HORRIBLE NINJUTSU ARMLOCK, THE DEVIL CRUSHER - Oni Kudaki WITH Yossi Sheriff - AKBAN NINJUTSU

  • The Oni Kudaki (demon crusher) Ninjutsu armlock is not so simple to do in sparring. Here I dismantle the footwork and hone small details that make this explosive technique highly effective.

      Stress testing shoulder locks in a sparring situation is not a great idea, the reason Aikido is so compliant is that, resistance increases the risk of injury greatly.

    I have practiced submission wrestling for 18 years. I can see how this would work with the opponents hand around your head/neck from some distance as long as he is not white knuckling it - or at the moment of his relaxation- , if you float the first hand up and bait as if you are trying to push away his grabbing hand, and then committing to the lock.

    It only works on a attacker that are 5'6" and the defender is 6'2"
    If it's the other way around it wouldn't work on a 6'2" attacker.
    If equally match...fight him.
    If not...retreat.

    How do you protect from strike to right ear when you start the arm lock?

    • @josephmalone253
      @josephmalone253 Рік тому

      You mean like a left hook when Tori is entering? At close range striking is ineffective. Tori changes distance from striking range to grappling range. That's about it.
      To elaborate he moves fast. Once he the applies the lock he is safe from a strike but left hand may attempt a grab or choke. He moves in quick, applies lock, then moves out quick. To switch thinking from strike to grapple to strike is too much for uke to process. The windows of opportunity are missed.

    • @gwozdz85
      @gwozdz85 Рік тому

      @@josephmalone253 Yes - just before step 2 (2:06 in the video) when Mr. Seriff is closing distance. Seems natural to strike when oponent is closing distance. Will need to check it in practice during sparring. thanks for explanation!
