing that.

    I had mines for 3-4 yrs and just blow up right where u put the tape and by the rear turbos but I never put the tape so it might help it thinking going aluminum scared me with a loud bang thought I blow something up 😂

    With practice that fan shroud comes out in 5 seconds. Nice job on getting that sucker in there? Question, do you experience a noticeable diff with the bigger IC? Been thinking about that for a long while now :)

    I know this is an older video (Excellent job though!) but they are still selling these silicone Outlets but not with the Mounting hardware you have here. It's almost impossible to even see if anyone sells that hardware anymore. I guess the hard outlets are the only real good solution to the smaller outlets. SO do those that are selling the silicone outlets still expect that they will be mounted directly to the turbos?? Will that even work?

    Is that pipe for turbo coolant? I mean, does water circulate from turbo to intercooler thru this pipe? I have coolant leak on my n54 but don’t see any water leaks on any pipe anywhere. (This Alu pipe has bin welded and under the car is big water leak so I think it could be it).

    Just curious, I have the same inlets , intercooler, charge pipe elbows and charge pipe. Now I have a cracked radiator and it needs to be replaced. I would like to upgrade to a CFS but at 1.5” wider I do not think that it will fit. I already have a large Zip -tie keeping the front inlet off of the alternator pulley and belt. Your thoughts. Just go back with a new stock radiator with the crappy plastic arms? The Misimoto is not as wide but still wider than factory.

    You gotta do turbo’s eventually, I would think if the car is still operating on OEM turbos abs it’s over 180,000 miles

      Hey sorry for the late response, yeah they have been changed once. They should have around 60K on them total. They came off a car with 13K miles and they were installed at around 140K miles by the previous owner.

      My OEM turbos went out at 129,000km. 2008 BMW 335xi 392 6MT (all stock)

      you dont want silicone outlets they melt. get aluminum ones instead

    I just bought the aluminum one cause my silicon one tore how much different is the install with that one ? looks like a pain in the ass but I have no more boost so my car is on map 8 on JB4.Would you know if I have to reuse the aluminum adapter with the aluminum outlet ?

      Update I just installed the new outlets this took me all day there's no fucking room in the N54 engine bay.i didn't remove the fan shroud I was able to fit my hand and undo the coupler after removing the coolant bottle and vacuum canisters.But I couldn't for the life of me put on the rear vband clamp on the rear turbo. Ended Yuo getting help removed under belly tray/right wheel and held it in place while someone else tightened the clamp.What a disaster but it all worked out the aluminum pipe is much smaller in diameter compared to the silicone one I replaced it with. Now I don't have to worry about it melting or tearing.

    if u use this outlet with BIG 7.5'' like BMS FMIC , it'll make things bad. OUTLET go melt ,because it must be closed to the exhaust banana...

      Am changing the outlets and inlets right now and im putting in the metal ones that are hella hard to put in but theyre so much biggger then the oem ones.

      they increase hp a little bit but they mainly increase torque

    Dude, your videos are awesome and very detailed! I like them a lot! However, you seriously need an external mic. This video was good but made me frustrated because there were many times where I could faintly hear you talking (even with my volume at 100%) but could not understand you. Very detailed video but to many moments where I cant hear you.
