Openings Mean Nothing Without Endgames

  • The rapid rating climb series returns with episode 55 featuring a Caro Kann from my opponent where I play the 2 knights attack incredibly successfully. The opening is absolutely brilliant with incredible pressure against a shattered Caro Kann structure but my opponent defends the opening incredibly well and takes me into an endgame that goes, well, subpar.

Glad to see rapid rating climb back :) I find it bit funny that you hate the London (same here) but advocate to play another more or less system opening with c3/c6.

this two knights line against the caro is very tricky. i think if black is not properly prepared they can get into a lot of trouble.

Yeh it's very tough to deal with whether black goes for Bf5, Nd7 or Nf6

Openings mean everything...lol. Black playing the CK should know 4...Bf5 is a mistake. After 3...dxe4 4.Nxe4 then 4...Nf6 is basically the only move. Published works on the opening are good as a guide but ultimately theory changes so databases need to be consulted.

Although actually endgames are the most important phase of the game.

Your opponent was like, " HAcker HacKer "
And you were like, "Bro demolishes plyers with caro kann & bro also demolishes players who play caro kann "🗿
