Bill: Everyone has a weakness, tough guy. I'll make you talk. It's only a matter of *TIME.* Ford: *Screams* Man, that is frightening! I know he said he knew the equation and all, but I really feel bad for Ford here... I feel he really was forced to *pay* for everything he's done.
I know I'm going to sound like a hypocrite here, but I'll be honest. I only said he messed up because I was afraid people would come after the comment if I didn't. I do believe Bill would have killed him if he said he didn't know it. I mean, Bill technically did that when he turned him into gold. He only reversed it because he needed him. That was a huge lie on my part. Sorry about that
Stanley dressed up as Stanford as Bill was chasing Dipper and Mabel, so Bill thought Stanley was Stanford. Stanford also used the memory gun, made by Fiddleford McGucket, to erase Bill from the world. But while doing so, Stanley also lost _his_ memory too. But Stanley recovered his memory in 1 week, which is good.

@@GANTZ100pts Nothing, because he isn't ABLE to break the rules. It's not like a higher being is governing him, he just simply can't enter Ford's mind without shaking their hand. The same way I can't fly because I want to
@@StardustLegend Stanford has a metal plate built into his head to defend against Bill's invasions. Bill being unable to invade Ford's mind is individual and unique to Ford because of the precautions he took. Cipher is also a "dream" demon in the essence that he's able to sift through people's heads when they're asleep. This is how Bill worked his "muse" system throughout history when he would enter people's minds. Point being, Stanley was unprotected, unconscious, and the only way to act against Cipher is to follow him into people's heads.
This dialogue is one of my favourite TV moments I've ever seen. He truly is, the best Cartoon villain ever. As goofy as any Disney character but with the motivations of a total psycopath.
Things that I was not able to notice: -Time stops every single time Bill appears. - Everyone is asleep when he appears (except Weirdmaggedon, then he is real) because he is a "dream-demon", a demon that haunts your dreams, so you must be dreaming to encounter him - That time when Gideon summoned Bill, he summoned him in the real world, but not as a real creature, where as Stanford had summoned him in the mindscape, where he had no way of getting into their dreams. - He must shake hands with the person he wants to posses, otherwise he can only enter their dreams. At the end credits of the Weirdmaggedon episode where Bill kills the Time Baby , there is a code that, when decrypted, says " It will take 1000 years for the Time Baby to regenerate and when he will be back, he will be very angry. " and in an episode where Dipper and Mabel use a time machine to go in the future, they go to the year 3012, exactly 1000 years after the death of the Time Baby, when we can see him destroying a futuristic city.
Yes but, when gideon summoned bill, he did it in the mindscape too, if you look at the episode you can see that after Bill leaves everybody else opens their eyes, meaning that the ritual also put people to sleep in a radio.
What I do want to understand is what exactly his dimension was like. We just know if it's describe as a "flat mind with flat dreams". Also, when he described he powers, he said that he "always wasn't this way". So that would mean when he was born or created, without his powers. So what made him gain it? Ugh...mysteries. Why do they exist?
Alex Hirsh said that Bill is based on a book called: Flatland, in which the whole second dimension world is explained, I'll put it this way: you have to put a coin on a table and then look at the coin sideways and level your head to the table until instead of seeing a coin you only see a line. That's how bill's world looked like all the time, it's boring and very restricted. I'm sorry I'm not really good at explaining it, if you read the first pages of the book you'll understand what Bill meant by a flat world. And as far a i know Bill has always had his powers and magic but he couldn't use them in his dimension due to the limitations his dimension had.
i like to think bill acquired his powers by being contacted in a similar manner to A. Square. some space land entity pulled him out, and bill being probably a new equilateral triangle was treated well (hence the top hat and stuff) but was still limited in his society. being exposed to a new dimension of existence, he realised there was much more to life and probably led a rebellion of sorts in his own dimension, using new resources he found ways to break the reality of the second dimension, essentially destroying it in order to have some semblance of freedoms of the third dimension, while also preparing him to make the full move. thats just my theory, of course.
Chao Flaka if you are still want too know and haven’t read it yet, then read the „Flat Dreams“ fanfic it’s really good andexplains Bills backstory and insanity very well (Btw didn’t I saw you on PSMD videos too?)
Even as a kid I always thought that they were kindof….. giving him wine and compliments as you sing him a song from your piano about meeting someone long ago while offering him ( for the 2nd time) a position in his henchmaniacs and holding him in chains. ( especially with the neck chain pulling him forward) I shipped them so hard when I was younger so it’s funny that everyone else has started now too.
same, that was exactly my reaction when he said that, i agree with u +amydiddle0317, he's a special kind of stupid, smart books wise, but everything else is just.....*sigh*
this was too good but I still can't get over how the line at 0:51 "but I wasn't always this way" It sounds like the most expositiony phrase he could have said to segway into a backstory. "I HAVE THE POWER TO WARP REALITY ITSELF!!! "Here's some backstory btw"
@@mallk238 ikr, it would’ve been nice if they made a backstory for Bill. I have so many questions like. Did Bill have a family?? Why did Bill became evil?? Was his family abusive?? How did Bill gain his powers?? How did he meet his friends?? And lastly, what was his world like?? I know his dimension is literally a flat world but it makes me wonder how it looks like.
@@ftumusiclover1239 bill's world that he comes from is based on a book called "Flatland" by edwin abott.I know they never get into his story in the show, but if you're interested in what his world was like, that's a book to read to give you an idea! (frankly yeah I think it is understandable that he'd go nuts if that was the place he grew up in lol)
@@eliteknight2137 two reasons: 1) bill did get permission to enter stan's mind. It was from Gideon! Demon laws aren't too picky about who lets them do what...the point is more gaining permission to interact with our world rather than an individual person. Think of how Bill offered to help dipper if he gave him a puppet. Dipper didn't OWN any of the puppets, they were mabel's, but in giving his permission to let bill use A puppet, he could get away with whatever he needed to do! (shown when he uses the dipper sock puppet at the end of the episode to speak to the twins) *BASICALLY* Gideon gave bill permission to interact with our world, but ONLY if he did it to enter stan's mind, and ONLY to get information; and in exchange he would gain a favor from Gideon to be redeemed later 2) Ford got a metal plate in his head. It keeps bill out of his brain. I can't remember if that meant it keeps him out entirely or if it just means he has a stronger defense against bill...but the metal plate helps. Also Ford knows about bill and can fend him off, stan was asleep and defenseless because he didn't know about bill.
honestly. this could be evidence bill will return. "we'll meet again" obvious. "don't know where, don't know when" meaning he doesnt know where or when he'll make his return. "some sunny day" hmmm. hinting twords abother summer. we may see bill cipher in alex's new show.
He’d be able to control everything kinda dimentio from mario style. Anything will be possible dimensional laws will no longer exist as he’d destroy them after transcending them. We could’ve had this outerversal deity, but instead he got stopped
@@azzydreamurr5677 Dimentio couldn't really control *everything,* even as Super Dimentio he merely had control over the Void, and claimed he would create new worlds after destroying them.
He'd never reach Outerversal. Outerversal means to transcend dimensionality itself. And the Gravity Falls verse doesn't have qualitative dimensionality as 2d planes can harm 3d stanford and 11d aliens die in a 3d spave crash. So these higher/lower dimensions aren't infinitely superior/inferior to 3D. Thus, Bill can never be more than 3D.
The way he keeps saying that the world will be "free" when his projection clearly shows him massacring everyone is messed up. Like he's so insane that he actually thinks people will enjoy that.
it's interesting because rather than bill owning up to what he's done he doubles down and becomes even worse. Even if it secretly disgusts him to his core. that's why he wants to take over 3d, it's literally just a coping mechanism. He lies and says he doesn't care about anyone and anything but you can actually see his real emotion that briefly at 0:54
i bet the second dimension is really uncomfortable especialy when you become aware of the third dimension and realize the freedoms you don't get to enjoy. Not to mension it wouldn't be aestheticly pleasing to look at. i can't imagine what the first dimension would be like.
Take a laser pointer and point at the wall the point you see from a 3D perspective is placed on a 2 dimensional plain and shows you a 1 dimensional life forms perspective which is 0D point a single point that gets brighter when you get close to your line segment comrade and dimmer as you move in the opposite direction from which you came
Three things: 1. In the book of bill, Ford dreams of showing he was attracted to logic. 2. Ford became Bill’s enemy after he closed the portal between dimensions. 3. Bill wanted Ford to tell him the equation. Not feelings for him. So, I’d hate to kill the vibe, but the only parts of this that WERE flirty were Ford being chained, Bill singing, and Ford being called “Fordsy”. Bill treats Ford in a way a man treats his wife in his perspective, but it’s not very romantic. But I will admit, Bills cover of “We’ll meet again” was awesome. It was the first time I heard the song.
0:54 The book of Bill makes this line way more disturbing and tragic. Bill honestly tried to liberate his reality from a two dimensional existence, but as result he accidentally destroyed it. Apparently, he ended up covered in blood, hearing all of his species scream, and shaking in fear at the realization of what he had done. But the event was so traumatic that he blocked that memory (he even blacks out when he tries to remember it), and being unable to accept the truth, he convinced himself that he had indeed "liberated" his dimension. He is literally insane and lost in his own delusion.
Just imagine if everyone left gravity falls on the spot, no defeating Bill just like getting out of there he cant follow us anyway. And then Bill and his weirdmagedon is trapped inside the barrier with no chance to leave forever. Stan probably finds a way to turn it into a tourist atraction with helicopter flights and stuff
Resurrecting a thread, but... anyone would go to this tourist trap, why? What I honestly imagine is if Ford and Stan WEREN'T able to pull off that trick, Bill would've just killed every last person infront of him, and just torment him for the rest of his days until he finally got him to talk. Either way, Ford's a mortal, so there's only so much Bill would be able to do to get him to talk..
@@souptikchakraborty2004 it would be a funny premise though. Like everyone writes off weirdnagetin as a landmark or maybe even an 8th wonder while bill is silently building up his way to escape gravity falls.

It is humorous knowing playing the piano is Bill's way of 'flirting', no matter how you perceive Ford and Bill's relationship, it's interesting how he never tried to kill Ford here despite everything, he cares but won't ever admit it. plus this scene has a different context regardless of the human torture moments😅
The human torture moments are part of Bill's flirting thing
Bill: Everyone has a weakness, tough guy. I'll make you talk. It's only a matter of *TIME.*
Ford: *Screams*
Man, that is frightening! I know he said he knew the equation and all, but I really feel bad for Ford here... I feel he really was forced to *pay* for everything he's done.
no he SAVED himself by saying he knew the equation
And then he got raped
Temmie Flakes sorry...

@@GANTZ100pts Nothing, because he isn't ABLE to break the rules. It's not like a higher being is governing him, he just simply can't enter Ford's mind without shaking their hand. The same way I can't fly because I want to
@@alexasin5691 but he was able to literally invade Stanley’s mind for the safe combination. What’s the difference here?
@@StardustLegend Stanford has a metal plate built into his head to defend against Bill's invasions. Bill being unable to invade Ford's mind is individual and unique to Ford because of the precautions he took. Cipher is also a "dream" demon in the essence that he's able to sift through people's heads when they're asleep. This is how Bill worked his "muse" system throughout history when he would enter people's minds. Point being, Stanley was unprotected, unconscious, and the only way to act against Cipher is to follow him into people's heads.
He can't, just as how he can't escape Gravity Falls and rule the universe.

Wouldn't call him a total psychopath personally, depends on how exactly you define the term ig

Just a girl with books so that’s why he said that he is not always that way coz of the limitations? I see make sense..

(frankly yeah I think it is understandable that he'd go nuts if that was the place he grew up in lol)
I don't understand when ford say that he must let bill in his mind but previously he didn't need permission to go into stan's mind
@@eliteknight2137 two reasons:
1) bill did get permission to enter stan's mind. (shown when he uses the dipper sock puppet at the end of the episode to speak to the twins)
*BASICALLY* Gideon gave bill permission to interact with our world, but ONLY if he did it to enter stan's mind, and ONLY to get information; and in exchange he would gain a favor from Gideon to be redeemed later
2) Ford got a metal plate in his head. It keeps bill out of his brain. I can't remember if that meant it keeps him out entirely or if it just means he has a stronger defense against bill...but the metal plate helps. Also Ford knows about bill and can fend him off, stan was asleep and defenseless because he didn't know about bill.

He’d be able to control everything kinda dimentio from mario style. Anything will be possible dimensional laws will no longer exist as he’d destroy them after transcending them. We could’ve had this outerversal deity, but instead he got stopped
@@azzydreamurr5677
Dimentio couldn't really control *everything,* even as Super Dimentio he merely had control over the Void, and claimed he would create new worlds after destroying them.
@@bradleyadams5252and they will. Its just not everyone.

it's interesting because rather than bill owning up to what he's done he doubles down and becomes even worse. Three things:
Wait if bill is "all knowing" than how come he dosent know the equation? i just out smarted a God.

“You’re insane if you think I’ll help you”
“IM INSANE EITHER WAY BRANIAC”
