This is exactly the information I needed for my project. Thanks so much for making this! Excellent editing, photography, use of music, and narration. Much appreciated the quality effort. I also really liked the pacing; kept it moving and interesting but slow enough I could tell what was going on.
@Sathi VV I’m glad you found this video helpful and liked the editing style of the video. Thanks for your comment it means a-lot and thanks for subscribing to my channel!🙏🏾 Good luck to your project build!😊
Great video. Exactly what we are planning in our house in England. UK. Thanks from across the pond.
You’re welcome and glad you enjoyed the video. And thanks for subscribing to my channel!
What type of model saw was that' that you use that's for vinyl cutting and where did you purchase it at? I need to get a saw like that...
Thanks
@Chancellor Solicitor Free Inhabitant Sorry for the late response. The type of saw used to cut vinyl was a “SKIL saw 3601” and you can purchase it from here rstyle.me/cz-n/gqunb6dngyp .
@@MooreDecor Thank You, much appreciated !
looks good...where did you get the recessed fire place? i'm building something similar
@Cattivo thank you so much for your comment. We purchased the fireplace from the link below.
www.amazon.com/DIMPLEX-IgniteXL-74-Inch-Electric-Fireplace/dp/B01KIDCJZ2/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=DIMPLEX+IgniteXL+74-Inch+Built-in+Linear+Electric+Fireplace+-+XLF74&qid=1622267595&sr=8-5&_encoding=UTF8&tag=mooredecorl0c-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=605111ba3f651b5879f1e76761e60d3f&camp=1789&creative=9325
Great video. How many extra centimers do you have extra on each side of the tv? I am thinking about putting 1 upp but I am afraid for the tv to get over heated?
@Fortnite Familjen sorry for the delay. To answer your question, I have about 1.27 centimeters worth of space between the perimeter of the TV and recessed walls TV housing.
That's just enough space to get my finger tips in to make adjustments to the TV as needed. Also, it preserves the seamless ultra modern look I was aiming for.
As for your concern for TV overheation, inside the TV housing there's roughly about 4 inches or (10.16 centimeters) of space from the apartments structural wall to the back of the TV. I believe that's adequate for the TV I have. Lastly, it really depends upon the type of TV you have. I have a Sony OLED, its heat retention is very low deeming it safe for the space I measured.
I hope I answered your questions. Also, thanks for subscribing and for your interest in my content. 🙂
Amazing final result , there’s nothing better than doing it yourself and getting that satisfaction , not to mention saving money . Well done for teaming up with your husband to tackle this project 👍🏽
Thanks for subscribing! And I appreciate your thoughts on my work.
Amazing work. I'm going to start mine next week and you helped me so much with this video. One question. How did you do your corners? Did you cut the edges at a 45 degree angle or lap one over the other?
@LtShahdirty Thank you! 🙏🏾😊 I’m glad you found the video helpful. To answer your question we actually lapped one over the other.
Love the wall you and your husband built very professional looking. Love it!
I appreciate that! Its recognition like that which really motivates me to keep pushing forward in these DIY videos. Thanks for your comment and subscribing to my channel!
OMG, I've been looking for this video for so long. We are trying to build a DIY fireplace as well, but we have the angled ceiling as well. How do you get the measurment for the angled ceiling, in order to cut everything accurately??
@Danialove_ Sorry for the delayed response. In order to determine the measurements for the angled ceiling do the following below:
1) determine how wide you desire your wall to be
2) Determine where along the angled roof line you anticipate the wall to be placed
3) make vertical lines on both sides of your walls width from the bottom to the roofline
4) connect the tops to each other
Result:
By following the instructions above you should have created an exact replica of your roofline contour
I hope this was helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions. And good luck on your wall build. 😊
Very well presented and planned out! Thank you for taking the time to explain it all in such detail....Looks Great!
@Running Panda Thank you so much for your comment and subscribing to my channel. 😊🙏🏾
Excellent video with outstanding music to keep it very engaging. you have talent. For me I DO NOT have talent in such things. :) Question I am having one built but we have a cable box (its small) and it only works when exposed. I tried hiding it but it wont take the read from the remote. Do you have a cable box that is hidden or maybe you dont use a cable box. I guess I just add 4 inches so below I can have the cable box showing to use? Any thoughts are appreciated. I live in Vegas and the only provided for this neighborhood is Cox if that matters. Thank you and be well.
@Knuckles Washout I appreciate the love on my video. 🙏🏾😊 To answer your question, we currently don’t have cable because we stream everything so my only suggestion would be to either do what you mentioned above, which is leaving additional space below the TV so your cable box can fit there. Another alternative would be if you have enough space on the wall to create a built in shelving unit and drill a hole out the side of the fireplace wall for you to feed the cable cord through for a seamless look.
I will be posting a video soon on how to add a built in shelving unit to a fireplace wall. So stay tune for that video.
Thanks again for your comment and subscribing to my channel.😊
girl quit playin, what's your labor rate? this is great, i will be sharing this vid with my wife... thank you for this video...

Fireplace? Where did you purchase and does it just plug into a standard outlet. I see you, used Menards. You must be in the midwest lol 💪🏾
@Thewar187 we purchased the fireplace on Amazon. I will attach the link below. And the electric fireplace must be plugged directly into an outlet. You can use surge protector if you plan on using the fireplace for aesthetic purposes and not the heating element.
Bingo!! Lol Menards and Home Depot is our favorite places to go.

Good luck with your wall build!!😊
Great job one of the best I seen I do have a question. What will you recommend if you want to add stereo system?
Thank you for taking the time to watch the video! 😊 As for adding a stereo system, I would create another opening to fit the sound bar/stereo system underneath the TV.
Absolutely beautiful! Please how did seal the corners of the Vinyl tiles?
@uyiosa9115 Thank you! 🙏🏾😊 To answer your question we actually lapped one over the other.
Beautiful Job..Well Done
I would have liked to have seen more information on your electrical connections to the components and the surge protector, was there some type of access panel that wasn’t shown in the video?
@Jeffrey Everhart thank you for your comment and subscribing to my channel! @10:38 you will see more information about the surge protector used for our electrical cords and towards the end of the video you will see that we did create an access point on the wall for us to get to the plugs.
@16:35 you will see that access point.
hi how is your experience with the heat from the fireplace? is it damaging the TV? cause we have the same fireplace and TV but we cannot turn on the fireplace cause of too much heat. Even the tiles on the wall get supper hot
Hi @javeriabashir8275 I’m so sorry to hear about you not being able to use the heating function on your fireplace. As for our experience, we decided not to use the heating mechanism and decided to just use the fireplace function as a display feature for aesthetics.
Is the bottom section just resting on the carpet on you also screwed it in ?
@Glenville Pompier we chose not to screw the frame into the floorboards, opting instead to rest it on top of the carpet. This is because we live in an apartment complex and by drilling into the floorboards it would void our security deposit. And we needs that 💵 😉.
But if that's not your current position, feel free to secure the frame to the floorboard for added stability.
I hope this helps. Thanks for subscribing and being a part of the channel, it means a lot!😊
This video is very well done. Precise and full explanations.
I'm guessing to secure the frame to the ground you put the hole through the wood and carpet to the floor right?
My questions are how do you know where to drill to ensure you aren't puncturing something under the flooring. And how deep in does the screw/nail go.
@Tasteful Refin’d thank you so much for your comment and subscribing to my channel!
To answer your question, we actually did not secure the frame to the ground instead it is secured to the actual wall studs.
@@MooreDecor Hi, yes I see the stud, but did you not have to secure the stud to the ground first?
Beautiful job. Ok here's a cupla dumb questions. Where would the cable box go ? Also if there's ever a need to adjust something on the TV or fireplace, how would that get done ?
@mo pounce to answer your question, you could 1) incorporate the cable box inside the hidden tile I unveiled towards the end of the video, or 2) install it right under the TV but still utilizing the "hidden tile" technique.
As far as TV adjustments, if you need to attach more components to the TV you can pull the TV out using the extendable bracket. From there, attach what needs to be attached, thread the cord down the back of the faux wall, and plug the cord up to the surge protector inside the hidden tile.
I hope that helps. Thanks for subscribing and the best of luck 😊🙏🏾
Wow love love love 😍 were did u buy the fire place and wat model is it please
@bonitacasique5165 Thank you!!🙏🏾😊 The fireplace model is a Dimplex IgniteXL 74” and it was purchased on Amazon. I will attach the link below.

Hi sis
Just asking hows the wall tile around the fireplace. Was thinking it might eventually come off because of the heat coming from the fireplace?
ThAnks
@Sofia Lim we actually opted for the non heated feature on the fireplace so it’s more of a display for aesthetic purposes. So to answer your question the tile around the fireplace is holding up pretty good 😊 seeing how we’re not using the heated feature on the fireplace. Thanks for your comment and taking the time watch our video!🙏🏾😊
Gotcha! Thanks for replying. 😊 blessings!
What is the name of the fireplace insert you used?
@Flyte TvEnt I used the Dimplex Ignite XL 74” fireplace. Please see below for link on where to purchase.
www.amazon.com/DIMPLEX-IgniteXL-74-Inch-Electric-Fireplace/dp/B01KIDCJZ2/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=DIMPLEX+IgniteXL+74-Inch+Built-in+Linear+Electric+Fireplace+-+XLF74&qid=1622267595&sr=8-5&_encoding=UTF8&tag=mooredecorl0c-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=605111ba3f651b5879f1e76761e60d3f&camp=1789&creative=9325
The slide out tile was a nice touch ... I am preparing mentally to take on a similar project but with concrete instead of tile ... How did you end up arranging the other hardware like cable box or other devices?
@David Braylark sorry for the delay in responding. But to answer your question, I no longer rely on cable because the TV is a smart tv with live streaming capabilities.
As for the wiring, everything is ran behind the faux wall. There is about 3 inches of space between the "real structural wall" and framework. I utilize that space to run all cords/wiring through.
All power cords are plugged into a 3600 joule surge protector hidden discreetly behind the removable tile.
I hope I was informative in answering your question.
Thank you for commenting and subscribing 👍😊
What’s the fire place gain is not in the description
@Rastafarian I apologize about that. I made a separate video all about this fireplace which is why it was not in this video’s description section. Please see link below for the fireplace used in video.

BEAUTIFUL WORK!!! WELL DONE.

@Jose Morales thank you for your comment! The cost of the fireplace right now is $2999.99. I will leave a link down below. Thank you also for subscribing to my channel! 🙏🏾😊

Hi. greetings from the Netherlands. I would really like to build his firewall. But I'm afraid I'll mess it up. I'm just a beginner handywoman of 54 years old.
Just bought her tools.
Having a firewall built by a professional costs thousands of euros, which I don't have.
It looks simple step by step, but I don't think it is.
Nice Job. You did the spacing off the wall different then I have ever seen. Great Job
Hey!! Thanks for the comment. The reason I spaced it off the wall in that manner is because the fireplace is only 6” deep and the depth of the Tv wall mount when completely collapsed is 3” and the Tv (2”) deep. So therefore, all I needed was 6 1/2” of depth to clear all the electronics. I appreciate your observation and thanks for subscribing.
Great job looks amazing
Thank you!😊 🙏🏾
It looks amazing! What size TV is this?
@melissachavez3371 Thank you!🙏🏾😊 The TV is a 77”.

Great job, looks amazing. We’re doing similar here but were told we’d need speakers to play the TV sound. How is the sound from the recessed TV speakers?
It’s great because the TV we have has speakers built into the screen itself. So there’s no need for added construction to accommodate speakers that would otherwise interrupt the sleek minimalist vibe we were aiming for.
Check out my review on our TV, I think it would be perfect for your build. Thanks for your comment and for subscribing and helping the channel grow.😊🙏🏾

Are those laminate floor tiles or ceramic? Got a link?
They are vinyl floor tiles. And here is the link www.amazon.com/dp/B075G2YGZK/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&aaxitk=9Fbq-qECorwIq-OvcJp-5Q&hsa_cr_id=4786909420901&pd_rd_plhdr=t&pd_rd_r=e817b9a3-a70c-442d-a126-38cda49a7442&pd_rd_w=2uEoT&pd_rd_wg=XKBAC&ref_=sbx_be_s_sparkle_td_asin_0_img&_encoding=UTF8&tag=mooredecorl00-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=dbc20ff3ea5d283a8523232af661172e&camp=1789&creative=9325.
Great job guys!!! Just what was I was looking for, sleek and modern. Want to do the same, but wondering how to determine the frame size. For reference I have a 75 inch television. How did you decide or did you follow a formula?
@Melody Gilliam I just analyzed the space I had and determined how much of it I was willing to share with the fire place build and I came to the conclusion that I wanted it to be as minimal as possible. I hope this help. And thank you for your comment and subscribing to my channel. 🙏🏾😊
Thank you for posting this video!!! I used the exact Vinyl tiles from Amazon!!! Wish I can share an image here.

🔥🔥🔥 I have a question how much boxes of tiles did u use and would you have a estimate of how much I might neee if I plan on doing 10 feet wide 7 feet tall ? Thanks and keep up the good work
@Tony Som sorry for responding so late but we used about 6 boxes because our wall was two different heights due to the angling of the roof which was 9ft on one side and 15ft on the other side. The width of our wall was about 7ft.
As far as giving you an estimate, I’m really not sure. I would take into consideration the measurements of each tile and how many comes in the box to determine the amount of boxes you may need.
Thanks for your comment and subscribing to my channel!😊🙏🏾
Amazing work, I really like your sweat shirt...🙏🏾

@Demario Nix Jr. Thank you!!🙏🏾😊 I am so glad you found the video helpful.
Don't know if anyone mentioned it but that fireplace shouldn't be on a surge protector, it can cause a fire. Nice job!
@Randy Savage your absolutely correct about using a surge protector on an electric fireplace. However, we disconnected the heating mechanism (which is the main source of most electric fireplace surge protector fires) deeming it safe for surge protector usage.
It is recommended to plug electric fireplaces DIRECTLY into the wall socket to prevent 🔥.
I appreciate you for that helpful reminder. I will work on incorporating disclaimers on important issues such as this in future content.
Hey, thanks for subscribing 😊.
I love this project and I will definitely do this as well and so my question is how did you do the corners with the tiles coming together? Thank you and thank you for the DIY.
@eddievorasane8747 So sorry for the delayed response. Thank you for your comment and subscribing to my channel! 😊🙏🏾
To answer your question, we just cut the edges to fit the wall and join them together. Since the cut edges were the same color as the entire panel we did not need to do anything special to make it look seamless.
Good luck with your build! 😊
Awesome job! Love it!
thanks, I appreciate the love😊
Doing a similar thing with a 75 inch LG Nanocel and Dimplex Ignite XL 50 so it was good to see it all come together and look so good. Well done both of you!!
@Sean Dawson That 75inch LG Nanocell is a really good TV. It's one of the better 8k screens for that price point. Good luck to you in your build. Thanks for the comment and for subscribing 👍
P.S.
Keep me posted
I really don't think a professional could have done a better job than you and hubby did.

Great Video and tile selection. What where the size and brand of the Tv and fire place ???
@LetSpaReact thank you for your comment. I did mention briefly the specs on both TV and Fireplace @0:40 . I will leave the links to the TV and fireplace specs below.

Loved it... did yall tile the inside where the TV sits (like the side walls of the build out)?
@Octavia Thank you for your comment! To answer your question yes we did tile the inside where the TV sits.
Thank you for sharing. You did an 😢amazing job! I’m thinking of adding a fireplace to my formal long room too. The tile looks very nice!
😊😊😊😊 it’s beautiful….sorry I had the wrong emoji!
@colleenfuller9236 Thank you for taking the time to watch my video! 😊 Your kind words means a lot! 🙏🏾😊
Great job but it would have been easier to just paint it with the luxury paint
@D Williams thank you for your comment. And that very well maybe true but the look that we were trying to achieve I do feel we chose the right product. Thank you for your suggestion though. 🙏🏾😊
How did you install the tile on the outside corner please I’m hurting my brain trying to do it whit out trim
Thanks for your question. We used a circular tile saw to cut the corners.
1st, place the uncut tile up against the corner of where you will be installing it.
2nd, with the tile firmly pressed against the corner, using a pen or pencil draw a traced line on the outside of the corner onto the back of the tile.
3rd, cut tile along the drawn line using the tile cutter.
4th, with the joining corner tile same procedure as in steps 1-3. However, instead of using the outside of the walls corner as your guide, you would now be using the freshly cut tiles edge a your guide.
Voila! You now have an unobstructed modern edge.

Oh sis this is NICE. My husband and i will use this as an inspiration for our built in fireplace. Question what did you use in between each tile?
@ladylee8 thanks for your comment.
We actually didn't put anything in between the tiling. The tiling I used has an interconnecting mechanism that looks like it's been grouted but it hasn't 🤫. It's a really cool concept.
I hope that helps with your question. Thanks again for subscribing and being a part of my channel 😊.
Love the video and am inspired to create a same wall but how do you measure the wall to work out how much lumber you will need. Thanks
@Mursel Beqa Thank you for your comment!🙏🏾 To answer your question, you should first draw out a plan for your faux wall build. You will need to determine the wall dimensions that you plan on putting the faux wall on, such as the height of the wall and width. You will then need to determine where you would like to position the faux wall, for example if you would like to have it centered or off centered, etc. You then will need to determine the size of your TV and fireplace because that will ultimately determine the size your wall need to be. Once you have all of those measurements you should then have an idea of how much lumber you will need and also the measurements you will need to cut the lumber. Also just as a side note, when determining the height of the fireplace from the ground, you want it to be eye level from a seated position on your sofa or at least between 40”-42”(inches) off the ground.
I hope this information was helpful. Thank you also for subscribing to my channel and good luck to you on your build! 😊
This is the best video so far greatly detailed and so much shared information... thank you

What was the fireplace that you used? I want to put a fireplace beneath my tv as well and want one that doesn't vent up.
@Mollie Von T thanks for the comment. The fireplace I used in the video has a ventilation system that faces out instead of up, exactly what your looking for.
I hope that sped up your search on finding the best suited fireplace for your space. I’ve attached the link below for the fireplace.

fantastic job! especially getting the TV so flush with the wall WOW! Since my TV not as flush I was debating on making a frame and boarder around the TV to make it look like a painting. Your's and your husband's thoughts on it would be appreciated!
@Billy Metokur thanks for reaching out. To assist you in your concerns on the TV protruding from your wall. Your wall mount when fully collapsed might be too thick which can cause the TV to poke out pass the walls face. Therefore, I suggest to purchase a thinner wall mount similar to the mount I used for my TV which when fully collapsed is 2.8 inches. I've attached a link below.
As for framing the TV, that's different🤔 never thought of that. Sounds pretty unique 😏👍. It all boils down to personal taste, I say GO FOR IT.

Great video! I love the final reveal and the clear directions that were given for people to follow. Also the quality of this video along with the great transitions is amazing!!!!
Thank you!🙏
Glad you enjoyed it!
Your end result looks amazing and did you guys really just use a hand saw for all those lumber cuts? Wow!!!
I was all ready to comment on the hidden/inaccessible outlet which is big no-no and then your reveal at the end was a big aha! moment :) VERY clever idea to have that pull-out hidden access tile.
But please tell me you didn't really install that framing on top of the carpet???
That tile actually looks really good - constructive comment though, using the edging products however would have finished it out rather than the raw edge on the corner - as well as the manufactured matching product for that, as I was watching I was thinking that a product line from Schluter - actually used for ceramic/stone installations - would also have worked great on the corners too. Maybe even a contrasting satin nickel or something. I used that in my shower tile installation and thought, hmm, that would work here too. Also a tip on the installation, even if using a level to lay out the tile, it might have been better to do the sides after the front - that would have ensured your joint lines ended up perfectly aligned but recognize you probably went that way to ensure you got the overlap of the front tiles correct.
On the video, I LOVED that cartoon effect at around 5 min mark!
Great job and nice to see you have inspired others.
@decosse01 Thanks for the comments and helpful tips. I'll try to incorporate some of those in the next build.
But to specifically answer some of your questions. Yes, my husband did cut the wood pieces all by hand. We didn't have the miter saw that we used in the bed video at the time of this build. So we went the primitive route 😂.
Next, did we really build on top of the carpet 🤔. Yes🤭. See we rent, so tearing the carpet up to make way for the build would surely be a one-way-ticket to saying bye-bye to that security deposit 😔.
So we chose "on top" of the carpet as a less invasive and costly choice 😉.
Thanks for sharing, subscribing and offering really good tips.🤗
@@MooreDecor I meant reference to the hand cutting of the studs as an absolute true complement by the way! Well done on you both! It's even more praise-worthy with that limitation of power tools.
And for the security deposit? I can't imagine that your landlord would not be absolutely THRILLED with such an upgrade (although maybe you would likely take the fire and TV for sure, if you ever leave, as that is big capital investment to leave behind!) Rather than penalizing with loss of deposit they should PAY you for the beautiful enhancement to the property! Thank you for the explanation and it makes for good reasoning that it was not just poor judgement to do that. I hope your channel is immensely successful and leads to your own (owned) home where your investments in it will truly be your own assets! Sincere best wishes in that quest.
p.s. another couple of CONSTRUCTIVE questions/alternative recommendations on your listed products:
Frogtape - FANTASTIC product for painting - but I think you used it just for layout? (I only just computed the green tape in the video and you listed it in your comments) - super expensive though and unless actually being used for sealing edges for trim paint, maybe simple 'Blue' tape would have sufficed here?
The Caulk gun (although used for glue in your application) - How did that one work for you? (a sincere question rather than a nit-pick) I have been through so many of these devices and always get frustrated when they continue to 'ooze' after you are done with a strip of application - this is more specifically aimed at caulk however; when I was having my house exterior painted (too much for me to undertake personally!) I had commented to my painter about my frustration in this issue even with 'supposed' premium guns I had purchased from the 'big box' stores; he recommended this - www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/products/dripless-ergotech-caulk-gun and I have to say I absolutely LOVE IT! It stops when you want it to stop! It's plastic and no 'suave' looking as some 'premium' ones I have, but it absolutely works! So if looking for a great Caulk Gun, try that one. :) So yes, my other guns are now also dispensing glue - for caulking, the Ergotech is my go-to! :)
fu#%!ng gorgeous!!!!!!
@Lee Will thanks, that means so much to me. It proves that the research, planning, building, moments frustration were not all in vain.

@@MooreDecor Thank you!
Hi, this looks great. Thanks for posting. Did you mount your tv to the wood you used to connect the frame to the wall?
@bianca Yes. The anchors referenced in the video played dual roles. 1) they're used as the mounting point for the TV bracket and 2) it helps to minimized the amount of screws drilled into the actual structural wall of the apartment. Thank goodness, because those TV bracket screws were HUGE for some reason 🤔
Thanks for subscribing it means a lot Bianca and your comments help me connect with your perspective on the project. Thanks again!😉
That is nice. We’re getting ready to do a stone fireplace and tv wall but I like the flat look. Very nice 👍🏽. You did a great job.
@All The WadeUp thank you so much for taking the time out to comment and subscribe. I've always been a fan of modern design. So I embodied all that inspired me and produced a wall that will hopefully inspire others. Thanks again 😊
Cool project and great editing. Hope you channel gets a lot bigger!
