I have a different way to passage plan. I go to goggle earth check for obstacles to go around. Ie land. Reefs etc. I determine way points required Then check for shipping lanes.or other nav aid's. And variation. I then draw up my own chart's. Making notes of any things that I need to know for the passage.
Of course sir... People do it differently. But, as a mariner on ocean going ships, its difficult to use Google Earth to find out which way I may fo as well as where the land falls. Basically, its a skill passed on from generation to generation under careful monitoring. Interesting to know that GE can reduce time and effort. 😀❤️

I have signed off sir. Whichever video is going to be uploaded is just scheduled videos. For your reference, please use MFAG (med first aid guide) to get the list of medicine required to be carried onboard. Also, now a days all companies will provide you with a list of mandatory medicine to be carried as per company policy. Sample, i think you can get in your SMS manual or from master. Order medicine within 2 months from expiry (rule of thumb), and remove all expired from hospital. Also, medicine cannot be put in garbage, and need to be landed ashore with receipt. PSC normally request for landing shore receipt. Also, keep your medical log updated with receipt of medicine as well as weekly inspection of crew accommodation and hospital (written inside) as well as keep a record of medical treatment given. There is a specific MLC form for any shore treatment, that has to be sent with the crew and returned and filed in MLC Records with master.

Hello sir, can you please tell why your ship doesn't have ECDIS onboard?
Is it because th ship was constructed before 2013?
Yes sir. And also, its less than 10k grt. So, it's not mandatory.
