More cuts hit B.C.’s forestry sector

  • Forestry giant Canfor is permanently closing the pulp line at one of its Prince George mills, cutting 300 jobs in the process - the latest in a series of mill closures. The province has promised to reform the sector.

    Such a bias news . No mention of annual allowable cut reduction of old growth trees

    Quit shipping our trees away then we would have a fibre supply. Funny how there's no mention of that.

    Of course little mention of the exporting practices that have been going on for years.

      95 % of all logs harvested are exports...free trade.... NAFTA DESTROYED OUR VALUE ADD WOOD PRODUCTS INDUSTRY

    185million could build 185 million homes. Then they wouldn't have to work. If this money is spent wisely think of the prosperity.

    this is good , i like my forests left standing for camping in and enjoying. forestry workers made bad career choices and can now go fine a different career. no shyts given,
