    When my husband told me, "ill nail the doors and windows closed, and burn the house down w you and the children inside." I believed him. I immediately began to make plans to leave him...and from then on,
    I was preparing in my mind. The "marriage" was O-V-E-R....over. i did everything i could to keep the peace, never said "no" in the bedroom.....and the day we left, he left for work at 630am, the moving van came at 930am for the few items i was taking w us.( i put our few things in storage) and the children and i left. When he got home,
    No one was there. 😐...
    I left chicago area w 4 children under 5(the 8 mo old had pneumonia)
    I had $26 and a phillips66 card and i had to get to Hollywood florida. Thank God we made it.......😔🤦🏻‍♀️

      @@JoR-g3c I really felt like "God hid us"..... the "x" hired private detectives,
      They would.find my husband......but he would lose them on his way home.
      ...........when we finally wound up in court w him claim that I interfered w his visitation rights, which of course, I did.....SOMEONE gave him the idea that he would automatically win the court case and be able to take all 4 children w him, that day.......as the afternoon was coming to an end, he "lost it". He jumped over his atty table and came running across the court room w his hands outstretched to strangle me
      There were 2 armed guards in the court. They stood and both cocked their riot guns at the same time.
      Total silence ensued.....and the judge said, "mr "x" SIT
      DOWN !" he shouted over a microphone......his female atty stood up, slammed her briefcase and said, "find yourself another atty"......
      And the court put the children and I up in a private littke quiet apt away from where OUR home actually was.....it WAS in the bayou.
      The local sheriff's escorted him to the edge of town and said something like,"Git offn
      mah land."......🤦🏻‍♀️......and thank God I was able to finish rearing my children as normal people instead of maniacs. Thank u for asking......👋🏻👵🏻

      @layla carter you don’t know that for sure. Not at any point in time was race every a focus on this situation. Why make everything out to be about race? I get it I’m an African American male living in North Carolina being pulled over and my own experiences with the law even though I have a clean record other than driving without my glasses years ago. But this story was about a beautiful mother, daughter, friend, sister and woman who left family, friends and her 3 kids behind after having her life taken from her and everyone else.

      @Victor Hollingsworth I commend you sir. You’re 110% correct. This is a horribly sad case. My personal opinion - if this exact story would have a woman of any other race, religion, etc, it would not change the fact that 3 innocent children are now growing up without their beautiful mother and in reality, without a father. No human being should have to go through anything like this. Take care!

It seems like you haven't experienced much of humanity or interpersonal relationships in your life, but you should know that people talk. People vent to their friends. And, this will amaze you, but sometimes people love each other so much, they look out for each other and care for each other's safety...especially women, who are vulnerable . A huge red flag for abuse is isolating the spouse and forcing the spouse into silence through fear of violence. Many women understand this and look out for it. It's not 'nosy' if you believe your loved one's life is in danger. Lots of shitty marriages broken up by 'friends' if you ask me. Holy lord, my heart was broken but empowered at the same time. I'm so proud of him for bringing the heat to someone so flippant about what he's done. Bravery in the utmost degree, braver than his piece of shit cop (1312) ass father at 5 years old.
    The check in on the kids had me in tears. It's amazing that the family was so quick to tell them what had happened to their mother and gave them the relief of knowing they would keep them safe, like holy shit, thats incredible of them to not sugarcoat it. Those kids are happy not because they 'moved on', but because they were fully supported and loved while this was happening, and given space to express themselves and grieve. Incredible. • @davemacgyver573
      @davemacgyver573 5 років тому +17

      @D Kahn ,I think that kid is probably going to be a little messed up no matter what. He already knows his dad killed him mom so the better thing in my opinion is for him to be allowed to call the evil act EXACTLY what it is. This false theory that you have to white wash what is bad and put a happy smile on everything isn't helpful to kids. That only encourages them to think that killing their spouse is a normal thing....maybe something they should someday do. No, the proper perspective is to call out evil and allow kids to call out evil when they see/experience it too. You shouldn't have to be 18 or 21 to know what is evil and denounce it. It goes towards forming a pattern if responsible character and judgment.

    • @davemacgyver573
      @davemacgyver573 5 років тому +7

      @D Kahn , I dont see the point you are seeking to make. You play stupid games you win stupid prizes. The two black women in the video seem to be out of line and behaving belligerently. I dont see anything wrong (if say) one of their grandparents spoke to these little boy and told them their mom is a distasteful, hateful, idiot. With no intervention these kids will learn this is "normal" behavior and the ignorance and bad behavior will infest multiple generations. It is good to call out bad behavior when it rears its ugly head, no matter the location. Keeping silent, gives validity to bad behavior. Everyone should seek to inform a child the difference between what is good and bad behavior. Ideally a child should only see good examples, but since that is not always possible, then when they witness (or come to know of evil behavior) then they should also be informed that the bad is BAD. Allowing bad to exist, without calling it out or condemning it, allows it to exist in a formidable mind as normal behavior. What ever we see and experience as a child, tends to become our benchmark for what we believe is "normal". Therefore something that is wrong, bad, or evil, needs to be exposed as not normal or something to be viewed as normal.

      @AshTheOne homicides in the us for 2017 amounted to around 20000 deaths, (for ALL homicides, not just those perpetrated by ex partners). The same number for suicides stands at around 50000, If you're so paranoid about your ex that you HAVE to have a backup even if your ex seems unlike a psychopath, you perhaps should also have them around ALL THE TIME just to protect you from YOURSELF 😱
      Statistically speaking you're a greater threat to your life than your ex 😂😂😂
      But sure, call someone else an idiot because they have the simple capacity to acknowledge how meeting an ex is an extremely common thing and is nowhere near as dangerous as you seem to want to believe it is. Then there's the whole, "bad grammar = idiot" lunacy.

And to have done such an amazing job in raising the kids, to the point people can’t believe how happy they are after all they went through, is… well, I really don’t even have words for how beautiful that is! I get it that some people are in love with the idea of getting vengeance, the problem is the person isn't worth it. Keeping a person behind bars that long ALSO punishes the taxpayer with feeding and putting clothes on their back for 55 years. If you want the guy to suffer pull his skin off with pliers or cover him in honey and chain him to an ant hill. There are cheaper ways to make someone suffer than paying for their food, clothes, shelter for 20 or 55 years on the tax payers dime. At the end of 55 years he will probably of found a way to ignore his conscience and still not feel regret anyhow.

That 40% figure was from a survey, not a scientific study done over 30 years ago and from what I read it included things like shouting at ones mate as ‘spousal abuse’ and didn’t specify who was the aggressor. The 40% figure is very misleading and gives the impression that 4 of 10 officers are physically abusive to their domestic partners.

Hearing them at the end, you can tell they still dont FULLY grasp it and it seems as though they are only repeating what they heard or what they are told...granted, I believe their feelings are true and they really dont have any love left for their dad, just seems like they had someone go over that victim statement with them or had someone with them, guiding them. As a women who 20 years ago and along with her two small children, escaped under cover of night from an extremely abusive alcoholic and crackhead who was also bipolar, I 💯 agree with your comment. I fled with only my children, my life, a hope and a prayer. I ran down the street at around 2 am with my two babies one on each hip, to the waiting police car four houses down. We went to the battered women’s shelter, and I started over. I was granted full custody of the children. I worked hard and got us our own place, 4 cities away. I put myself through college working two jobs and raising my kids, bought a double wide. Got my degrees, got a job in state government, providing a good life for my two children who grew up happy and safe. I bought a nice house. My kids graduated from high school; now my courageous son runs the PT department on his base, is an ammunitions and ballistics specialist in the US Air Force and about to graduate with a BS in forensic psychology, with a minor in sociology, and my talented daughter is a licensed cosmetologist having graduated from the prestigious Paul Mitchell The New School, and is also an artist and photographer. I even found real and actual love that didn’t hurt and abuse and remarried. My cruel, abusive, addicted and mentally ill ex husband?? Well about five years after I left him in the middle of the night, an FBI agent showed up at my door asking when the last time I saw him was. Of course I told him the truth, that there had been no contact in five years. The agent came back several times. He couldn’t tell me what he’d done or why they were looking for him except that he had outstanding warrants, and was suspected of serious criminal activity and I needed to tell them immediately if we heard from him. They also said if I harbored him I could face criminal charges. I was like no chance of that happening!! Of course we never heard from him or saw him. As far as I know he has been on the run ever since. Why did I write all this? Because if someone reading this right now needs help to escape domestic violence, I wanted them to read this and know I wrote it for them. Because maybe this could save someone’s life. So to those wanting to escape, Here is what you have to do: First thing you have to do is GET A PLAN. Coordinate your departure to coincide when the abuser will be gone or sleeping. Very important to escape in secret. And when you leave make sure you go to a shelter so that you are protected. Family and friends cannot protect you like they can. A couple of days before you leave, Secretly Contact the shelter first and arrange for an escape. They will help you, and they will coordinate the police pick up. Prepare yourself if things go wrong. Come up with a story (one women used her back up scenario by pretended to her abuser like she was taking out the garbage, but really it was her bag of clothes. Once outside she ran like hell) or a way out or back up plan. TELL NO ONE AHEAD OF TIME, NO FRIENDS OR FAMILY, THAT YOU HAVE LEFT. ALSO DO NOT TELL THEM THE LOCATION AFTER YOU HAVE LEFT. ONLY THAT YOU ARE SAFE. Even well meaning people can slip up and accidentally give you away. If you feel safer carrying pepper spray or mace as you escape, do so ONLY if you can buy it in secret. If the abuser finds out about the purchase, say you got it for when you are walking through empty parking lots alone like at the grocery store or something. DO NOT FRET ABOUT MATERIAL THINGS YOU MAY HAVE TO LEAVE BEHIND. THEY CAN BE REPLACED. YOUR LIFE AND THE LIVES OF YOUR CHILDREN CANNOT; YOU ALL ARE WHAT MATTERS MOST. YOU CAN DO IT. BUT PLEASE DO IT SAFELY AND QUIETLY. HOW YOU LEAVE AND WHEN COULD BE A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH. BUT YOU CAN BUILD A BETTER LIFE. A LIFE WHERE YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN ARE SAFE. I KNOW BECAUSE I DID. AND IF I DID IT, SO CAN YOU. IF YOU NEED HELP I WILL HELP YOU. JUST MESSAGE ME BACK.

      you really can’t sympathize with that at ALL? what happens if the mother tries to leave with the child and fails, maybe she gets injured or even killed, what will happen to the child? the abuser takes them and runs? the abuser hurts or kills them too? i think having a child complicates the leaving process, because you have to ensure the safety of yourself AND the child/children. i’m sure abusers probably use the child as leverage too, probably threatening to hurt them if they try to leave. and i’m sure it’s even more complicated than this. these are just things i thought of on the spot

      She was not playing when she said she was gonna alert the police about her sister missing

      Absolutely, she's really the one that deserves ALL of the credit. Not only did she get the ball rolling on the investigation, she even adopted her sisters 3 children. That's what TRUE love is towards a siblong. Please forgive me here, I'm NOT trying to sound like a male chauvinist, but Maddox is really the one who is the man in that family. Notice how when he starts to talk, his sisters let him take charge. Not trying to suggest male superiority, but he's just that take charge kind of thing, & his sisters let him be the man. He will be a great "protector" of his sisters in the near future, & I would even surmise he will be an excellent father someday, he definitely won't be anything like the jerk his father is like!

    She wrote in her work computer diary that he threatened to kill the kids! That was when she should have left and took the kids! You NEVER stay if somebody threatens to kill!

      True, but idk, im feeling like she was trying to strategically get out, bcz by his confession, her leaving would result in all their deaths... I think she was trying to leave but not trigger him... She was blindsided by him being "accepting" of the divorce... Else I don't think she would've gone all that way alone knowing his threatened her life and the kids...

      It’s not as easy to “just leave” as you might think. When women in abusive relationships are killed, it happens most often as they’re trying to leave or in the days after leaving. Leaving an abusive relationship is something that has to be done strategically, so it takes planning and time.

      Lukas Weber you are so right 5 years ago I left an abusive relationship and my abuser kept showing up at my jobs and everywhere I’d go it got so bad that since he was from Arizona and I’m from Ohio I moved out of state to Cali so he could never find me again💯he then started making fake Facebook pages to beg in my inbox to take him back when that didn’t work he knew someone who worked at T-Mobile and since that was my service provider at the time he literally had the worker running my name and kept getting all my new numbers once I’d keep changing it smh it got so bad I had to leave T-Mobile and switch to a different service provider Cricket that wasn’t a contract service provider just so he’d stop getting my contact numbers. After all of that he finally gave up and left me alone so you’re right it’s not as easy trust me I know

      Battered women are always deplorable mothers. They gamble the lives of their children because they love their abuser so much more than they love their children.

      I get what you're saying but it wouldn't have been that easy. Plus he'd be the type to find them, kill his kids in front of the wife, then her.

    Mad he couldn't have a wife and kids AND a girlfriend? Then blame the victim.

      What'd he need a girlfriend for? His wife was totally beautiful, and he's got three kids to help raise. Sounds like he was just a totally selfish jerk.
