I'm slowly moving towards homemade toothpaste, or just baking soda, then using mouthwash, especially since finding out Crest puts plastic micro-beads in some of their pastes~bad for the environment and for gums and teeth. I also don't use almost any commercial housecleaning products anymore, other than those I'm using up, but won't buy again. Baking soda, vinegar, certain kinds of oil, citrus cleaner, sometimes alcohol, sometimes ammonia, sometimes bleach ~ these work better anyway, cost much less, and don't contain things like "anti-bacterial" agents, which only help the bacteria become more resistant, causing widespread trouble.

We don't have Kroger, but we do have Fred Meyer. The two things I LOVE: 1) at the corner of the produce section, as you come in the store, they offer free healthy snacks for kids as they come in to shop. Usually apples, bananas or oranges.. you can just grab one.. free! The other thing #2: I LOVE that one the other end, somewhere in produce, they have little marked down bags of vegetables and fruit. Its usually 3-4 in a bag, and at least 50% off. Hint! Its a GREAT place to get bananas for your bread!:)
I would love the markdown corner too! In our area you can find marked down bananas but rarely any other produce :(

does this video still apply to now. Being it was a couple years ago. I'm really trying to get into couponing and Kroger is my store. I also watch your video on CBS or was it Walgreens or maybe it was both. I love how you walk through everything and explain. I think it's beautiful, helpful and easy to understand.

Kroger also no longer accepts printable coupons (this is true at least for those of us in Houston ).

Yes, for every dollar you spend at Kroger's you get 1 point, and it takes 100 points to do the discount.
and it's ten cents off a gallon of gas at participating gas stations such as Shell (which is honestly some REALLY good gas; when you can go 90 miles on a 1/4 of a tank in an older SUV, thats some good gas).
** BUT what you DON'T know, is that you have an ENTIRE month to get that 100points.

In Nashville, TN and a few other counties around here they still double up to .50 cents. Its hard not to take advantage of certain items because I know that other stores dont do this. Some of the other stores here also take competitor coupons which I can match with sales AND Manufacturer coupons. Makes for great sales if you can find them. Its kinda pricey here and Im still learning.
Great tips! On the gift cards though, doesn't it cost about $3.50 to activate the card? Is it worth it still to buy gift cards to get double or triple gas points?

If I download a coupon to my card and let's say it's for a box of cereal. **and the coupon was a dollar off.

could I technically use the coupon on my card for one box of cereal and still have 3 Mfq that I could use towards the three other cereal boxes?? If, you respond to my question I would like to thank you in advance.

We hate being punished because we don't do "digital coupons". We're old, confuse easily, on Soc. Sec., have a Ralph's card and get screwed just about every time we shop at Ralph's. Why??
question - As of July 2015 my Kroger does not double coupons anymore; can I use a coupon for a product with the digital coupon?
coupon Resa Don't know if you have the answer or not yet, but if you have a coupon to hand to the cashier then have a digital coupon, the digital will be scanned first and most of the time, the coupon you hand to the cashier will not be taken. Sometimes it will be able to go through, but they aren't supposed to override the coupon if you do have a digital.
When I buy on the mega event that it's 4 items for the price 1.99 do I have to buy 4 on 4 items to get the discount ? Like if I buy 11 items I just get the sale price only on 8 items or on all items? Hope u can reply back. Thank you
+karina gutierrez With any mega event at Kroger you need to buy a mix or match of the number of items required. So in your case, you would need to buy in multiples of 4 to get the discount on all items.

Jenny, how do you identify Catalina items @ Kroger....are they always RED?
They will have tags on some of them, but not all. Look at the coupons that print after you check out, some of those will advertise catalina promotions that are starting soon, and you can check out the list that is linked in the footer of Southern Savers.
Where do you get your coupons from!?
I get my coupon inserts from www.sundaycouponinserts.com/. I also print out what I need before I go to the store
At least where I live, you can get a newspaper such as my favorite Sunday paper they have many coupons for many stores! You can usually find them in front or inside of a local gas station.

Can you use coupons with expired date a week later?
It all depends on the cashier. The register will tell them not to but they can still just override the register and take it off. They shouldn't take it, because the store won't get money for it after the date, but if you get a cashier like me who hates working at Kroger they'll probably take it anyway.

How do you get items for free or just a penny.
nessfaye090 it depends on the item and coupon. For example, at Kroger, they run a B5S5 in which Crest toothpaste will be as low as 1.99 when you buy 5 participating items. I could use 5 of the 2/1 crest coupons that PG releases all the time.
actually the whole deodorant coupon is not right the store will not take that coupon because it exceeds the value of the product
Since Mega Event prices come off at the end, the computer will process the coupon first and consider the product as costing $1.39 when the coupon is rung up. If it was just a sale for 89¢ you are right the coupon will be rejected, but mega events the computer handles differently.
