From my experience in 1/8 car racing I found oversizing my motors and much lower kv rating, then gearing it up to compensate target rpm. My 4292 motor size at 1100kv on 4s battery with large pinion results in much better efficiency, cooler temps and longer run time on the same battery

Excellent - just what I was looking for - one question though - where did you look up the rpm range from. I run 1/12 scale pan cars but never seen anything about rpm ranges. Thanks

Often times it comes from experience, understanding similar power systems others are running. Knowing the speed that you are targeting also helps with RPM range required to get there.

Hello, recently I broke a 2300 Kv edf ducted fan, and I am thinking of reusing the motor with a propeller for a plane. Is it possible or it will underperform severely? Thanks in advance.

What Kv motor and amp would you suggest for a traxxas 2wd rustler with 90t and 48p gearing (I’m getting a combo motor and esc so don’t worry about overloading the esc)

Hi thanks for your great work. How could I know how much load that i can place on the power system? And how could I know the RPM range that I need in my application? I am planning to equip the brushless motor with propoller and produce thrust force to push the robot car on the wall.

And what if I can't locate any spec information? Example art-tech falcon 3d heli. With motor B20/10T part number H3D043

If you own this motor, you can measure all specs. Videos to do this are on this channel

Hi Andy, what were you looking to do to go faster? Guys have replaced components in the hull but that adds up ($$$) very quickly.

Since brushless motors usually have high rpm. How can I use for slow speed boat?

You can use an Outrunner with a low Kv

Maybe you should start the video by actually explaining, what kV is.
