Had this issue, our solution was disconnecting the battery cables and touching the negative to positive cables to each other perhaps discharging the small capacitors inside the computer circuitry since that’s what controls the lock unlock feature and after reconnecting the battery it behaved normal again 😊
If the problem is water intrusion into the connector and subsequently corroding pins, I think you could clean and cycle the connector with Deoxit D5 Spray (rinse) and Deoxit D100L in the little brush bottle (treat the contacts), after treating with Deoxit D100L cycle (connect/disconnect) the connector a few times, you will feed the pins clean up and mate better. Then, after verifying proper operation, seal the connector wire entries on both the door and panel sides with Grote Ultra Seal to keep the water out. In my experience this should work and prevent water intrusion in the future.
Good information thank you. Water intrusion has been problematic on these door harnesses and the wires turn green and crusty quite often as well. Thanks for the comment!
I did not replace the switch on this one. I replaced both parts of the main door harness. The main door connector is also really common for water stains causing trouble. Thanks.
It could be water intrusion in the switch or wiring harness similar to the video. I would diagnose it in the same way by starting with looking at the schematic and then viewing scan tool data to see if any switches were being activated or not. Thanks for commenting.
You can bet it's the door wiring harness , the wires break where they flex inside the boot every time the door is opened and closed . It's easy to tell that's the problem sense there are absolutely no harnesses available in the U.S. . I pulled mine out untaped the wires from the boot , slid it back and the only two 12 gauge wires there out of about 20 16 gauge were the culprits they had turned into hardwires and wouldn't flex . One black wire was into and the red with tracer about into . Cut about 5" out of each and spliced more flexible wire in and now all is fine after reinstall .
Thanks for uploading this life saving video, after some rain last night leaving the windows open my GM is going bunkers with the power locks
You are welcome. Thank you for watching.
Where do I find the part number and were to get

My 2017 seierra is doing it rn
Have you done a video with you changing out the harnesses?
I’ve seen this a handful of times now, so might be worth checking out. Thank you.
I have not done a video of the harness replacement. Maybe next time.
It is fairly easy to do, though so it shouldn’t be too bad. Thank you.
Did you replace the switch also? I replaced the main wiring harness but still have the problem. I thought the harness was bad at the hinge.

Thank you, I was ready to give up until I saw your video. I will try to replace the cable from the main wiring harness to the switch.
Any way on how to fix it? My silverado is doing the same thing causing my battery to drain.
Check the main door harness connectors for signs of water intrusion. That seems to be the most common problem.
Thank you for commenting.
I'll try that out thanks for the reply.
@@agugabri14 no problem!
How much to fix a problem like this
Rough guess probably about $500.
Thanks.
My truck mirrors fold and doors lock while I’m driving. Any clues what can cause that?

Turned out it was the key fob that went bad
@@arturocervantes3738 thanks for the update. Have a Happy New Year!
