Saw them many times. One the best live bands I've ever seen. A couple of those times were at the Magic Kingdom at Disney World. All I can say is Bye-bye Babylon with pyro and flame throwers!!! Wow.
They were regulars at JNW in the mid 80s to mid 90s - they usually headlined one of the nights by the time 1990 rolled around. My buddy Ryan and I watched Crimson Tide at the Laurelhurst theatre on a Saturday in Portland,OR with Billy Smiley back in 1995... they were taking a break over the weekend after they did a Thursday night show at JNW that year. It was odd running into him at the Laurelhurst on a Saturday afternoon but he was a super nice guy... and he was more than happy to talk shop with us. Best wishes! 👍🏻✌🏻🇺🇸🙏🏻✝️ - Max Giganteum
Nice presentation! My first and only time to see WhiteHeart was in 1990 during the Powerhouse tour. They did not disappoint. I felt that WH had a great string of albums, beginning with 89's Freedom through 93's Highlands. Inside and Redemption were also very solid efforts.
Dann Huff and his brother David were gone after the Hotline album in 1985... thus you wouldn't see either of them in this video. Lead guitar starting with Don't Wait For The Movie (1986) was shared by Gordon Kennedy and Billy Smiley... that duo lasted through the Freedom album in 1989. Brian Wooten took Kennedy's place starting on Powerhouse in 1990 and went on through Inside in 1995. The last album they did as I recall was Redemption in 1997 but it was done only by Smiley, Florian and Gersmehl. If you want a more in-depth view of the band, Wiki is your friend. Best wishes! 👍🏻🎸🎹👨🏻🎤🎼🎙️🥁 - Max Giganteum
PS Yes, the Huff brothers did form Giant starting with 1989s Last of the Runaways followed by Time to Burn in 1992. Both went on to session and production work after that though Giant isn't completely dead yet... see Giant III (2001), Promise Land (2010) and Shifting Time (2022).
To this day I believe Freedom is the best Christian Rock album ever made. I was only able to see them once, on the Tales of Wonder tour. Unfortunately the space didn't do them justice acoustically, but they played great nonetheless
I'm pretty sure that was John Thorn on the first two, and Anthony Sallee on the last two. Gary Lunn was replaced by Tommy Simms in 1986. Then it was Anthony Sallee, followed by John Thorn.
Great lineup
These guys rocked! So good!
Such a great band! I got to see them perform live only once back in 1993 or 94. And they’re songs are so well written and impactful

Working at Atlanta Fest '88-94 and saw them on Freedom,TOW and Highlands tours.
I saw them so many times in the 90's!

I played in a band that covered "Invitation" back in the late 80s.
Brian rocks on guitar 🎸
Por Dios como amo a esta banda. Como me ha influenciado
Incrível
I think that’s Dann Huff on guitar. Later went to co form Giant (I’ll See You In My Dreams)
Of course, that's him.
On Powerhouse, that's Brian Wooten. Dann Huff had been gone for several years by this time.

Huff left in the mid 80s
Billy Smiley went to Azusa Pacific University!!!!

Anthony Salee is on bass
I saw John thorn on bass on the 2nd song. Sing your freedom

I am a H UUUU GE fan of these guys.
One thing I just don't understand. Why a mosh pit at a Christian concert?
