This playthrough is ironic, because the roof used to kill Salvatore is the same one used by Toni in LCS to protect him. Such a sad end to a great (but paranoid) man.......

Diablos really are easy to deal with . Its just that the leones can carry a shotgun that completely destroys your car in seconds . Only way to safely drive through st marks is to use a rhino

It’s weird cos if you played this mission in 2001 when GTA 3 came out, Salvatore’s death probably didn’t mean much but if you played this many years later, after San Andreas and LCS, killing Salvatore would feel a lot different😶

Another irony is that here, Claude parks his car in the same spot where Salvatore set up the car bomb to kill him.
Don't forget that sniping position was the same place when Toni protecting Salvatore from Sindaccos
@@afriandyyuanda3508 that was probably deliberate with the developers. They probably realised that most people kill Salvatore from the roof top even though you don’t have to, so they decided to have a mission in GTA LCS where you use the same rooftop to protect Sal

Actually it was after "The Pick Up" that the triads start to hate you. They also start to hate you after "Trial By Fire".

How the table turns
Love the fact that the second Salvatore is dead, mission is passed. A Rockstar game now would at the very least you clear the area before the mission is over, if not get into a full blown rediculous shootout/chase.

It's so sad that Salvatore's death isn't dramatic. But after all,he was a great boss. If he chose to trust claude it'll be great but it's Maria's fault. After his death,probably Toni became the boss of the mafia and it's actually good if rockstar make a game about that but it's too late we're in HD universe. If they only connected the storyline of 3D and HD it could be better.

Man, I feel so stupid now. When I first played this as a kid, I thought they would see you you if you got anywhere near the club. And it was nearly impossible to blow up the limo with 5 sentinels flanking it. So I had to spawn like 5 rhino tanks to block the road and take a 6th one to run everyone over.

Claude Liberty City: What CAN they do when their bids drops dead from lead to the head? I mean sure they can at least PRETEND to be shocked and surprised and look around frantically but there's no point...however the Mafia, are, from that point on hostile towards you when you enter their neighbourhood and whack you straight away.
Pretty much all of Portland is gone. The only safe place really is the Red light District, which is your 1st safehouse. But it sucks because it's between Chinatown (The Triads) and Saint Marks. (The Leones) And after when you kill Salvatore, The Leones not only have the Mini-Uzis, they have freaking shotguns! Really not safe there at all. The Triads only have pistols and baseball bats, which is easy to pass by. Portland had that original feeling, home feeling. But the gangs betrayed Claude :(

When you complete missions from the Yardies' leader, Diablos will attack you as well so there won't be any safe place at gangs' territories in Portland lol. Btw, it's kinda nostalgic visiting Portland places when you unlock missions from other islands and all the gangs are shooting at you.

Yeah so many ways that when I played this game recently on my Switch (definitive edition) Sal ended up driving into the water by going over the hill in St. Marks (by the subway platform) and drowned himself lmao

This mission was hard for me
Not because of the difficulty.
It's because i played Liberty City Stories, i got attached with the Funny, Serious and respectable Salvatore
I never thought you could do it that way...every time I did this mission I always rode the boat to Portland, carjacked someone, drive to Sal's mansion, use my car and the other cars there to block off the garage entrance, and as soon as he finally arrived, I tossed a couple of grenades his way. Now that I've picked this game back up, think I'll try it this way.

@@CPT85 i suggest you to try the game with mods(winter edition,gta united,gta underground),(best start custom save (all ambulance, vigilante,taxi missions done all hidden packages collected only missions are undone) save, also if you have friends you can play with them in gta 3 LibertyCity unleashed multiplayer.

Top 5 Don Salvatore Leone biggest mistakes that costed him life:
5. Invested in rival Mafia’s casino and burned on that.
4. Blindly trusted CJ and was betrayed by him which caused him dangerous paranoia.
3. Scammed Toni Cipriani paying him just half-million.
2. Betrayed Claude.
You can start a butthurt, you can criticise me, you can hate, you can attack me, but…
1. Poisoned and ruined Maria’s life.
Sal was a powerful Don, a gentleman for friends and merciless for enemies. But, to be honest, Mafia Bosses never live long. They all end up in jail or in grave. Salvatore escaped jail but his paranoia, distrust to everyone, believing in conspiracies, megalomania, endless lust for power and following the rule “betray them before they betray you” clouded his judgment. So, it’s not surprise that the fatal fate had caught him one day. That was Salvatore Leone, Don of the most powerful Mafia Family, gangster of Portland, dangerous paranoid, perfect manipulator, vain narcissist, cruel criminal and now… the legend.
This mission just proves that every GTA game has its own protagonists like VCS where the Vance Bros where the main boys but in VC they both die then Tom Vercetti and Ken Rosenberg take over
Actually, it is not confirmed, that thats Vic. Lance, had two brothers. Vic, and Petey. I'm guessing, that Petey got killed, in VC, because the accent and body-type difference.

To be honest.I feel bad for Claude.Almost every gang betrays him in this game.The Triads,The Leones,The Yardies,The Diablos and many more.It makes you feel bad for Claude cuz after this when you enter Portland you have little chance to get back out alive.And Portland was my favorite Island.The Mechanic and poor people.The low class cars made me feel good.And it gave a nice home feeling.Sucks for Claude he isn't safe as soon as he enters portland.It's unfortunate for the people who liked Portland
Rockstar deliberately put this on so that there are no similarities between gta 3 and gta liberty city stories
By far the most tedious if not the hardest mission in GTA 3
If you fail you gotta drive back to Asuka and then drive back to Salvatore then wait a couple minutes to actually start the mission
4 weeks later i beat gta 3, vice city, san andreaa and gta 4 💀💀
Since I recently replayed this game for the first time in years, I completely forgot this vantage point existed. Instead, they noticed me, tried to escape but the game's AI messed up and they accidentally drove off a cliff onto the beach. When I followed them, they weren't even concerned about me. They just kept trying to drive back up the cliff unsuccessfully. I finally ended it by tossing a grenade at the car which took a few tries because they wouldn't stay still.
The real advantage of this page is helping me to do missions easily

Get to the rooftop with the sniper rifle at the vantage point. You'll be able to take down Salvatore easily. It is marked in 'blue arrow'.
This could have been the Sindaccos opportunity to come back to Liberty City
1. Salvatore is dead
2. The Yakuza and Cartel are leaderless and destroying each other at Fort Staunton. Torrington can be conquered again
3. Triads and Diablos aren't that much of a threat so they can now reside in Hepburn Heights, Red Light District and Chinatown.
4. Forellis are damn near extinct

The mafia neighborhood in GTA 3 was by far the toughest neighborhood to drive through in any GTA game. Those shotguns were deadly

I like how in GTA III you can do missions in more ways.
Rockstar gave you what to do, but not how to do it.
They were basically like: "ok, so there is this one guy, who needs to be dead, here's where he is, and the time he's coming, you can kill him how you like, idc just kill the guy."
But, in their latest games, it's more of a movie like, scripted experience.
It makes me feel like a little kid, who can't do shit on his own.
A UA-camr, NakeyJakey, made a video called "Rockstar's Game Design is Outdated" and he describes this way better than how I did in this comment.

That’s more of the not so advanced programming, I would say. Back then they just programmed the mission to finish as long as the target was dead. While this meant you could kill him anyway you like, it just destroys the immersion in the game

I've never finished GTA 3 before. I started playing to finish without using game codes. I had no problems with this task, but this task really pushed me too.
