      @RAHfishing  3 роки тому

      @@RAHfishing Maybe that style was invented for the older style crimps that weren't as good?

    • @RAHfishing
      @RAHfishing  3 роки тому

      Possibly. Not sure.

      Honestly any tackle shop. But you could also buy a mixed pack from amazon. Probably be cheapest. 🤙

    Nick i caught my first ahi and aku this weekend out of waianae! Total of 6 strike.
    -Question one of those strikes where i lost the fish it shredded my skirt and cut my hook off. Do tunas tear gear up or could that have been an ono?

    • @RAHfishing
      @RAHfishing  5 років тому +1

      Good going. That’s guarantee Ono. If it’s ahi you see perfect spaces scratch marks. Marlin is going to look like you scrubbed the lure with sand paper. 🤙

    Hey so I only fish from shore and the biggest line I use is 200lb when slideing. I only tie knots. Is there a big advantage of crimps over knots?

    • @RAHfishing
      @RAHfishing  5 років тому +1

      A lot cleaner look to it. 🤙

      Not to make like I know more but from my experience of fishing I lost more fish with crimps because crimps and Edge and sharp edges Cuts lines I can perfectly thigh 200 pound to 300 pound test line and still be very neat about it I'm speaking 4 on shore fishing only... because I don't know if it makes a difference when fishing off of a boat catching tuna Ono or big fat Aku I'm only speaking for Ulua fishing

      Me too,when Ulua fishing,always using knots,Bemini,albright and basic clinch at swivel ,,trolling you want the play in the hook as well as the snap swivel end, not to be stricken with any knot that can kink and distort the action of the leader and lure.

    Good video Nick! I have always heard the bench crumpets give the best crimps but I’ve never tried one.

    Awesome vid man. Personally I burn my ends because I once forgot to crimp my stop ring while ulua fishing, ended up catching an omilu on that pole and while taking off the slide rig I noticed my mistake. Luckily it was burnt, my bro in law and I just looked at each other in amazement. Fkn dogshit lol

      Haha awesome. Thats exactly why it should be burned. 🤙
