In fairness, it's usually the people around him who get him into those situations unfortunately. Stanley pushed him into the Portal, and rolled the infinity-sided die to summon Probabilitor. And the alien spacecraft captured Ford after he tried to save Dipper. Though I guess you have a good point with Bill But in general, you're right, it is funny how many times he's been saved by his family. It's kinda nice when you think about it :)

It depends cuz like even though Dipper and Mabel were encountering paranormal creatures and the supernatural, PnF traveled through space multiple times and even traveled to an alternate dimension that was taken over by an evil Dr. D
They weren't entirely unconscious. Beforehand, during the party Bill's friends were having, Lazy Susan regained consciousness for a moment when Bill mentioned them not being conscious. I guess stuff still triggers them to turn back to normal but I don't know for sure.
