@@TK-ev and the "non mahomes years" were Mcnabb and Vick years guys who went #2 in 1999 and then #1 in the 2001 draft like, yeah he's going to do better with that kind of talent level.
When you do the "with out their GOAT QB" you forget Mahomes was MVP his first year leading the team as their best player, lighting the league on fire, "The best start of a career in any sport" as Nick put it. Brady looked like a civilian, at the time, for almost a decade. Their paths werent the same, you can say Bill won with an without a star at QB but Andy didnt. Andy needed the "player with the best start to a career", and definetly one of the best QBs we have ever seen, to get him those SB wins. And even then, when Brady was on the Patriots, they were stil the team to beat, stopping KC from geting to the SB in a head-to-head.
I think this is more so that Bill wants full control. Shanahan offered him the DC job before the start of the season. He declined cause he wants to be a head coach but also wants to be the GM as well.
Its insane to compare the quarterbacks andy has had, without mahomes, to the ones bill has had, without brady. One was working with Matt cassel, the other one had a number 1 overall pick...
Something that doesn't get asked in these debates that I find a fascinating question: which QB carried the dynasty more, Brady or Mahomes? It really feels like Mahomes has carried Andy into the GOAT convo. But Brady won 3 SBs with Bill carrying him with defensive dominance. The NFL has trended towards offense-friendly rules in the last 15 years and Andy has benefited greatly. Bill is still the guy who flattened the 99 and 17 Rams with powerhouse offenses. I find it interesting that Bill dominated the end of the 'defensive' era of the NFL and Andy is dominating the beginning of the 'offensive' era.
The Chiefs were 12-4 the season before drafting Mahomes and he is now getting carried by his defense it’s not even close no QB in history carried a franchise more then Brady did also Brady lead the NFL in Pass TDS in 2002 his 1st full season he was the best QB in the NFl for 2nd and 3rd SB
I'm afraid that the same unspoke reasons that Kraft can't get into the HOF are the same reasons Bill won't get another head coaching job. I kind of believe that the league might be icing him out because of what the Patriots did for the last 2 decades.
Nick, how is that Robert Kraft thing working out for him now. You have always been one silly man. Bill does not HAVE to do anything. Watch the man make the playoffs next year.
Part of the Bi laws were him allowing his son to be the head coach in waiting and allowing matt patricia to be a coach total control, and his son the be the next coach thats ultimate leverage dude
Wildes immediately started to cope after seeing the without brady and mahomes graphic 😂 lots of people care about and bring up all of bills short comings without brady. Some fair some a little nit picky but its definitely part of the discussion quite often
A head coach is as good as his qb, and a qb is as good as his head coach. You need at least the two of them to be continuously great. Belichek struggled without a good qb. Brady went from belichek to Arians, but when Arians left things weren’t so hot. That shows it’s a combination that you need to have a great qb and great coach and work together to create a good team.
Head Coaching, today, in the NFL is about resume, offensive play calling, and being a leader of men Head Coaching, today, in college is about recruiting, personality, and relating to young people. NFL coaching is way more difficult, because NFL players have already made it. Now, you have to get them to care. College players will do anything to get to the NFL, so the coach has much more leverage.
@@avinashreji60there are maybe a handful of coaches that come to mind that have won SBs without QBs who were great in their era. None have won multiple times without one.

@@matthewsawczyn6592The Chiefs were 12-4 the seasons before drafting Mahomes and then won AFC West with him on the bench in 2017 wow what a big drop off
The GOAT needs to have TWO things: Rings with more than One QB AND a successful coaching tree. Neither Andy Reid nor Bill Belichick have either of these.
I disagree with Brou. I don’t think Dak is good enough to win a Super Bowl. He is talented for sure, but Romo and Cutler were too. They just didn’t have it in them.
What about the simple not that sensational point, if the best nfl coach ever spending his Twilight coaching days educating young men and bringing nfl knowledge to them. He does exactly what Tom brady criticed isnt there. He brings a real developmental programm to college and coaching expertise to prepare them for the pros.
Sorry, no blemishes for Andy Reid? Do we not remember the Philly Era, I mean he did get let go because he had a reputation for bad clock management and not getting it done in the biggest moments.. Yes he’s changed that perception in KC, but he had it.

He has 8! don't short change bill for your narrative.
Exactly that "only 6" argument was utterly disingenuous. The debate is best coach period not simply a narrowed down field.
@@TK-ev and the "non mahomes years" were Mcnabb and Vick years guys who went #2 in 1999 and then #1 in the 2001 draft like, yeah he's going to do better with that kind of talent level.
I think the bar too high he should go to Pop Warner they would definitely take him.
Can’t believe we’re having a Mj vs LeBron debate for coaching
Im surprised he wasn’t offered a head coaching position at FSU.
This reminds me when Bill Walch went bk to Stanford for a few years and got the program a few more wins each yr.
Wildes the goat best show on tv
Homie about to coach these kids, get firsthand knowledge on those players, then get an NFL HC job and draft his boys!
I SEE YOU BILL!!!
Just show you how much brady work to prop up that fraud HC with his trash teammates.
He did not look like a civilian for almost a decade. He was the best player on the team and a pro bowler by year 3
Brady was a civilian for almost a decade? Huh?
I think this is more so that Bill wants full control. Shanahan offered him the DC job before the start of the season. He declined cause he wants to be a head coach but also wants to be the GM as well.
100% agree with Brou that if Bellichek actually cared abt the record he won’t have taken the job.
College makes so much more sense for him with NIL. He can be GM/HC as he always wanted.
Nick you cannot say that you didn’t bring up the blemishes on Bill’s career when you LITERALLY brought it up in the same sentence. Goofball
I literally thought UNC meant Shannon Sharpe lmao
Its insane to compare the quarterbacks andy has had, without mahomes, to the ones bill has had, without brady. One was working with Matt cassel, the other one had a number 1 overall pick...
Everything doesn’t have to be who’s greater. Bill Andy Paul brown and Vince Lombardi, all the greatest coaches.
Nick saying bill belichek won’t have any other job like he’s got bills he needs to pay😂😂
Bill needs his "Brady in Tampa" season to solidify his GOAT claim
No CFP, however, watch UNC players coming out of the draft. Rounds 2-5 look out. He can produce solid fundamental players.
Wildes making a "Bill Russell is the GOAT" argument without ssying it. Well done.
Brou almost said, Belichick had Bernie Mack and I don't why but that cracked me up.
Bill the best coach ever
I'm afraid that the same unspoke reasons that Kraft can't get into the HOF are the same reasons Bill won't get another head coaching job. I kind of believe that the league might be icing him out because of what the Patriots did for the last 2 decades.
UNC had the GOAT basketball player, GOAT football player, and now the GOAT football coach
Nick, how is that Robert Kraft thing working out for him now. You have always been one silly man. Bill does not HAVE to do anything. Watch the man make the playoffs next year.
Head to head matters a lot when it comes to coaching, so how can anyone make a confident case for Andy Reid unless he wins at least 7 rings?
Part of the Bi laws were him allowing his son to be the head coach in waiting and allowing matt patricia to be a coach total control, and his son the be the next coach thats ultimate leverage dude
I don’t think people think of Bill Walsh’s record with the Stanford Cardinals?
Wildes immediately started to cope after seeing the without brady and mahomes graphic 😂 lots of people care about and bring up all of bills short comings without brady. Some fair some a little nit picky but its definitely part of the discussion quite often
Great move for Belichick! All he has to do is beat a very beatable Clemson program to win the ACC and he'll make UNC a perennial playoff program
Dear wildes, friend of the show. I love your segments. Fellow chiefs guy. Are you sticking with the chiefs?
Signed,
Ricky and Ricky.
he has played MacHomie and Reid twice and has beaten him twice!!!!
How would this impact Bill’s legacy? 😂 yall say anything. He can coach at UNC for 2 years and come back to the NFL.
He’s 72 years old, he doesn’t have 2 years to just wait around for the NFL
@ he’s 72 and rich, his 72 is like 65 for you and I haha. He’ll be fine
At his age?
@jjg10418 still has 8 rings total, He deserves the benefit of the doubt even if he fails at UNC
Andy will surpass bill by the time Andy is 72. Andy will be referred to as 🐐 in 10 years
Belichick beat Reid in a superbowl that has to matter
A head coach is as good as his qb, and a qb is as good as his head coach.
You need at least the two of them to be continuously great.
Belichek struggled without a good qb.
Brady went from belichek to Arians, but when Arians left things weren’t so hot.
That shows it’s a combination that you need to have a great qb and great coach and work together to create a good team.
Head Coaching, today, in the NFL is about resume, offensive play calling, and being a leader of men
Head Coaching, today, in college is about recruiting, personality, and relating to young people.
NFL coaching is way more difficult, because NFL players have already made it. Now, you have to get them to care. College players will do anything to get to the NFL, so the coach has much more leverage.
I love it. He was a winner in the NFL and if he can win 2 college championships hes now no doubt the best coach ever
Unbiased Titans fan: I’ve never heard anyone once talk about Spygate or the Drew Bledsoe years with Beli. I think Wildes might be kinda right on this
Every time I listen to count the rings folks I feel like I lose 1/10 of my brain cells
Question did Andy Reid win a Super Bowl without Patrick Ma-Homie
Nick only thinks Andy Reid is better because he coaches the Chiefs. That's what this is really about which is sad.
nah bro the non legend qb record matters too
Well, Reid can get credit because he went to a Super Bowl without Mahomes.
@@avinashreji60there are maybe a handful of coaches that come to mind that have won SBs without QBs who were great in their era. None have won multiple times without one.
@@zackhurwitz9441 it’s not the SB it’s the record without them
@HardCold-Alquan He beat Reid in a superbowl with a borderline Hall of Famer with McNabb and an AFC Championship game when Andy had Mahomes. That matters
Comparing the coaches stats without Brady and Mahomes playing is laughable and ridiculous. Nick, you are a fool.
Andy is lucky he’ll have Mahomes until his retirement. The drop off would be stark
Right? when Reid had the #2 draft pick in McNabb for his career and then got a #1 former pick in Vick. Like Mahomes is his worst draft pick so far and he just keeps getting so lucky on qbs.
Yep....04 Belechik beat him head to head. Nick is trying to hard to talk around it but Reid got a while to go.
30 plus years of being around the game and this year was too much. Makes sense
16:34 is Nick okay??
Andy is lucky he’ll have Mahomes until his retirement. The drop off would be stark
