My opinion sometimes it doesn’t matter how deep of a background check they do sometimes people can turn bad afterwards. Just as some politicians, police, and attorneys do.
That is a very good point.
I read that there was a prior incident with the same owner and his dogs, back in March of last year they chased the same little girl but nothing was done because when the cops showed up to the owners house they couldn't get in touch with him. The fact that they never followed up just pisses me off because this innocent little girls death was 100% preventable had someone been doing their fuckin job.
A dog owner in my neighborhood hid his dogs inside his house after his dogs chased kids waiting at the bus stop. 💔 These people care more about their animals than humans.
Me too! It's extremely frustrating when cops would rather make money from petty traffic tickets when they don't follow up with this kind of thing to prevent further issues. This unfortunately happens a lot.
Knowing this, I would not let my child out to play, even if I was watching them. I would have found a safer place for her to play, but that takes more effort than letting them play in the street. Those dogs should have been taken far more seriously.
These cases are interesting. The guest host is knowledgeable and articulate.
I just wish the host was better.

The owner of those dogs was negligent and need to be charged with at least involuntary manslaughter, convicted, and then sentenced to at least 20 years in prison. May that beautiful little girl rest in peace. 😢💔🙏❤ My condolences to her family and friends.
Amanda B I feel like that’s true but the does not apply to this particular case. There’s no new skill he can learn in prison that will help him get away from another mauling case. He will however have time to reflect and perhaps discontinue having dogs of that breed if he can not properly care, house, and train them
My cat was killed by a dog a few years ago. It was a mastiff, there was a pitbull with it, but the pit didn't join in the attack. Any dog can be aggressive and vicious.
Anduke #253MTG #253EDH I was mauled by a Pit when I was little and I still wouldn’t have held anything against the dog because it was mainly my fault and the way it was raised. I was teasing the dog and stuff. And I agree that any dog could do this because of the way they were raised
You can't train instinct out of a dog. Stop excusing the one breed that's responsible for the majority of dog attacks.

Mortilum I personally am 50/50 with this entire thing and I can agree with the instinct because the reaction of the pit when I teased and messed with it was either it thought I wanted to play and I was a puppy or it thought I was prey. Instinct is what makes an animal an animal. The pit bull is an aggressive dog because it was bred to be a fighting dog but with proper handling, training and discipline the dog will learn what is good and not good. The whole situation depends on the owner and the dog. Most of these attacks are by dogs that aren’t being properly handled by the owner. Yes the instincts of a fighting dog are to for the dog to be able to fight but that doesn’t 100% confirm the dog will be aggressive because it’s based also slightly based of interactions the dog has. I’m sorry if this doesn’t flow well because I’ve been researching on this topic for awhile now because people automatically assume I’m dumb for some reason.

Diane Whipple was mauled by two Perro de Presa Canarios, also called Canary Mastiffs. They are powerful dogs and can weigh 150 pounds. One of the sickest things I learned about this story is that the demand for these dogs went up after she was killed.
In the sf dog mauling incident in 2001 it was two dogs and they were presa canarios (aka canary island mastiffs)not pitbulls.

I hate these stories of people being incarcerated for crimes they didnt commit. My brother is in prison now n has been since his senior year of high school,he is 44 now. He was being scouted by all kinds of colleges in basketball n football n actually had verbally committed to Georgetown. Never in trouble a day in his life,they did DNA that turned out negative ,he was beaten into submission to obtain a confession, no phone call ,no break, no water, no food ,no parent n conflict of interest all over the place because the officer who interrogated him had a run in with our father in the 70s that he remembered, my father n brother shared the same name so this officer remembered n took his anger out on my brother. It basically resembled the central park jogger rape case ,they found some kids n a few friends or others around n made them all suspects even when the DNA proved he didnt participate they told my mom because he was the oldest n signed a paper he thought was for him to make a statement n go home ,it ended up being a confession the dirty cop typed in his words n made him sign while under duress. Everytime I hear about this stuff happening over n over it pisses me off n America wonders why the black ,poor n minority communities have no trust in police, I think it's obvious if you're all watching the news n seeing what's happening. I remember that dog case from 2001 n that lady was so arrogant n blaming the victim. She said the victim had grocery n wore bad perfume n shouldve hurried quicker into her apartment. She blamed her for having a history of being scared of the dogs, so they smelled her fear n it was her fault. I think her attitude was part of the reason she was charged so harshly n her appeal was overturned upholding the original charge. The animal lovers need to understand that everyone is not gonna be a dog or cat lover,you cant be pissed if they aren't. I hate animals ,have since I was a child because my military dad loved those damn Magnum PI dobermans,we had 2 then later he raised pit bulls. Those dogs wouldnt let is in our own yard without him. As soon as we approached the gate off the bus or pulled up in the car with our mom they were literally on the fence trying to chew your face off. She had to blow the horn for my dad to come get us out of the car n walk us in the house n when he had to go to the field we were stuck inside the whole weekend or if we left stuck outside at grandmas til he got back. We were terrified of those dogs that we hated them. I never allowed my kids pets growing up because of that experience. This isnt the normal cute family puppy ,he had trained guard dogs, fucking Cujo but we never had a single break in n no uninvited unwanted company. . This paralegal has got to be the stupidest bitch in the world. Is she.that stupid or smoking meth to not know jail calls are monitored?. She deserved to be caught for being stupid alone plus the unethical unsafe shit she did. Another reason people dont like to stick their neck out because no such thing as witness protection n confidentiality if anyone can get access to you, how r u willing to risk your life to testify for them? I am from the belief that you mind your business n never intervene in a dispute. My cousin was shot n killed trying to stop his neighbor who was beating his girlfriend to a bloody pulp. All he said to the guy on his way out of his apartment was "hey man I think you're gonna hurt her,why dont you let her up"? he was shot n killed on his apartment stairs. We were taught go on with your business as if you dont see, but watch what's happening n call police so u can report the aggressor. That way you r not condoning it or ignoring it or directly intervening. I dont know how this popped up but I'm glad it did I enjoyed this n will subscribe. I could write a book based on things I've experienced n been through, I'm thinking about trying that, any advice out there?........shannon b

In the first case covered, it makes me so angry that after years & multiple requests, the coroner wouldn't answer questions. A TV camera shows up and the coroner is SO helpful. I call bulls--t!

In my experience I would NEVER own 2 pitbulls! Especially 2 males (i don't know the dogs sex in this case) this owner should be held responsible. I can't imagine the fear this little girl must have suffered
It is necessary to say "allegedly" because many ppl dont know the difference between dog breeds. One of many reasons pitt bulls have such a bad rep is they get blamed for alot of maulings because ppl without breed knowledge will call anything a pittbull.

My heart goes out to the parents and family of the little girl that lost her life to those 3 dogs, I honestly believe the owner of those dogs SHOULD face criminal chargers, especially when the father of the little girl went and tried to speak to him a week previously.

Most pet-related violence could've been prevented had they been given a more stable upbringing. Left to roam loose, they may never learn rules and boundaries, dogs being domesticated and not having their own social structure to fall back on. Left too loose, they may grow up completely feral, having never been socialized for human interaction. Raised in too hostile a home environment, they'll learn that behavior. It happens with some dog breeds more than others, based on what their owners were looking for in a dog, but it can happen to any dog of any breed.
We had a neighbor with a golden retriever and that dog attacked everyone in the neighborhood and the dog warden didn't take it seriously. That dog attacked a realtor and gave her over 400 stitches. The lady moved and I think the realtor went after the owner after I told the realtor how the dog bit people prior and these people had to get stitches. The dog was a GRIN. Golden retriever in need. So any dog can be vicious!!!
I just want to add the dog warden told me I could discharge a weapon if the dog comes in my uard. Ummm hello... my kids were 7 to 14 and I'm not always outside with them and I'm not giving my teenagers weapons.
In the San Francisco case, Ms. Whipple was NOT attacked by a Pit Bull. She was killed by TWO Presa Canarios, a dog much larger, much more aggressive, very dangerous dogs, with a bite strength, well exceeding a Pit Bulls. The average weight of a male Preso is 130 lbs. It is ALWAYS the owner's fault if you knowingly own an aggressive dog, and it's ALWAYS the owner's fault if YOUR dog IS aggressive. She should get life in prison. And, so should the man that let his dogs run free by not properly securing them.
Its always pitbulls but people still wanna act like it just the owners that are the problem. Yes the owners are a major problem with these dogs but these dogs are clearly a violent breed and shouldn't be available for common ownership. I said what I said.
If you are proven to falsely accuse someone of rape you should do a minimum mandatory 10 years. They need to stop protecting these disgusting vermin. I'm glad she was unsuccessful in ruining his life, even though he wasted 5+ years in prison for no reason!

It shouldnt even be a thing though, the system is so messed up 😡 Then hearing about a judge and a paralegal, who are supposed to be the good guys, committing these horrible crimes, just baffles my mind.
About the dog attack, I think it's important to remember that it's not important what types of dog it is, just as it's not important if we are black, white or asian, there is bad in good in every race. The fact that this man was asked to secure his property and didnt do it, knowing that he has 3 potentially dangerous dogs makes him guilty. Even if he doesnt end up in jail, he should be banned from ever owning a dog again.
Definitely a lot of things we need to work on as a society.

Yep, here comes a Pit-Bull owner comment: I know they are a dangerous breed. But, my Luna-Belle is so sweet and we NEVER, EVER, EVER let her off her leash. Because, with a Pit, one cannot predict their behavior. Pits are known to have a "streak" in them: so be careful for others. Luna is an angel, but she never runs without a leash.
