Nice to see that you also do 1/6 scale. I'm also trying to learn how to paint the head sculpts myself, but it's quite difficult I don't have an airbrush either, so it's great to see how you paint them by hand. Your videos definitely help me learn and get better at it. I'd love to see a full custom 1/6 figure video from you sometime. I'm also curious if you can get custom 1/6 head sculpts through your connections that 3d print? there are so many actors and musicians that many people would like to see in 1/6 scale. Thanks for your videos I always enjoy them keep up the good work Greetings from the Netherlands.
Thanks for watching mate and welcome to this painting hobby! Yeah~ airbrush kinda hard for me to paint such small head, hand painting is better 😅 Oh ya, mostly these 1/6 scale head sculpt I bought it from China shopping apps Taobao, not too expensive and a lot a lot of celebrity head to buy, I hope you can source one out and buy and paint it~ really fun! 🥳
When doing the washes on the skin (green, blue, red) it's always a 3:1 ratio and I spray denatured alcohol. It breaks the paint up giving it a natural look (texturing, blood vessels). Then I do a translucent layer of skin tone, the brown wash flicks.
Not bad, im a professional sculptor not a professional painter but i've been painting some of my sculpts, i find doing acrylic glazes very time consuming and tedious to get nice blends, been using makeup recently and it's so much better for subtle color blends and so forgiving, u can always feather it and remove it and once you're done seal it with a varnish, then u can enhance it with acrylic glazes if u want more intense colors, makeup is less opaque.

Great video. Effective description of your intentions and how to understand color. If you take requests, I'd be curious to see a video about how certain tones can make the sculpt appear wider or thinner.
Thanks to watching mate, try watching this video, I’ve list down all colour combinations, and more detail explain on the skin painting, not professional but hope to inspired everyone to paint their own collections 🥳 ua-cam.com/video/QfoIxbNB7zY/v-deo.html
Super Nice Dude!!! I love your works! I'am using lacquer based acrylic. Can i used clear resin for the eyes to pop it? Thank you so much! & more power!!!
I think painting opaque paints on opaque plastic is the issue. Hot Toys is correct to cast the heads in semi-translucent flesh-colored plastic then shade with transparent paints. More natural and easier that way.
@@WayneWingedAngel no no, it's amazing! Even though you didn't use spray painting! So learner newbie like me can afford to learn. Thank you soooo much!

Hi Wayne, nice painting jobs you do. Liked and suscribed already. Question, could you show or have a video where you explain on a palette the dilution of the paint and the load of the brush? I think that’s the key of it all. Many thanks!
