Should have been top 8 teams in the playoffs no byes and decided by BCS rankings. These playoffs are turning into a mess and I saw it coming a mile away. Committee is extremely flawed. BCS was the best model but all it needed was a playoff.
Agreed. What the country does not EVER need is the AD of a school who the won the natty the year prior after a season in which that particular program apparently tested out every cheating method known to man in charge of the playoff committee the year after such egregious acts were committed. It's insanity. Smh
Mike Frank needs to cool down a little bit. Texas did pay a consequence for losing their championship game. They dropped from a 2 seed to 5 and no longer get a bye. Penn State also dropped. They just didn’t drop behind Notre Dame which is not unreasonable. Let’s not act like there’s that big of a difference between the schedule of Texas, Penn State and Notre Dame. Notre Dame doesn’t exactly have the toughest schedule this year either. I agree the top 4 teams (conference champs or not) should get the bye.
I know this is unrealistic. Whether you keep or get rid of conferences, here's what I'd suggest. Expand POs to 16 teams. I think that's coming regardless. Then use the polls to seed 1-16 using all the known metrics (e.g., head-to-head, SoS, etc.). The round of 16 is 16 at 1, 15 at 2, 14 at 3 etc. After the games in the round of 16, in the round of 8 re-seed 1-8 and repeat home games for the higher seeds, 8 at 1, 7 at 2, 6 at 3 etc. The semi-finals can be played in two of the traditional NY6 bowl games. Same with the NC game, play it in the Rose, Sugar, Orange etc. (which ever bowl didn't host a semi-finals game). The NY6 bowls can share and rotate the semis and finals from year to year. Regardless, college football will always crown a "mythical national champion" no matter what system the conferences and NCAA devise and how many teams make the POs! If you ask me (and no one is), give me the wholesome charm of the olden days, when we're having these same debates after the traditional bowl games.
First time dialing in fellows… liked the show from here in central PA!

Where do you guys get the second “r” or the “e” in Faraimo?
Not sure why Mike is having such a hard time with this?
Mike needs to say Plaxico Burress, then apply the same pronunciation towards his son. No way he was calling him Plaxico "Bur-ress".
