Still loving this musical / lyrical masterpiece around Christmas time in 2023... this song will NEVER get old to me...thank you, Lord , for great music.
I'm 19 years old, parents raised me on the good music not the crap today. Whiteheart is an outstanding band! 70s 80s 90s love it!! such an wonderful song so emotional.
It's so great to see comments of people recently discovering this music. Been listening to Christian music since the early 80s. Whiteheart will be timeless
This came out in '93. I'll be the first to admit, when it comes to Christian music, to this day I'm "stuck in the 90's"! The entire decade had IMO the greatest variety of GREAT Christian hits!
After giving this a fresh listen, I realized how much I like the bass part on this. That coupled with the acoustic guitar really knocks it out of the park. There is just so much to like about this song. I think it's one of their all-time best.
Whiteheart Highlands and this album is woven into my being. I listened to Highlands on repeat for like, 10 years. I am no longer a christian, but this music gives me such peace.
@@wdoyle73 If you gave your life to Christ, he won't just give it back. Salvation doesn't work like that my friend. If you are born again, you accepted the Holy Spirit. Now, if you were not truly a Child in Christ, then this makes sense but dont ever think Jesus will give up on you even if you lost your way. He is always waiting as long as you are alive, he is waiting for you my friend.
Back in the day my Sunday school teacher had a Christian music video compilation VHS. and this video was on it. I fell in love with this song. This is a great band with great music.
@@arniecardona3766 This is from 92.. I remember hearing Whiteheart perform this song and many of their songs from Tales of Wonder at The Billy Graham Crusade Youth Rally back in 93.
I can't hit reply, so frustrating! Anyway, yes, the music was wonderful in the 80s and some early 1990s. I don't even know what is out there now, it all sounds the same to me! But wow, WhiteHeart was good. They still are, i mean, look at all of the videos & people just loving them still. YT is so great for this because a lot of what we had on cassette back then just isn't for sale anywhere - no CDs or MP3 downloads anywhere. I am so grateful to everyone who posts these, thank you so much!
Having seen them on 3 or 4 tours,White Heart never failed to uplift my spirits! I worked security for Atl.Fest,so i got to meet all kinds of bands! Those were the days...
This morning the chorus of this song was lingering in my mind. Glad that this tune still ministers to me 30 years after first hearing it on the local Christian music radio station.
Christian radio stations today need to start playing this and other great classic Christian music from the 80s and 90s. So much of their playlists now all sound the same. People listening to stations today who didn't grow up with exposure to great bands like Whiteheart, Petra, Servant, and so many others of that era have NO idea of the great music that they are missing out on.
Juliewolf, I agree with you with both, nostalgic and a relevant message. Whiteheart spoke to many people at the time. God uses whoever he wants to speak to as many people he wants to reach. So whiteheart was and still is relevant for anyone to listen
Florian graduated from Taylor University in Upland, IN about 1 year before I got there myself. I saw Whiteheart perform at Taylor and they were a great live band.
I saw them in concert in 88 or 89 at a local church. Got to sing No Apology with the band. Such an awesome time. They are still one of my favorite bands.
White heart Rachel Rachel JC crew tour was on point specially when you’re able to be there the whole ride thank you guys for including such a young group in your mix for that great tour John Dino mastodon cornerstone we rocked peace out Kenny D from JC crew
this song has great sentimental value for me. the first time I ever asked a woman for a dance, this was the song we danced to .... it was at a valentine's dance sponsored by my university's chapter of Campus Crusade for Christ, in 1994.
I was listening to Desert Rose when word came a friend's son had died in an auto accident. He was in 4th grade, so was my girl. That was 24 years ago... still comforts me.I would have put this in the Desert Rose song, but comments there are disabled.
B A Blumenthal my all time favorite Whiteheart song. Saw them in concert in Tallahassee Fl in the late 80s first time I heard Desert Rose and loved it since. Sorry for the loss also
Blythe Be I have to totally agree with you. Not only was the music good but I felt like I was being taught and affirmed in my faith at the same time. The songs at church no longer seem sacred and set apart for worship and yes, hearing them over and over again on the radio has really taken a lot of the joy out of them. I like listening to online Christian radio stations which still play Petra, White Heart, and other classic bands.
Had to listen to this one again to get my fix from it. The vocal effect with long delay just really works well, and the lush keyboard textures help transport me to an alternate reality, the one that juliewolff777 was reminiscing about, I think.
Its ashamed the generation of young people now have no serious good music to listen to! I still crank these guys up while driving...giving the rappers a run for their money. Just my opinion, but these guys are still the best!
Whiteheart definitely my ATF Christian band. Grew up listening to them in college at Taylor University in Indiana. I was not a Christian when I got to Taylor and was introduced to Christian music there.
i'm sort of what you call an old rocker now a days. into the christian music from the 70s 80s to early to mid 90s. not really into today's music that much. like white heart Petra etc.
Hey I greatly agree with you brothers. Do you by chance have one for "Say the Word"? Would love to hear it. Once again, TY for your persistence in giving us great memories and good music.
@juliewolff777 no. I miss it too. I was just a kid at the time. I grew up more during the 90's, I continued to listen to 80's music. never got tired of it.
@juliewolff777 No, you are not just being nostalgic at all. I miss those days too. Such great music with great messages. Not to belittle today's artists, though. I just grew up in Christ so much with the "old school" playing in the background of my life.
@juliewolff777 I think that old music has a lot more meaning than all this new junk they are spewing out of the media, because the older stuff, for one, seemed to have more feeling, and two, I like how they are based upon, and include even, bible scriptures. Simply amazing.
YT still threatens to remove these videos claiming copyright infringement, even if the artist doesn't claim infringement. So basically, as Christians, it is our responsibility to pray for (yes PRAY FOR) YT to leave these videos alone. God honors those who honor Him.
back then i had a cd player....but would still buy tapes.....cause they were cheaper....for 20 bucks i could get 1 15 dollar cd....or 2 10 dollar tapes.....2 is better then one!!!
@juliewolff777 Something definitely has changed. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe when all the secular companies started buying out the old standard recording companies, i.e. Myrrh, StarSong, Sparrow, Word etc. - maybe that was it. If Christian music is played for money, rather than for the Gospel, it's not going to be the same.
This is my comfort song. I just discovered Whiteheart about a year ago and I've been so inspired. And just look at how much fun they're having.
Still loving this musical / lyrical masterpiece around Christmas time in 2023... this song will NEVER get old to me...thank you, Lord , for great music.

Classic! White Heart's sound holds up even to this day. Christian music isn't the same these days.
True!
, Agreed

Yep ✨

The 80's were the greatest, but God's not finished yet!
AMEN! Make no mistake!
I'm 5 years late, but your comment made me smile.
I'm 29 this album reminds me of my childhood. Definitely the greatest Christian band ever they were game changers
Loved this song 30 years ago and still love it today!!
Rick Florian is severely underrated.
Perhaps here on earth, but not in Heavenly realms.
Christian baby boomers going through our mid life crises appreciate great music from our glory days
Agreed man!
Ricky Bloom. oh ya can't beat this 80s Christian tunes...Gotta love it.
And Christian Gen Xers who are now middle aged.

Listening in April 2019 and remains a beautiful and inspiring song.

This song like several others has become my prayer. This is me!
I have never heard this White Heart song, I like it! Fabulous harmony.
This was my first Whiteheart album. I got it just two years ago from my Spanish teacher. And I fell in love with Whiteheart
I was 12 when I met the Band White Heart. I wrote that poem which inspired this incredible song.
