Hi there, me again, once again enjoy the videos. I too had a bigger boat with an Etec 150 HO. As I have previously stated never let me down. Travelled to the shelf and back on numerous occasions in various weather conditions out of Portland I sold this boat and-was looking at downsizing. To a 460 CC with a 75 merc. This is what happens when you get older🤔. What I found with my old boat that had trim tabs fitted, when it was choppy I would trim the bow down to allow the entry point to do its job? I am wondering whether you think trim tabs would be useful to stop that bow flopping to be more controlled. Your thoughts please. Regards Jeff
Hi Jeff, trim tabs will always give you better control and probably even better in an sc than a cc for the leveling benefit but a permatrim ( not that I would ever have one) will also give you much better trim control. To me they are fair weather boats so I wouldn’t be bothered. Very capable for their size but i am very aware of the limitations! Thats my thoughts anyway, good luck!
Enjoyed the video waiting on picking up my Renegade in February. Calm day at the rip, I’ve also had an ETec, couldn’t fault it. Cheers
I reckon you will love it. Yeah most people that criticise Etecs have never owned one! Good luck with the new boat 👍
