I know how you feel, I do the same thing! They are great episodes, all though the things involved are horrific terrible things. But we learn things from watching these, pay attention to them, remember, these shows can save your lives, they give some answers as to what to look out for, or things to do to prevent it from happening to you or someone you know, also keep records like diaries if you think something is wrong, you know what i mean? I watch these to learn, it benefits everyone!
Exactly. And it was them saying they found the same type of ratchet strap at his place that was making him look guilty. But they never said if they found both pieces of the strap at his place. Those straps come in 2 pieces, so if the one they found at his place had both pieces, then it would be clear that the piece they found on the Jeep wasn't his. I know a lot of people that have those same exact straps because they were cheap and places like Walmart sold a lot of them.
And sadly many of them probably still think of him as the guilty party. That's why false allegations are so bad, but these "listen and believe" twats seem to be perfectly ok with ruining the lives of innocent people.
Two things I was thinking: 1. Anyone can go to walmart or whatever and buy the same strap. Doesn't and shouldn't incriminate the guy. 2. Considering my first point...it didn't help his case that he kind of blew off the cops because he was "busy." If they came in asking about my wife's biological child missing, you can bet your ass that I'd drop everything I was doing to talk to that cop.

Not only his life but hers. I think she knew this guy wanted to them and set them up for him. The whole “getting mad at her for bringing them over” is lie. She called to over to set them up for him to murder them. That lady is just dangerous as him. I believe they were a serial killing couple in the making but she just has some sort of empathy that you can’t have to be a killer. Notice she said she drove the truck back ? This mean she was there watching the murders. These people always remove themselves from these killings when in reality they were there watching and enjoying it. People that live in small towns are usually scared to live in big cities because of high crime rates but they’re not looking at the fact that most of these cases are from small town. Just look at all the cases on This channel and most serial killers in this countries history. Most of these sick crimes are happening in small towns because they have a sense that they’re hidden from the public which means people are less likely to see them commitIng these crimes, and also these police departments are small and don’t have the resources to investigate crimes like these so it’s the perfect mix. If that lady didn’t say anything they probably would have never solved this case. They simply don’t have the resources to investigate a case like this for years.
I don't fault the bio mom for giving her son up for adoption, especially when she knows her lifestyle wouldn't be best for him. I'm so glad Lee was cleared and an innocent man didn't go to prison. Thank goodness they found them for their families.
She cared enough to admit she wouldn't have been able to properly care for Riley, which is more than far too many others in similar circumstances are willing to do. Instead, they keep their kid(s) in squalor and neglect their needs while thinking they're doing their best.

It takes a lot of courage to approach a possible suspect armed only with a mic and camera. If they did kill these kids, what's stopping them from killing you for snooping around.
Dont be just watch who the hell they are talking to. ALWAYS should anything happen is somebody close. Unless you let them go out at any hour of the night...
I certainly hope Mom's boyfriend got an apology! If this wouldn't have came to light he would've lived the rest of his life under a cloud of suspicion. This is the problem with rumors, GOSSIP, and unfair judgement!
Well why was he being suspicious?! If my step kid goes missing I’ll strip down to my drawls to prove my innocence! When you refuse to comply, it’s very suspicious! Why make the detectives waste time investigating you, when you can clear yourself & they can continue focusing on the “REAL” suspect! Same thing happened with Jon Benet ! They focused on her family for so long the “Real” killer got Away! Also I should note: I believe the family did it, but the Detectives say otherwise! So imma go with that

what’s scary is the moms boyfriend could’ve easily found himself locked up in prison for something he never did. All it takes is somebody saying they saw him towing the truck, if another “eye witness” would of corroborated that same story or somebody else made something up to frame him he would’ve been more than likely fucked. That’s the reason we have so many false imprisonments. We’re so desperate for justice sometimes we end up putting innocent men/women behind bars. Glad they got it right this time.
You don't know how wrong you are. Jerrod was a very easy target because of his background. Henderson was arrested before she became a witness and was facing 40 years for 9 felony charges. She so happens to become a witness and all of her felony charges are dropped. Doesn't make sense. Morgan the "witness" last 2 husband's and her son have died while with her. Strange right? Morgan was also in position of a large amount of cash that had Riley's fingerprints on it along with a necklace that the girl was wearing. There is a lot more to this that was not added. So yes you are right in the sense that the wrong man could be convicted you just had it backwards.
Jake Moore So what did Dougiee have backward? Stated an innocent man would have possibly been wrongly convicted and sentenced for a crime not committed, but glad that the person who was ostracized by the community was not immediately formally charged for the crime, and that “possibly” one of the alleged involved was then determined to be guilty? Therein, the female “witness”, after facing several felony counts, decides to coordinate the scenario where she was innocent and a threatened victim, voluntarily gives testimony to the whereabouts and history of the victims?
I was mind blown that they didnt go further into that. They suck at being detectives if you have to solve a case by some crazy person admitting what happened at a traffic stop
the cops never said who they were suspicious of. I am sure they were suspicious of everyone who the kids visited and I can bet the last one to see them alive especially.
Well one the mom refused to help search for her son that kind of leaves suspicion I’m glad that she wasn’t guilty of this but she sure looks like a loser anyway choosing drugs over her children

Do you know what happened to them? Woman (cool as a cucumber): Nope. They left after 40 minutes. No idea what happened to them. [Few months later...] Traffic cop: Right, so I'm going to have to write you up for this broken tail light... I've been listening to these for days ... the last suggestion that came up was of a brutal murder from my home town. Seriously, that was a strange rabbit hole twist.
If not for that woman coming forward, this case would never had been solved. Better late than never, I suppose. I can`t imagine the terror those young teens must have endured at the hands of a deranged monster. So much evil out there.
Based on what she said and how they described her boyfriend, I am guessing it was fear. He became enraged because she was hanging out with people "without his permission" and then brutally killed them. I would have been terrified I was next if I said anything, personally. I can't really blame her for keeping quiet. She told police immediately after she was in their custody on an unrelated incident.
I don't think she should've gotten charged at all. Yeah it was bad that she didn't turn him in sooner, but the fact that she eventually did makes up for it. Without her finally turning him in he probably never would've been caught. In the future if people know that they will get charged for something like that, then they won't turn the murderer in because they don't want to get punished.
In her testimony she tells what happened and how she was forced down on her knees in front of the minehole and she watched the teens die, thinking she was next. The guy then threatened to decapitate her if she would ever go to the cops, also stating that even if he were to go to jail, he could get her killed from behind bars. And worst of all he threatened the life of her son. So she was too scared for her life and the life of her child to come forward. That's her statement and I can see why she would be scared and not come forward if things truly did go that way. I'm truly glad that she eventually did tell what happened so these kids can have some justice.
Agreed.. I believe that’s probably the real story. Her version seems to be a bit far-fetched, even for the most jealous and evil of boyfriends, to be so enraged that a man (with his female girlfriend) is hanging out with his girlfriend that he drives the tied-up couple to the perfect spot as if it was... premeditated.. and then kills them there? Hmmm it is, however, the most perfect story to absolve oneself of the crime because you thought the police were pulling you over because they found evidence about what you did and were arresting you for murder.
Well.......excuse me .. My bad. I was making a point. Of Course it would not be possible to actually do what I said. Must not be the comment that's dumb , after all your the only one who took it literal.
@Michael Edwards do you honestly believe if a family member was murdered , that the people who loved them get over it and move on within a 6 month period ? Wow .Seriously ?
This is just me reading between the lines, but I think she was selling drugs to the couple when they were at her house. Who knows why things escalated to murder, but I feel strongly drugs were involved somehow. A 17 and 18 year old don't typically go to the house of a much older "friend" to "chat" is what brings me to this conclusion, that and the murderer's gf was on shrooms the night she was pulled over for speeding. Poor kids didn't deserve what they got no matter what...especially the girl. I fear she was killed simply because she was with her boyfriend that night and thus a witness.
Yeah, I agree. Something wasn't disclosed in the video. I was also wondering the relation between the kids and those people but it was never mentioned either.
My guess is they were buying drugs of some kind. It would explain the seemingly odd relationship and random visit. It also explains the killers paranoia/rage

Practically cut off from the outside world, they have as little to do with outsiders as possible. @@whitneygracelyn5504 That's a good question. We know that she had a much more central role in the sexual assaults once the videotapes of some of the rape and torture were available for review. To the point that those involved in the case have publicly expressed doubt that a plea bargain deal would have been struck had the tapes been admitted as evidence. Remember, Paul's conviction was literally secured using her version of events, events in which only the murder victims, Paul, and Karla were apart of. Paul even insisted that while he tortured and raped the girls with Karla, it was actually Karla that killed them. It's hard if not impossible to know which one to believe. I would imagine at the very least she had profound issues in the empathy department, and likely had some deep attraction to things like dominance/submission and sexual sadism. He seemed to be telling the truth to me, but the tow strap felt damning. I was starting to think the mom somehow did it and he was unawares because she seemed a bit more guilty in her mannerisms. Seems likely they both have issues with drugs so that was probably it
An eye witness and circumstantial evidence made it plausible, and the unwillingness to cooperate furthered suspicion. I do wonder about the testimony, though. The Jeep was driven in, so at best the witness would have seen a bearded man driving in and out of the area, but not towing the Jeep. Once again shows how unreliable eye witnesses can be.

Fuck u mean can we talk on these kids right now?! I’m busy!” hahahaha He canNOT be bothered by these missing kids lol
I think it illustrates a good point though. If the case hadn't been truly "blown wide open" by the confession and then finding the bodies, I wouldn't be surprised if many UA-cam commentators would be so sure it was the boyfriend and maybe the mum even covering for him. Like if you cut the video or only play it until 15:51.
Police always say people are "uncooperative" if they dont drop everything right away. I can see why if they are afraid people are hiding or destroying evidence. But by then saying someone is "uncooperative" to the public, they are giving the impression that that person is guilty or hiding something. It might be better if they kept that info quiet until a case is solved or closed. Since some uncooperative people, may be innocent and the public's doubt of that, can have a heavy and negative impact on their life.
If he truly did go talk to them the next day he should sue the police department. I guarantee that that statement from them caused him to get harassed and threatened. We can see that news agencies were harassing him. These were teens he likely did not know or knew very little of. If the police wanted to question me about something and I were busy, I absolutely would ask to talk to them later, which, since detectives don't work 24/7, it would likely be the following day. I can't afford to miss work or lose my job. I cannot afford to miss tests and other deadlines for school. How the heck women finds themselves in relationships with these killers, and the sick part is they defend these monsters and sometimes becomes as sick as their partners
Majority of women like bad men. The good men are single left to die alone. Ever heard the saying nice guys finish last. I never feel bad when women get beat up by their bad boy boyfriends/husbands. They know what they signed up for. She rejected all the good men to chase the asshole
I saw it happen first hand. The guy raped her and she never came forward about the abuse, but then she changed. She turned into a spitting image of her husband. Including harrassment, theft, showing up at my house uninvited when I'm not home, lying to me and those around me. The constant abuse changes a person. That doesn't make what she did right and frankly her husband belongs in prison for the terrible things he has done to his wife and other women.

This poor Lee guy was living as a guilty man in the eyes of town until they found the real guy
Two things I was thinking:

OverDose the implication is that he’d killed before, but his victims were never innocent.
Emma yeah but his idea of innocence is flawed since only the girl was innocent not her boyfriend
he might be a veteran with ptsd
How was the boy not innocent
I’m glad that crime watch is putting the parts into 1 video.

She cared enough to admit she wouldn't have been able to properly care for Riley, which is more than far too many others in similar circumstances are willing to do.

Right! That's what I was thinking lol
I agree with you... that hardly ever happens.
Yes everyone runs from the camera and being questioned.
It’s a rare but wonderful phenomenon.
what’s scary is the moms boyfriend could’ve easily found himself locked up in prison for something he never did.
Therein, the female “witness”, after facing several felony counts, decides to coordinate the scenario where she was innocent and a threatened victim, voluntarily gives testimony to the whereabouts and history of the victims?

the cops never said who they were suspicious of. I am sure they were suspicious of everyone who the kids visited and I can bet the last one to see them alive especially.

The girlfriend deserves more charges
Prison sex slave.
So basically they were killed for just hanging out with an adult WOOOOOOW OKAY LOGICAL

Hmmm
it is, however, the most perfect story to absolve oneself of the crime because you thought the police were pulling you over because they found evidence about what you did and were arresting you for murder.

The girlfriend had more to do with it then she's letting on if he was already locked up then why didn't she come forward sooner.

I feel the murderer’s girlfriend had MUCH more to do with the teen’s deaths, than she’s letting on. It reminds me of the Paul Bernardo and Karla killings....Karla would lure the unsuspecting girls (one being her own sister) to Paul....almost like she’s offering him a “gift”. I feel this woman did the same thing- she basically lured these 2 teens to her place....knowing her boyfriend was sick in the head...and then let him have his way. Ppl are more apt to trust a woman, than a man.
This is just my opinion...but it seems more likely, than him just getting pissed off about 2 teens chilling with his girlfriend...no?
It doesn’t make sense...totally agree.
Ur right...she did. I wonder if she was into that kinda shit before Paul...or if she was playing in to his sadistic fantasies.
You don't just steal tranquilizers from work to give to your sister so you and your partner can rape her unconscious body without getting some kind of thrill out of it yourself.
Such unbelievably good points!! Well said! That definitely makes sense...she obviously already had some deep seeded issues looooong before Paul. It’s sad...I will never understand how a human being can sexually assault and then kill their own sister!!! That bitch has got some deep-seeded issues. I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t “plant the seed” in Paul’s head. There are so many ppl over the years, that I have heard say ‘that she is far more crazy than him’....u never know 🤔
I don't buy the story of him just being mad about them just showing up without his permission. There is way more to this that isn't being said. Will we ever know the real reason???? That remains to be seen.
I went to high school with the girl. She was pretty cool and a fun person. When we heard about this it was really heart breaking we all still remember here. Rip breezy and rylie.
I think Lee Sheppard got a bad deal out of this video, very clear overtones that he was involved and no form of retraction by the producers whatsoever.

Dear Heather: My question is why they are "telling" at all. How is it possible for the suspect here to get a fair trial after this show nailed him publicly like this ? I believe in the freedom of the press, but I say that a person getting a fair trial is much more important than freedom of the press. Are you aware of the problem of "wrongful convictions" ? An eye witness and circumstantial evidence made it plausible, and the unwillingness to cooperate furthered suspicion. I do wonder about the testimony, though. Nice of them to make themselves feel better.
Naturally, if it were someone close to me, that would be a different story and I am sure both my employer and school would gladly work with me.
