The real magic here is how is Dan able to see anything through his bangs 😂
The real magic is friends we made along the way
He keeps tilting his head back, so there’s no magic in this!
Yeah, what a dumb hairstyle.
@@paulolsen602 omg he does. Lol 😂😂
Maybe hiding his eyes helps with the trickery?
I think one of my favourite things is Jamie's increasingly blatant and confident gibberish... followed by his offer to show the boys his "magic pickle"
Magic Pickle 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
@@SortedFood 😂😂😂
If I ever heard the words “magic pickle” come out of someone’s mouth I don’t think I would ever have enough time to prepare for all the possible eventualities that might occur 😂😂 it could be something as innocent as a literal pickle but also something as sinister as far as your imagination dares to go 😂😂
Ebbers is having the time of his life. He's like a child at a candy shop. Just unbridled joy
You know it!
well of course,,,Ben love something with deep blue veins!!!
Of course he knows silk tricks
It's lovely to see! I know that I enjoyed this as well!
At this point, you guys need to do a video featuring Kush and all the other cast and crew. Need a normals battle where the food is judged by all the cast and crew. The three have to cook a full course meal for the Sorted team, sorta like those MasterChef challenges where they have to feed guests
The food team don’t want to be featured on camera that’s why they’re never on
Food team could be in costumes though so they wont be recognisable if they dont want to be
@@zzskyninjazz1821 ohhh. Really didn't realise that. That makes more sense.
@@zzskyninjazz1821 actually food team are often on cam on insta reels
I would definitely watch a challenge with 3 teams, one each of the normals and a few of the food team per....
First a wine tasting episode and now one including a magician. Does someone have to make up for something with Ben? 😉
That would explain it all wouldn't it? lol
@@pocaiesc maybe someone accidentally set fire to his allotment.
@@1rbdfl "accidentally", sure 😂
Tyrone has started big school so ben is getting a bit broody and the boys are trying to cheer him up.
When Ebbers was left woth the scheduling unsupervised 😅😅🤣
Jamie at 11:00 😂 I love this episode! But it makes me miss 3 way battles and all the costumes that entails tho. Can we have one of those again?
Yes! 🙌
Throwing my vote in for this too, especially with Halloween coming up!
Oh yes please❣
I take it this was Ben's favourite studio day ever? Magic and cooking combined
How did you guess? 😂
A close second was the other episode. Eating food and drinking wine lol
@@SortedFood magic in the allotment and cooking might put Ben over the edge!
I know how that silk trick is done but Ebbers did it so well that I had to rewind to double check when the sleight of hand actually happened. Great job Ebbers!
Care to share? I can't pick it out!
@@Wackydude27 he has a thumb shaped tube in the palm of his hand which the hankerchief goes into, then fits onto the right thumb when the palms open
@@hbfdfgjcyk555 Yes i see it!
@@hbfdfgjcyk555 yea can't really tell that it is a fake thumb in this video, but you can see him grab his thumb when he pulls it off.
When he grabbed his thumb to pull out the scarf, so obvious. Sorry, too easy
Jamie: "Let me show you my magic pickle". I can just hear Janice saying "Oh dear, oh dear."
"Pickle" sounds exactly like the German word for zit/pimple, so it's even worse for the German speakers out there!
Oh so wud of loved that !
Ben: “magic tricks and a food battle? Brilliant! I’m loving this!”
Jamie and Mike: “Ben is having fun, 0/10”
Having performed some magic with similar techniques, I understand a lot of the sleights he’s using and can see some of them, but Dan’s technique and style is truly impressive. It’s great to see magic that works both for an in person audience and on camera, because that’s quite a bit more difficult than just doing one or other. And I don’t quite know how he got the corner into the lemon.
The lemon is my favorite close work magic! I assume a bunch of preloaded ones but I'm by nature a cynic.
@@jessicazaytsoff1494 you can see the corner piece of the card near the hilt of the knife - notice he started cutting the lemon before handing the knife over. When he did the long swish thru the lemon before handing the knife over, it deposited the card piece into the lemon.
You cant half tell Ebbers is calling the shots lately 😂 never thought Id see magicians on sorted, what a crossover! The dishes looked absolutely legit too! Some fantastic outside-the-box thinking all round! Im a bit of a sucker for magic tricks too 😁
"Boys, let me show you my magic pickle." I've got nothing. I had to laugh at that one. Usually it's Ebbers with the innuendo.
Dan Rhodes gives Jamie's dish a 9, but it looked like he was repulsed when he bit into it :D
I'm just waiting for Ben to have a guest where he can unleashed all his bennuendos with
Who do you think could keep up with the Bennuendos?
@@SortedFood Perhaps Barry Lewis? As a king of puns he most certainly could at least give you a run for your money perhaps.
@@SortedFood perhaps a comedian?
@@SortedFood mythical chef Josh
@@SortedFood Poppy!😁
Ben's two dream jobs colliding. He has the right temperament to be a magician I think. Just add a top hat to that long lost moustache and you're 90% of the way there.
He always has magic to fall back on 😂
Excellent silk trick from Ben there!
I absolutely loved the Wicked dessert that defied gravity. SO clever! (Jay's was great too, loved the pun.)
Can we talk about how clean Ebber's magic was though? Like yea, it's not any over-the-top stage magic but it was done incredibly well.
Seemed an odd choice for a guest since he doesn't seem to be much of a "foodie", but on the other hand I like that you try to bring your outside interests into the studio. And it was worth watching the video just to see Ben's magic trick and hear Jamie offer up his Magic Pickle! 😂
Yeah, I was totally over Dan in about 3 seconds! No way I could watch him do a whole magic show.
Ebbers non-nonchalantly practicing his "pass" at the half-way point is the highlight of this video for me. I see you Ebbers, and you're flashing the camera. lol
Love Mike and Jamie’s stunned silence
I'm dying - Mike clearly based everything on "Wicked", yet Dan and Ben keep throwing in Wizard of Oz references. 😆
Which either means they get wicked or they clearly don't
The normals have so many badges now, I think they need a final exam or an interview for promoting one of them to assistant chef 👨🍳
Mike making a Magic dish. There is a Universe where this video is R-rated.
This is Ben's absolute dream, right? Magic and cooking! What a great video, keep it up guys!
Boy, this magician sure knows how to force a card xD
Video idea for you: I would really like to see all the guys show their best cake making and decorating skills on a budget. It would be really interesting to see how creative they are.
Dan seems like a nice kid. Kind of reminds me of the old Looney toons sheep dog with that hair in front of his eyes. 😊 Good having him on. Nice touch of flair for the food. Hope to see him on again.
The magic of mikes was 10/10 but Jamie’s dish looked more appetizing 😅
when Ben did his little scarf trick I couldn't help but just smile ear to ear
9:13
I watch Sorted every day while cooking and washing up, so I think I’ve watched every Sorted video. This might be the most fun and wonderful battle I’ve ever seen.
At 08:03..you can see that Ben clearly knows how to handle a deck of cards.. Someting I just wouldn't expect 😂
Three way tie!! The heat is on now! 😁
This was a fun episode to watch after a long day of college and commute. Thank you Sorted Team!!!
Thanks for watching Isabella!
Theres quite a few mean comments about the guest, but I liked him. It was a refreshing change from the usual guests, and everyone was clearly having fun. This was another fun video, so keep it up!
i love how in the background of some of jamies shots you can just see dan and ben talking magic
Really liked having a guest like Dan in the studio! Super cool magic tricks and what a good way of bringing in a theme for a battle. Also I think his judgement was spot on!
Barry’s laugh at 14:38 😂
I was actually amazed by Ben's trick.
He did pretty good, but I think got too excited and jammed his thumb in too much, took him a bit of effort to get it off.
@@spiderwrangler4457 There is a concept in magic that is sometimes, sloppiness hides the technique. I kind of liked that part of the trick because with him being somewhat sloppy like that you'd think he wouldn't pull it off, but he did!
@@kuramatengu2814 I mean where it was clear he was pulling off the false thumb, not him pulling off the trick over all, but yes. :D
"Cheers Dan good to have you here." Lmao! Mike I always love you quick hilarious passive aggressive sarcasm! Awesome video you guys
It’s nice to see that the guys have a sort of ‘vetting process’ for the guests they bring onto the channel, they bring guests onto the channel who have a connection with the theme of the video, like Poppy in a potato video, Dan in this video, rather than just bringing in a special guest for the sake of having someone on the video. Dan was amazing and bounced off the guys energy well and was an excellent addition to the content rather than being a bland and boring character who stood on the side, and that’s what makes this channel so special because the detail they go to to ensure the videos they are making are of the top tier quality we have been blessed to expect from them, and consistently set the bar higher and higher
Wow, from a fellow magician, Ben has GREAT presentation! I knew he was into magic, and practiced, but never seen him preform.
I slowed down the handkerchief bit and rewatched it several times and still have no idea WTF happened. I like to think I’m pretty good at figuring out how tricks are done as well. Edit: oh never mind I got it now…it’s all in the thumb work.
@@DaxianPreston it's the right thumb isn't it? that's the only thing that's there both times, I have no clue about magic tricks though, so i'm not sure
@@DaxianPreston I was speaking more on his interaction and rhetoric with Dan while performing.
It's a rarely talked about secret in magic, the one-on-one interaction is THE most important part of your performance, doesn't matter how well practiced you are, if you aren't charismatic and can't hold someone's attention, you aren't a magician.
@@myndfields8539 Exactly; misdirection and wanting your audience to only see, hear, feel, or think what you want them to is the most important aspect. Ben did do a pretty good job, I have to think that his years on camera helps a bit, having to know about what tempo to talk at and what to say is good.
@@Cheesyxable Yep, there's something special to do with it, but you're correct. There's tons of popular vid's and clips online of the same exact trick done with different things (cigarettes, water, money, etc...)
Also I do want to say that having a magician/illusionist on the sidelines is probably the worst idea possible for the normals, Barry would get distracted and just watch Dan perform with his amazing abilities, Jamie would try and perform his own ‘magic’ tricks😂😂 and Mike would try and understand how Dan manages to misdirect everyone during his little performances, and so the end results are pretty awful if we’re being honest and that is why this is possibly the best video idea that uses the format of cooking but expanding the channel in a new, exciting and different direction
This episode was so fun to watch, thank you guys!! 🪄
This episode was so much fun!! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it Kate.
Loved hearing Baz laugh in the background. Would hate for him to have missed this fun episode.
Ebbers is not only a wizard in the kitchen, he's also a master socerer of Bennuendos and a real magician!
On the theme of magic, I would love to see an episode where the boys have to use magic berries in the cooking. Lots of chances to be original and I haven't seen anyone cook with them instead of them just being a youtube gimmick.
Jamie just being constantly robbed
The fact that Ebbers owns a fake thumb really, really fits with his brand... 😂
Fake thumb!? Is that how you do the silk trick???
@@Nonya_Busyness yeah, if you look, you can see him pull it off his other hand before pulling out the handkerchief, as if out of thin air.
@@derekrhodes4536 Oh snap! Haha Thanks for explaining!
Is the Country Alphabet series coming back soon??. Missing it.
It is indeed!
this feels like an excuse to have a magician on the show and i'm here for it
Love seeing Dan on here!!!!
I loved the presentations of both dishes. Well done, boys!!
“Boys, let me show you my magic pickle “
Collective gasp. 😂
Hope you can get an Indonesian Chef and try some Indonesian cuisine. But not the tipikal stuff like nasi goreng, satay (satay padang excluded.)
This was amazing and hilarious. Thank you, guys!
Mike's -"Thanks Dan great to have you hear" . . perfection 😂
No molecular gastronomy? Truly the most magical of all cooking.
"Pulled rabbit, out of a hat" takes the win just for that pun, it was clever as hell and I didn't understand what the dish was until it was said.
Can't beat a floating green dessert that pay homage to a great story, but that purple/blue cheese was definitely other worldly.
SortedFoods x MatPat, we need this
What a hysterical video. I enjoyed this laugh. I'm still marvelling at Ben's silk trick.
Great meeting Mike during my commute this morning 😀👍
Great to meet you too!
Ben hit ‘em with the oldest trick in the book, and the magician was actually impressed at how clean it was
First wine pairing, then magic, what next the lads grow their own Juniper berries and make home made Gin for Ben.
I bet Ebbers was having the time of his life.
This was a great episode! I'm a fan of all things magic, too, and I love how I could only have a guess for most of the things Dan was doing, but I know exactly how Ben's trick is done!
Not so sly, are ya, Ben?😆
This video reminded me of a cool (and totally magical) flower called the Butterfly Pea that makes a super vibrant blue tea. If you add acid like lemon or vinegar it'll turn pink or purple (color varies depending on how acidic it is). If you add something alkaline like baking soda it'll turn more teal in color. It's a super fun trick to pull out at a Halloween party or other witchy inspired event.
You can do that with red cabbage too! Although it probably doesn't make as good a tea unless you like the taste of cabbage.
I think the real magic is how you left the volume knob at 0.1 when rendering this video.
Earlier this year when I needed to purchase a new mixmaster. I had to purchase a pistachio kitchenaid because I keep seeing yours in the background of all the videos. Thanks guys.
Love this 😂
Jay's attempts at "magic" were hilarious! Fun video ☺ It's nice to see some different kind of content!
I haven't had much fun watching magic show for years but this is pretty entertaining!
I love her. She was firm on what is and isn't and so sweet
So much fun! Thanks gents.
How fun to watch! Thanks guys!
The only magic trick i can do with food,is make it disappear.
😂😂 Ben is having the time of life, that’s his not noticing Jamie’s mixture 😅. Like a kid in the candy store.
This was great! Super refreshing and cool and really really fun to watch! Thanks y'all for doing an amazing job!
Maybe for the first time, I actually found out myself how a magic trick was done, the handkerchief one by Ebbers. I'm so happy about it. What I'm not so happy about is Jamie losing, I'd kill (and then resurrect) to try that burger!
Jamie sloppy Jane?! 😁😁🤣🤣
Mike you should have made snap jacks. The real witches eat it every holloween.
This episode was really fun, but he totally called out that 10 of diamonds before it was even flipped over
Wow I enjoyed this ep very much. The guys and Dan has good chemistry!
Been so looking forward to this!!!
We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed filming it!
so much fun laughed all the way through. best thing no lemony glances
i am surprised that Mike didn't just serve a crap ton of absint. I mean that will give you a magic show for sure.
Opportunity missed by Jamie. You had smoke under the cloche. If only you had served the dish on a mirror. Magic is all smoke and mirrors.
That was very entertaining good Sir's, i really enjoyded this film alot!! Thank you for yor efforts and will for sharing this 😃BTW, sorry for my SPELL-ing... I'm from Sweden 😉
Of course Mike has seen ‘Wicked’ several times. He’s the Musical Nerd. We need more videos on it.
Yes we do I second this...speaking as a musicial nerd myself
I want Mike to partner with Voiceplay or the stupendium who are both into musicals.
We need a all 3 ultimate battle again
It is nice to know the levitating plate is uncomfortably wobbly. Keep at it science, you'll get it one day!
Magicians must be struggling, poor lad can't afford a haircut.
Jamie’s dish really lived up to the theme and looked fantastic, I think the criticism of his purple cheese was harsh cos it looked cool and if a restaurant served that cheese they would probably be going that’s really cool and inventive, poor Jamie 😢
Ebbers = happy boy! Love it! ❤️
this was kinda weird but i kinda love it
I think my favorite part was Ebbers doing a classic pass while in conversation. Good on you mate.
Not a magic fan, but that was fantastic! Ben's trick...great. so much fun. I would probably make the rabbit dish.
Jamie's face of disbelief @16:02 Had be falling off the sofa and should be awarded the comedy badge
The magic of both dishes was magic but the magic on Mike's dish was really good magic.
If Kush and the rest of the crew don't want to be in front of the camera? - How about a taste test battle. Ben, and Kush etc make dishes, the "normals" have to identify the dishes, where in the world they come from and who made them, with a surprise dish made by an outsider,Poppy or some one else ( Barry Lewis ? Adam Moran ?).
I love the occasional Sorted video binge watching all sorts of videos like the fan favourite Pass It On, dreadful kitchen gadget reviews and the assortment of cooking challenges and battles, but UA-cam is really killing it, I hate having to sit through 40 seconds of ads before each video, destroying the vibe because I’ll be on a Sorted high and then all of a sudden I’m watching people sell their car or talk about mortgages or cash back on shopping ffs 😂😂 if the ads were even half interesting or less repetitive I wouldn’t mind but the frequency, repetition and length of ads is killing my sorted vibes man 😂😂
