Vanessa - Thanks for writing! You can highlight on a coupon, if it will help you but you cannot write on it. But I would still keep the highlighting to a minimum. The less you can do to make the cashier skeptical about a coupon the better.
I'm very interested in this system of couponing. I got off track for awhile and I use the binder system. I honestly just want to buy what I need and use mostly and try to get it almost free. I think money makers are awesome and I did that twice with the toothpaste and made 27 dollars or so. But I'm not trying to go extreme and do big stock piles. If maybe you could make another quick video about your system, but in more detail show the inside of your coupon bag. Please and thank you
thank you so much for this video. I've been to other websites and I know I've said sometimes that they helped me a lot. This so far has been one of the better explanations of how to coupon and I really appreciate it because I'm having a really really hard time in grasping the concept of how to do this. I only have one question on you mentioned coupons booklet or something how and where can I get them or do I get them?. I live in New Jersey. my last question other than this video do you have any more about on how to coupon?
I really don't get how this works. I rarely find coupons for anything that I am likely to want or need. The other thing is...How do people wind up paying very little to nothing? Can you use multiple coupons on 1 particular item? Most people that share tips on couponing; never explain this. I would appreciate it, if you would. Thanx!
hi what do you do with all of the food, surely you and your family wont eat all of it? by any chance do you do hold like a charity cookup to help the less fortunate ??
can u use more then one coupon for 1 item or is it 1 per item. . and how do u no how many transaction to do.. I'm so confused. . ps.. I like ur system. . it looks and sounds super easy.. thanks
@sizzled - Only 1 coupon per item, unless you have both a store and manufactuer's coupon, then you can use both. Target is well known for having a lot of their own coupons which you can use on a product, along with a manufacturer coupon. Otherwise, to get things free you have to have a very high value coupon, a store that doubles coupons and very good sales, all that makes for free items. So, when you see tv programs that show ppl getting items free you will notice they are getting a ton
I was asked to share the labels I put on each of the envelopes I have. Here is the list: Baking, Beverages, Breads, Breakfast, Canned Goods, Cat Food, Cleaning Products, Condiments, Dairy, Dressings/Oils, Dog Food, Feminine Products, Frozen Food, Meat, Oral Products, Paper Goods, Pasta & Rice, Salads/Fruits, Shampoo/Makeup, Snacks And then I have individual store envelopes like Ralphs, Walmart, Pet stores, etc.
Ahmed: You can only use one coupon per item. The only exception would be if a store has their own in store coupons and allows you to use an in store coupon and a manufacturer's coupon on the same item. Target lets you do this. Do not get me started with the Extreme Coupon show, it is just ridiculous!
Continued... of the same products because they have managed to get a lot of coupons for that product because they know it will be free. I am not a fan of the tv programs because in most cases it is unrealistic for us "normal" folk. But you can save money using coupons, especially when an item is on sale. I hope that helps. Let me know if you have more questions :)
@RBY - Depending on what area of the country you live in your coupon inserts could be different. I actually had 3 inserts in yesterdays paper. You could contact your local newspaper and find out if they contract with SmartSource and P&G which were the other 2 inserts that were in my newspaper yesterday.
Girladt - I am assuming you are asking what is written on the other envelopes? If so these are by category, like breakfast, canned goods, cat food, etc. That is where I put the coupons until I am ready to use them, once I have them cut out. If that is not what you meant let me know :)
@ Arocha - good point. I have written about the sending coupons to the military on our website but have not made a separate video for it. For anyone interested in sending your expired coupons to the military here is a website that can help you do it... ocpnet dot org
iampotts02 - A printable coupon is still a manufacturer coupon and you can only use 1 manufacturer coupon per product. The only store where you can use 2 coupons per item is Target. They have their own store coupons so if you have a Target and manu you can use both for 1 product.
With manufacturer's coupons it will say just that at the top of the coupon. Store coupons normally will say Target Coupon, or whatever the store. Catalina coupons are the ones that print at the register so they look different. Hope that helps
@Msmouspro - If you are saving $15 to $20 on just coupons that is really great. If most of that is just from the fact that you are buying items at the store that are marked down, maybe challenge yourself to see if you can save more from using coupons.
They come in my Sunday newspaper. You can also visit our coupons page for Smart Source and other printable coupons. moms fun money dot com / coupons dot php
great organizing tip, i will definitely be using this system, I just started a binder, it works but i want something more compact that get the job done as well.
Most of them say "one coupon per purchase." Per purchase just means per item. I've never seen one that says "one coupon per person per transaction." Sometimes you'll come across those that say "one coupon per purchase and four like coupons per transaction." A like coupon just means the same exact coupon. For example, if you have four $1 off CoverGirl coupons from the same newspaper (you bought 4 newspapers), those are "like coupons."
this is a cute idea!! ive been living with my boyfreind and his dad for almost 2 yrs, and i have taken on the role of making the grocery lists and doing the shopping. as i have food stamps, im always trying to find the best deals and am trying to take up couponing to make the food stamps stretch a lil farther. this has been helpful. :)
@YokotaBound88 oh i see, that is very good. i just didnt know...wasnt thinking along those lines, i thank all the military for all they do for us, i have alot of coupons that i would love for someone to get use of, mostly all household products though. gimme the address to ship em too and i will. =) thx!
Hi , i have a question .. I want to know how is it that people are using more than 1 coupon for an item when it clearly says one coupon per person per transaction ??? When i see extreme couponing I really don't understand how they can use 10 or more of the same coupon ? Thanks ...
Hi love the idea of the make up bag I have a question like you said you put in the first envelope what you are expecting to buy and you still have other envelopes what do you put in them, if you know already what you plan to buy what kind of coupons do you put on the rest that's what I don't get
@ToxicEyes2202 To my knowledge, this is only for the United States. For those military families who are currently stationed at overseas bases, ie.. Japan, Germany, England etc. I'm not sure of any military bases in Canada but most coupons states for use in US only.
@leelee529 Its because we don't get USA based newspapers over here that contain coupons. So by the time someone actually sends coupons, we don't have the full time to use them. So our commissary and AAFES overseas allows us to use them if they are expired per their agreement with the manufacturers. :)
thanks for the tip on the e-mails! I found this very helpful. I am not a mom, but actually just a poor college student. I would like to see how you go through and make your lists and plan you shopping tips. Sometimes I get confused and forget by the time I get to the store.
I don't need 10 things of mustard, but i don't understand what the problem is, with couponing... the groceries store get by on over pricing us, so why can't we find a way to make something they invented work for us. So, women stop hating and start saving.
Well though I am not a mother, and a single gal. This is the most simple, and most forward coupon tutorial Ive seen. Great point with not using a binder,as yes how do you fit a binder in a purse? Great tutroial! Hope I become as great at couponing as you are!
PLEASE don't throw your expired coupons in the garbage. Military members can use those 6 months past the expired date. If you would like to donate your expired coupons, please PM me and I can tell you where to send! :)
lover your coupon organizer, I have been looking for an great inexpensive way to organize my coupons and as you stated, I've out grown the 12-13 pocket filer. I have a ton of makeup bags. Thanks for the idea
I like the way you do your couponing I'm Km of three of my husband works and my kids r into everything at school and I think this way would be very helpful thanks so mich
great video! but any suggestion to small towners?? we get no inserts.. and i do ecoupon.....but with just 2 stores to choose from.....its very frustrafing!! thank you
We throw away lot of expired coupons and this could be a great way to contribute to military members. could you please tell me where to send these coupons?
I have the same doubt and no one has ever been able to answer this to me... If you find out please be kind to share... cause this to me seems impossible.
You can use one coupon per item, so for every bottle of say shampoo you get you can use one coupon for each. Unless the coupon states one per transaction.
Continued... I also have an envelope in the very front that has all my current coupons, meaning coupons that I will be using at the store, I try to put the coupons in the order of the aisles in the store I am shopping at. Hope that helps!
@trond - Yes, it is! I probably spend 30 min. a week preparing my list and dinner list for the week and save a lot. I hope you will find it worth your time :)
You can't write on them? I've been writing (for example) ss 9/29 and my initials so if I have a problem and have to redo or whatever, they can easily identify them. If we're not supposed to write on them, though, I'll stop. Please let me know!
I cant wait to move to the states! I'm gonna become an exreme couponer!!!! i use coupons but the savings just arnet the same/non existant here in the uk
i've looked around 4 ideas & i love your way, just how i always had my idea, exept on box, but never had an actuall finall form....thanks alot for the tip
i use to have a binder then a accordin folder for food cooupons and non food now i use ziplock bags for food nd non food it works perfect for me then for different stores i have seperate bags for the stores i want to use coupons
love this!! I have a binder but it is so big!!! this is prefect to carry in & even keep in my purse 24/7 :) thanks for sharing
Vanessa - Thanks for writing! You can highlight on a coupon, if it will help you but you cannot write on it. But I would still keep the highlighting to a minimum. The less you can do to make the cashier skeptical about a coupon the better.
Can you show us or list each of the titles you have on the colored envelopes please
I would like to start couponing were to start n understand it works
@YokotaBound88 yes i have tons and have been wondering where to send them...have no idea ...please let me know
so what if I get coupons from Wincofoods store can I go to Wal-mart and use it over there or is that a big no no?

I
@Keyes28 This is only for OCONUS locations.

@YokotaBound88 Does this apply to military in Canada or is that US only?
Great for a city coupon Mom like myself! portable! Going to use my Vera Bradley makeup bag!
hi what do you do with all of the food, surely you and your family wont eat all of it? by any chance do you do hold like a charity cookup to help the less fortunate ??
I personally do not do stockpile shopping, but I no some people do and I would hope that they would indeed give back!
Need to get organized Thanks!
can u use more then one coupon for 1 item or is it 1 per item. . and how do u no how many transaction to do.. I'm so confused. . ps.. I like ur system. . it looks and sounds super easy.. thanks
I like your system. Off topic - Where do I get printer ink for cheap?
Eylat Poliner you probably already know this by now but Costco refills your ink cartages for cheap. check them out 👍

That is true, but mine looks very manly :) So, it is possible to find something that no one would ever guess is a make up bag.
great organizing tip, i will definitely be using this system, I just started a binder, it works but i want something more compact that get the job done as well.
@Mickey - I believe it is. It is from e.l.f. - a friend gave it to me for free and it is just the perfect size!
@Campaslim - what are the 2 store that you shop at? I will try to help you from there.

i'm new at this i just started this week and i bought the sunday paper this week and it only came the redplum insert is that normal? thank you..
@ShaCourtney
Yeah, I realized I didn't specify in my first comment as to where they can be used. Thanks for catching that! :) I appreciated it.
@mediaagent I know! I hate carrying around my binder.. It's so huge!! I love my binder but not taking it everywhere! I love the make-up bag idea!
@YokotaBound88 How can a military member use coupons 6 months later? Is this only for deployed members or anyone with a valid military ID?
@YokotaBound88 I would like to know where to send my expired coupons for the Military I feel so wasteful throwing them away.
I am totally new and really struggling to get a go hang of this. This is hard & frustrating but I am not giving up!!
I started organizing my coupons with the baskets! THANKS! I still need a make up bag!
Searching for a way to store and transport coupons. This appears to be a feasible method.
Can I use a printable coupon on one item with a sunday paper coupon a walmart?
@ShaCourtney
Yes, just overseas locations... I am in Japan :)
i lovethis. i am a new couponer who didnt wanna do the binder
Printing coupons in color is not a great way to save money.
Why am I watching this when I don't even like in the US? XD
cool i like
@YokotaBound88 only OVERSEAS military members right?
this is a great video i like your ideas of organizing !!
Continued... I also have an envelope in the very front that has all my current coupons, meaning coupons that I will be using at the store, I try to put the coupons in the order of the aisles in the store I am shopping at. Hope that helps!
how do you get those smart source ads?
@YokotaBound88 wow how fair is that???
@trond - Yes, it is! I probably spend 30 min. a week preparing my list and dinner list for the week and save a lot. I hope you will find it worth your time :)
hahahahha so trueeee
very nice

i've looked around 4 ideas & i love your way, just how i always had my idea, exept on box, but never had an actuall finall form....thanks alot for the tip
I am a long time couponer and organization is my biggest issue. Loveeeee your makeup bag idea and will be using it for sure.
This was the first couponing video that actually made me feel ready to start and not super intimidated. Thanks!
i use to have a binder then a accordin folder for food cooupons and non food now i use ziplock bags for food nd non food it works perfect for me then for different stores i have seperate bags for the stores i want to use coupons
Is it ok for me to highlight on my coupons the portion, etc? Or will that boo them?
Glad to hear some of my ideas came in handy!
