If you know, you know...totally agree! Rimini looks wonderful!
I live here and there is nothing to be worry about in Rimini really 😂 comparing to Bologna, when you see vagabonds in the middle of the day, and a lot of dirty dangerous places, I know what I tell. Especially Rimini is great in non touristic season from October to May.
You should go to see also to Viserba, Bellaria, which are districts in Rimini to understand how calm and peaceful to live here, because Rimini is not only the central historical part. I use a bycicle daily here as well, and I go on the streets like this the same 😂😂 but this is something normal, every second person has a bycicle here and since a local public transport doesn't work so well, the only way to reach the place on time is a bycicle. Visited Rimini last year ( mainly to visit San Marino) in January and it didn't feel at all unsafe.
I would presume that dangerous rating is based on the alcohol fuelled tourist season.
Rimini is a nice place easily discovered on foot.
One thing I dislike is the way the beach is all sectioned off by the different waterfront businesses ( not an issue out of season).
When I visited the little borgo it was reminiscent of little seaside towns here in England.
All the artwork added to it's charming character.
I found Turin much more unwelcoming than Rimini.....then you got Napoli😮😂.
