Unfortunately the band besides Pete are relatively unknown. Mike Percy, Tim Lever and Steve Coy don’t even have their own Wikipedia pages ☹️

I agree with you, however Pete appears to be onemanshowing due to all the hilarious mannerisms and dress ups. I can understand pretty well as to Pete's the only one mentioned most of the time

Pete Burns pretty much ran the show and it wasn’t a democratic band to him. He considered Dead Or Alive more of a brand than an actual true band. He has actually said he would been more apt to fire them soon after the first album if not for being on contract with a major record label.
What a wonderful aquatic video. And Pete coming out of that shell. He really was a pearl. R.I.P. Pete and Steve never forgotten. Thank you for sharing.

I agree, and the version in the album has a better intro. The writing is perfect, the production almost perfect and what was almost perfect in the 80s is stratospheric now. It's not a matter of nostalgia, it's having people with classical education taking up new tech vs. people born with new tech.

I'm from 2004 but damn I love 80s music so much I feel nostalgic even tho I didn't live at that time. It was an awesome era of great music
I visited the record shops a few times a week and my whole money was spent for 12 inches (still have them all). I remember one day I came home with around a dozen records. In the 80's, Pop Music classics have been produced on a weekly basis. And today? Nothing! What happened to the talent and the creativity?

Ironically, Pete Burns has said he actually hated his singing voice and wished he could have been able to sing in falsetto like his greatest musical influence, Sylvester. As far as singing in playback goes, first, this is a music video, that’s the nature of them in the first place, to promote the record. Second, television worldwide at the time was filled with music programmes like Top Of The Pops to promote singles. Third, Pete Burns found music promotion and concerts very boring and repetitious and considered himself basically more of a studio rat.

Surprisingly only reached #14 in the charts in 1985 - it got a lot of radio airplay at the time... Saying that, #14 would be considered a flop now in 2018, yet in 1985, it was considered a respectable placing...
Madonna,Wham, Micheal Jackson cyndi Lauper. Simple minds, Genesis,Peter Gabriel,Phil Collins,Prince ect yes reaching 14 is pretty respectable in that era
Competition for the Top Ten was fierce even in the 80s, #14 was regarded as a disappointment even then.
In 1985 it was vinyl records and cassettes, ie physical media. There was huge competition in the charts too with Madonna and George Michael dominating.

I think George started his whole punk thing in 1980 or '79 while Pete started around 1978 or '79
Youthquake is a gamechanger and an 80s classic dead or alive was so ahead of their time
The biggest game-changer the album was for was their producers Stock, Aitken, & Waterman. It showed that they had a sound that could give them hit singles.
This isn't my favourite DoA song but it's my favourite music video that came from DoA.
