The trick is that he is in Boston drivers have to make 32/hr minimum. That's the big difference he is not being shortchanged on most of his order offers.
the advice should be 1) Drive in Boston and 2) don't not drive in Boston.
PEOPLE PLEASE DECLINE, DECLINE, DECLINE. STOP PICKING THOSE LOW BALL RIDES. HELP US ALL PLEASE 🥺🙏🏽
💪💪💪💯
Yup makes sense 🎉
Too many desperate drivers. Won't work.
Dude this is just a ridiculous video. He made $33 an dollars an hour in a market that has a $32.50 minimum per hour mandated by the government 😂. You have to count the time that you're sitting there as well. There is no genius level stuff going on here.
Why don’t you mention bonuses on majority of the trips? It’s not matter of cherry picking, it’s the bonuses.
Bonuses don't matter all they do is adjust the ride..I can have 7$ surge going and they will show a 20$ with Bonuses..so now that ride is only 13$ but if I don't have any bonus going I'll get the 20$ for the ride so all they do is put another dollar in their pocket and take one out your trust me
They don't mean a thing..all they do is take a whatever the bonus is out of your ride so your not getting a damn..if I don't have anything going they will give a 20$ ride..let me have 7$ surge going all I get is 13$ for the same ride now..ya I get 20 with my 7$ surge but if you don't see all those are is a means for them to take more money off the ride your blind I'm sorry..
Yes, always take the higher paying rides - bonus or not. Even the non bonus rides vary $20-$30+/hr. Decline the lower offers, accept the higher ones.
I never drive bonus hours bc in my market too many drivers come out, you’ll often get one-two offer in an hour.
Learn your market inside and out and drive where and when the money is there.
Planning, Positioning, Patience is key.
$20.21 for a ride 15 minutes there and 6 minutes to drop off, they would've only offered me about $7-$8 for that same ride. Happens every day. Stuck with offers of $4-$5 rides and maybe every 1/8 ride offers are $7-$8 or $9 once in a while. Not really profitable especially since I drive a luxury vehicle. I do drive a newer BMW SUV but it doesn't qualify for lux or any of the higher end rides either because it's white and not black. 🤦🏽
It’s hard in those markets with such low fares. Can you get on some other apps to fill the time in between the better rideshare offers? Sorry it’s so tough there. I feel your frustration my friend.
My acceptance rate is 37 ... Decline, Decline, Decline. Spot-on advice.
Do you drive Uber or Lyft?
@@tarzanyogi Uber
Mines at 10% 😂
Active hr doesn't mean shit.
2nd Boston is the best market in the country so ur numbers to the rest of us are not realistic
3rd u did over 280 miles which is adv 5 miles a ride and at 15 adv per ride. At adv 5 miles u be paid $4 at everywhere else in the country u numbers don't mean shit to anyone outside boston
FACT'S 😂
The huge obstacle is getting more drivers to see this video - especially the newbies.
Like @sergioavedian says If he had 10 minutes with every driver he could fix this thing!!
Did you hear him ? He said he don't know about our market..
And he be right !!! Because here in Texas & in Utah and many others the money is far far from 57.00 hr..
Only in Mass you can pull that Jack
@@RobertRagland-bj6wzthe dollar figures are different but the underlying premise generally holds true. Don’t let them grind you down. Hold out for the best rides your market will give. I know a Texas has been super tough, let’s hope it improves. Wish you the best man!!
It doesn’t hurt that Boston is busy non stop around the clock, except in the summer when every driver comes down here to the cape.
Def plays into the strategy. I’d have way different rules if the market was slow. In fact, I do have different rules when our market is slow. I’ll sometimes do Instacart, Spark and DoorDash and non-gig related work when it’s slower on rideshare.
I have been doing Uber now for more than 7 years in Miami FL, In order to get anything better than an UberX ride you must have a larger vehicle like a Van UberXL. Anything else you'd need to drive a ⛽ Gas Guzzling Suburban and must be Black to obtain Uber LUX these rides are far and in-between since majority riders want the Cheapest ride. That's why I see those huge hunks of Metal idle sitting by waiting to find a rider willing to pay their LUX fare! If I were to refuse these cheaper rides like UberX and Share I would be constantly under threat of having my app disabled by Uber! Uber is paying $.50-.60 a mile. If KAMALA is elected gas ⛽ prices go back to $5.00 + like the Early BIDEN/HARRIS term more than half of those huge LUX SUBURBAN drivers would go Belly up!!
This guy is acting like Uber marketing. "our drivers make $30/hr minimum" and we see they meant active hours. Bro, your time is money. Even if you're online you're not making money. Some markets don't get as busy as that either.
Also, I will sit waiting for good rides and I've learned that my market the best rides / hr average $29-32. I've gotten long rides that show up for $75/hr, but I'm not taking those. Just like you said, those won't help with the bonus.
Realistically, you're making $17/hr.
Your getting bonuses on every ride..in Portland we get 0..plus we arent told our hourly average per ride either..YOUR CITY IS CLEARLY A WAY BETTER MARKET AND APP AS WELL! PORTLAND SUCKS!
Yeah what’s odd is, I’m never in a bonus zone. Idk why those bonuses appear, or where they come from. Lyft is my second app, so I’m still kind of learning it. Drive mostly uber except when Lyft offers decent ride challenge bonus that makes it worth it.
Even if you don't get the exact hourly rate per ride on the offer card, you can add pick up time and ride time then divide by 2. If the fare is less than that number your being offered less than $30/hr. That's my decision factor. Only takes a couple seconds to calculate, if that, once you get the hang of it, then you can make a decision on the locations. Divide by 3 and now your looking at $20/hr. No reason for fares to be that low and even less reason to accept that trash.
Uber & Lyft are trash here in Miami,yo can’t make 10 per hours 😡😡😡
If you make that in Orlando in same time i will Pay you the same money double
I found you on X, do you have a UA-cam channel?
Impossible in Houston..fares are wayyy too low.
Wow, what a RIP OFF! I will NEVER take an UBER or LYFT again. I will walk home. $30 to go 5 miles? ARE YOU ON CRACK????
Great exercise and save money! Win win
I drive Uber in northern NJ and will drive wherever the app takes me! However, we don't see fares upfront in this market!
Yeah that’s not right. There is no excuse for the apps to do that anywhere. We’re fighting to change that!
Central nj and shore driver here - have you ever been able to get anywhere near these numbers in north nj? I'm lucky if I can get above 25/hr generally.
@Chris63084 Never.. I am a part-time driver for 9yrs now! Business has really been bad since the end of the PLANdemic...👀
@@Chris63084yes it is bad down here at the Jersey Shore… did 19 Uber X trips this past Sunday 7.5 hours receive approximately $170.00 here in Toms River.. only two people tipped out of the 19!.. lately i been preferring to do food delivery like door dash and grub hun where 80/90 percent of people tip… received over a $20 tip on my last Grub hub order… rideshare here in New Jersey is not good or at least in my area of ocean and Monmouth counties!
I just started driving a few months ago in NY and I can't see the trip details prior to accepting the ride, distance, time, drop-off or fare? At least Uber Eats I can see the trip details before accepting. I drove the last 2 weekends and lost money based on accepting rides (not knowing the destination) that were far away and would never have accepted if I know the details. Any advice?
Imagine being out on the field for 50 hours for $800 meanwhile I’m out there for 35 total hours to make 1200 but knock yourself out. You got plenty of time. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
24 for $1135 but sounds like you’re doing pretty well, too! 👊
What if you add in all that time waiting for the right price doesn’t that lower the per hour take
Yes, my online hourly was $33.15. But I do other work while waiting to make the most of the time. I have the art of the decline down very well😂😂😂
@@bostonmattWhat other work do you do while waiting?
@@FL52 my main gig involves a lot of writing and research
@@bostonmatt Are you doing that sitting in the car, or do you sit at home, or in a coffee shop?
@@FL52mostly at home but if I’m driving I’ll wait in a parking lot and get work done too. Unless I’m on a ride challenge then I’m hustling a little more, more volume focused then.
I used to drive after I finished my other work, as time allowed. Then I began shifting my schedule to be more flexible. I’d get the stuff I had to do on deadline done ahead of time, when possible. Then do my research and writing while watching the app. Jumping on surges and driving when it gets busiest. It’s worked out very well, but kind of a unique situation.
I’ve been doing this almost 7 years bro you’re making $17 an hour. Your booked time in a regular work world should be equivalent to the online time. Meaning online you’ve literally been at 12 hours and only booked possibly 8 hours coming home with $120-$150 this isn’t even including the gas
Stay where you are at, 16hr in CA
To gross 100k a year in Riverside County CA you will have to drive roughly 115,000 miles. 60 cents on long rides $1 on short rides if your lucky. 0 bonuses on Uber, very rare surge. Illegals are pouring in to the gig business making rides fewer. Some rides are getting sketchy, jail birds are abusing Lyft and Uber for FREE rides through Medicaid/ Medical. They simply set up a ride to a Pharmacy, Dental or Medical office out of their area near a bar. Once in a blue moon you might get a couple of bucks in cash.
Yea okay. I would drive 12 hours a day 7 days a week and barely make $100/day after gas. Rideshare gigs are a ripoff. PS..you can't wait for "the good rides" or you would get penalized for declining rides.
I work the Coachella Valley in California. Today is Sunday, September 8th. In almost 4 hours I received a total of 3 rides. What do you do if the rides don't come in?
Okay this video makes zero sense you do not make what you're saying I make 12 to $1,500 a week that only showed you made $795 get out of here with that garbage
Unless you live in Boston, and don't mind wasting the hours you could be making money, then go right ahead, you'll notice 3 out of the 7 days of the week, he's not taking any rides, therefore that's 3 out of 7 days of the week wasted
I’m confused if you made $1100, and you had the app on at Uber the whole time you were driving which was about 50 hours isn’t that $22 an hour while you’re out? Is an active hour when you have a passenger in the car? So you’re saying you make $57 while you’re driving but you don’t count your idle time when you’re waiting for a ride?
The reason you make that us because your state passed a minimum law which forces uber to take Mt money and pay you because you don't know what you're doing. This stream is the worst place to learn about uber, but take advantage of your minimum wage while you still have uber...
I drive in Boston too, i try and decline the low ball rides, but I’m afraid that if my acceptance rate falls to low it will affect the “trip duration” reward, won’t it? I like knowing how long my trip is going to be and where I’m going.
Got my Uber acceptance rate down to 1%. Only way to make money
how??..here in miami if you drop below 25% they punish you stopping sending you requests ..only radar orders will hit your screen ,and one every hour or max two..i stopped doing uber as main app ,now im with lyft and indrive ..by the way lyft is another BS.
Excellent video!
🙏👊
On the bottom of the screen where it says, "estimate $/hr rate for this ride" is that only for lyft? I've never seen that, I only do Uber atm. Or is there another app out there like the Para app?
He's making all that money because Boston is the number one or two place in the country to make tons of money. Down here in Miami we get $7 rides 12 mi long and 25 minutes my acceptance rate is 4% so 96 percent total garbage crams into the airport impossible less than an hour for a good ride decline declined declined declined declined declined forever
In California we are oversaturated with drivers in fact there are no ping for multiple hours.
So I guess it depends on your market.
Won't Uber ban me from driving people around if I decline too many people? I've been an Uber driver for 4 and 1/2 years
❤❤❤Brother, you dropped GEMs in this video ! I have driven in San Diego, California, for over 8 years. The new trend is PRIVATE RIDES! Lyft and Uber are raping passengers and robbing drivers! The NEW trend in my market is to ban together with YOUR AWESOME LOCAL TEAMS! Split the cost of the LLC, TNC, and commercial insurance ! Local teams with walkie talkies earn $100.00 plus PER hour (not every hour), but that is the rate for my little C350e Mercedes Benz Hybrid in San Diego, California! Lyft and Uber are charging passengers this amount and are trying to give the drivers about $30 -$40 dollars for the same ride that takes an hour plus to complete!
Love it!!
I just leave the app on all day and have a acceptance rate of normally 10%. Most trips are ridiculous and you’re going to lose money and time unless you only take ones that are a fair offer. Sometimes you even get a good offer but if it’s fair I will take it.
💯💯💯
At 0:59 I see just above you accept button there is a 💰Est. 22.16/hr rate for this ride. Do you know why my app doesn’t show this or how to enable it?
They are testing this in certain markets. In California I believe they are showing per mile rate.
Hopefully they’ll offer all drivers the choice with a toggle switch to choose what they see.
@@bostonmatt I’m in San Diego and it does not show anything but total ride amount time and mile. Witch I guess I can do the math lol
LOL. How low is your acceptance rate? Pretty sure the lower it is the less good rides you get.. no?
Does Uber pay you $33 automatically go to work like don't you get a set amount you need to make an hour
Good going. Seattle is so oversaturated Im getting 1 or 2 rides an hour. ridiculous
Oh Boston I don't think you guys even have trip radar you guys are the best market
The cheat code 😂😂😂
In BOSTON. Come to a market with more rutal areas and show me how you make that much
Great video!
This will NEVER happen in Florida driving for Uber.😂
Uber has given Florida the worst pay rate in the United States.
Forbes ran an article on the Florida Uber pay rate.
And they raise the per mile rate for customers in Central Florida too. We don't make any more.
How do you see the hourly rate? I only see the "per mile
" amount
Only in that State !! Good for you!!
Uber eats I did 40 hours made $500
What car are you driving?
I notice you crossed out your 49 hours
Every market is different!
Great video!!! Thank you for sharing
So I'm killing it then, 49 rides $942.08 and I have another $50 booked in scheduled rides before 9am tomorrow and that's only 2 rides. Nice, I don't know any other drivers so I have no measure of good or bad. This was a good vid for my edification. Thanks!
Are you in a state where you have a minimum wage that's actually good and you're actually are killing it I haven't had that many schedule rise but they did start acting and they just start showing up since school's back and I'm here in Maryland and no we don't have it but I really try not to take any ride under $10 if it's not too far I will do like 8 minutes 1.1 me but we don't have any bonus here we have nothing and we got all these new drivers all these drivers for $4 or whatever and makes it very difficult but I'm going to switch to a different type of carrier service
You Don't
What type of ride do you drive? X COMFORT XL?
X and Lyft basic. I do comfort but very few and they pay about the same. Every screenshot in the video was a Lyft basic ride though.
Lyft Don't show us in DMV area est rate / hour like they do to you in your market and uber also don't show us active hours only online hours @Therideshareguy
I don’t accept low bull
