Waiting time to cancel if passengers don’t show up comfort & XL After 2 minutes of arrival the count down starts go anther 8 more minutes , that’s Too long to wait In busy area like Downtown or no parking zone or one way street, please ask passengers to request an Uber when they are Ready to GO.
UberX should be uncoupled from UberShare for XL drivers.
When people call for ride they don’t tell Uber that they’re moving out of their apartment and they want you to carry their mattress,table and chairs. They think because your car is xL that you have to pick them instead of them renting bus to move. I cancel these trips however I loss a point.
I had a situation on Friday night where I was in a bad neighborhood and the power had gone out on several blocks. I'm talking major intersections with no traffic lights and people who do not - even with the lights on - know how to drive. Girl with a 5.0 and a fake name she thinks is cute (not verified, new account) gets in with her two male friends and the ride was booked as a Shared. I had to educate them about that not being how Shared works because I don't have a problem doing so and it looked dicey for a minute as they were ready to get into it and I wasn't trying to deal with all that. Safe to say, I should have said no and cancelled the minute the power outage area presented itself, but I took the bullet on the assumption no one else would book with them, drove them the ten minutes for my $8 upfront, one starred it and kept it moving. But best believe I'll never do that again.
I hate when I go to pick up somebody and one person gets in the car and we're ready to go and they said we're waiting for someone and I'm like they need to be in the car everyone needs to be ready to get in the car before someone jumps in and also no hoodies allowed in the when they get in the car we need to be able to see their face
You are an independent contractor. If you care about acceptance rate and cancellation rate, then you'll forever be a fool. I don't care either way. I'll cancel it for any reason I feel like cancelling and I accept it for any reason I feel like accepting it.
Nothing can take away our right to cancel a trip, we are independent contractor. Completely agreed with you.
Until you live in a market where they have advantage mode and make no money all week because your stuck in standard mode with a cancel rate of 9%
@@ChangeForTheBetter572 I currently have a 17% cancellation rate and a 25% acceptance rate. Protest isn't always a bullhorn and a sign.
99% of cancellation rate going up is because of poor pay and the reason drivers except the ride just to cancel it because the window in between accepting a ride or missing the ride is about 3 to 4 seconds so sometimes drivers can’t calculate if the trip was worth acceptingand once they realize the trip is not worth it, they cancel. All of this can be fixed, but acceptance rates can go up. The cancellation rates can go down only if these money, hungry pigs paid us more.
On the day of Nottinghill carnival,all the roads surrounding were closed by police where riders were booking 2miles inside from the road closer,where we cant access so need to cancel but cancellation rate go up from 0 to 5 percent. Rders refused to cancel even though you explained the situation . Same problem happen around Hyde park regularly, they close the lane when busy.
I started with them back in 2013 and I have never cared about their threatening messages. My acceptance rate always around 10 and 22 / 💯, they used to request me from the office and called me threatening that they would’ve taken an action against me if I don’t accept trips or if I accept a trip an not moving towards them. I wish all the drivers accept only the trips that are more profitable for them and not care much about their rates of acceptance.

ive cancelled for "not safe for pickup" and "innapropriate rider behavior", however, the rider is then immediately matched with another driver. Ive seen it happen twice.
Which just proves Uber and Lyft do not give a rats ass about the drivers (or the passengets)...

I hate being sent to the worst parts of town, for the worst pay around! Now, flat rate pay says you can't decline more than 2 an hour. I only declined 1 and got kicked back to pay per order. No explanation or anything, support is of no help. Always saying , I'm so sorry you are experiencing this .. . Blah, blah, blah!!. Right!

Yes ignorant, perhaps. Don’t know where you’re from? If drivers in your city don’t get robbed or jacked it’s probably cause they don’t go there because they are not familiar with the terrain. There are drivers who are and no how far they can go. I know if you go down Cleavland Ave ATL you’re coming out in your shorts. Just google how many Lyft and Uber drivers get jacked in rough places across America. You will be amazed. No disrespect.

The moment someone calls or texts me on my whereabouts when I'm on my way to them, I cancel. That person is going to be a problem and we're not paid enough to deal with problems. Let their punk asses walk!!

I cancel, because the area is unsafe, the rider doesn't show up, there is nowhere to park and wait, the rider is smoking, they have a pet, that is not in a crate.

Well, they need to do the same with the food delivery as well with people not putting the right apartment number. No apartment number Uber be sending people fraud notices for calling them to cancel the orders when you can’t find the customer

He is right, I did cancel few rides with sketchy people in some sketchy part of town, it does not increase your cancellation rate.
@3:30 I'll take Greg's trip for $7.61 for total of 7 mins going to and picking up and dropping off, and only put 1 mile total on my car from acceptance to drop off. Now give me 7 more rides just like that back to back in one hour... for the next 6 hours. If he has any friends, it's $5.00 extra per car seatbelt per person. I'm not a bus.
I can't stand that!! I show up to the pickup location and there's 3-4 people getting in my car. It's one thing if I'm expecting that but Uber nor the rider never gives a heads up that it's going to be that many people. I don't like having my car loaded down with that many strangers at once. Plus it's extra strain on the engine, transmission and suspension
I've received the email even when customer gave abandoned building address and wouldn't answer contact methods.
We should be able to see our trip from start to finish. Not have access to the drop off location while on way to customer so to have better direction.

In Atlanta, GA. The cost per mile has seemed to completely disappear, and they seem to want to pay drivers an amount equal to $15.00 per hour, no miles, gas or depreciation is included. Rides that should be at least $30.00 are now $20
00-$23.00( the miles are 40-45 miles).The Atlanta, GA airport usually has 100-150 drivers. Today, after the change, 35-40. Drivers are going to drive long distance for crumbs.
Why if I go to Walmart to pick up an oder and when I arrive they tell me the oder has been canceled because it went out the day before Uber is counting that cancelation against me and sending me pretending e.mail.
We shouldn't have to wait for passengers at all. If they aren't outside within the 2 mins we need to leave. We are already losing the drive time to them plus the additional minutes are so much lost income. We shouldn't have to wait at all to cancel if there's no car seat or an unaccompanied minor because these people get mad and don't want to pay a cancellation which puts us at risk for retaliation.
1-Abuse by Drivers will make this a short-lived improvement...
2-A "pattern" of refusing pickup in certain neighborhoods could open specific Drivers AND UBER to lawsuits and litigation for discrimination.
Cars drag racing, groups of men, 3 Men approaching your car after dark when you're expecting to pick up Susie... All are examples of an unsafe pickup.
Refusing all pickups in East LA or Compton is discriminatory. IMHO
Oh well… I’ve been driving off and on for over 25 years… I was a Taxi Driver in Baltimore where my good friend Omar Bah (Rip) was shot in the head randomly due to a gang initiation… I have driven Uber/ Lyft in Atlanta, Philadelphia and NJ, in some of the roughest corners of those places… When I tell you (driver safety) is waaaaay more important than Ubers 3.94 compensation… PLEASE BELIEVE ME… 🚫💉🔫💊
Uber Pro is a ploy that is suppose to force drivers into submission. I don't care what Pro tier I'm in, and who they are to tell me if I'm pro or not. Talking about guy with 17 years of experience in passenger transport, more than themselves😂😂😂
Right on. I was a platinum driver once upon a time. That vanished little by little. Same with the pay, it was tandem. Uber doesn’t care about you or me. Now I’m a 4.99 rated driver, 11500 rides 7000 ,5 stars uber blue and other badges for what. So I can make peanuts every day. What you need to see is that no matter how much we bitch and moan we won’t get anything out of Uber with out help from state legislators. Uber has a plan and there’s no stopping them. As long as we drive for them we are helping them with their plan. We are practically slave drivers. Look at your pay at the end of the week. If it’s good you drove 70 or 80 hours.
If we are not feeling safe due to area not looking safe it's dark so you cancel it should be allowed. You let customers record us due to them not feeling safe, what's the difference we don't have a say we just get a message they may record. Rates really need to be up you already take 30% of our pay😮

What about the option to not choose shared rides ? On uber x shared rides is not an option. I don’t feel safe with shared rides

I love this feature I used it a few nights ago I pulled up to an address to pick up a customer and there was a domestic violence at the address I just hit the not safe button and kept on going and it did not affect my acceptance rate

I believe it I’ve used it. It works. I used it two times this weekend. It didn’t affect my cancellation rate at all.
90% of my cancelations and ride rejections occur when I'm on destination filter and get assigned a ride in the oppissite direction. It does get recorded as a negative.
I raised it to help and tbey said that destination filter is to "try" to "find" a ride towards destination but if there is rider demand they will ignore it.
With shared rides it's always ignored (my observation not from help).
Yes. Most my non acceptance is when destination mode shows me rides going away from my destination. When using Uber destination mode I turn off uberX because it destroys my acceptance rate when so many rides take me away from my destination.

You can cancel for rider behavior and not have cancelation rate harmed. You can cancel for other reasons such as no baby car seat if you wait 7 minutes before canceling and not afffect cancelation rate. It is ridiculous that Uber makes us wait 7 minutes for regular rides and 9 minutes for comfort rides to cancel. Of course ever since Uber added two more minutes to the wait time, they did not increase the pay for that extra wait time. I guess our time is worthless based on how Uber keeps expecting us to do more and spend more time without any additional pay for the added time.

I wouldn't mind if they started wait time pay after the first minute, and made the pay $0.50 a minute minimum.

Philadelphia. Once I accept a ride or I get a designated customer, I don’t get an option to decline. It’s an automatic penalty with a reminder or threat. I don’t even have an option to complain about a customer. Customers get a five star and can’t make a remark.

I've been Diamond in Los Angeles ever since the program came out . I don't try for it but I always put enough time in to qualify .I had never used any of the features . Maybe because I do eats only. Big deal on this .More money is all that matters
So I will say in the Columbus, Ohio market I have two used to be friends that figured this out a couple weeks ago and it was working for their phones, but when I would go do it, it would count against me But when they would do it, it wouldn’t count against them so I don’t know. I ended up losing their friendship because they said this was their secret hack that they found out and I had told somebody about it so yeah glad to see it wasn’t a hack and it was actually something Uber was doing, but I don’t know if it works for everybody.

And they give you 10 whole seconds to analyze the trip while you’re driving down the street🤦🏼♀️ this is the exact same thing that Lyft has. That looks almost 100% exactly like the Lyft app now.
Has anyone seen a video where he talks about how how earnings are calculated on Uber's platform so this is to pick up is 1.8 MI, and the trip is 13 minutes and 10 MI and the price is 1995 almost $20 not paying that. Lol
Honestly I've been able to cancel for some of these reasons without it affecting my cancellation rate for well over a month now, but I do have to review my fare every time to get the cancellation fee.
Need pay back!!! 3 months ago they cut our wages significantly!!! Then you go 19 min out for a 5$ ride then 17 min drive for 4.65.. this is insane.. they took our promotions for extra money.. and wages.. we put our safety at risk every ride.. every day.. can we please get our pay back!!!

Yesterday a I picked up a Lady's name but was I guy near the beach, he rude mi car wet and full is sand I couldn't cancel because is the rating damage thing of Uber and because the guy rude quickly. As soon as I dropped off I have to stop driving because of a wet seat

I got dinged for canceling when the customer told me in a message that I was picking up her minor child from school... Because I wasn't there, minor was not an option to select, so it just counts against me..

Also say you're doing a delivery and you've been waiting Before use it called customer service and they would cancel it for you and it didn't affect your cancelation rate last night. I was sitting in a drive through for 10 minutes. That had not moved at all, so I had them cancel the orders and what happened. My cancelation rate went up. And it also stated that I canceled the order after I called customer service.

You only get 1 per day. Sketchy person first time, stumbling drunk next, not safe either time yet my rate went up.

Why is UBER insulting drivers by offering $2-3 trips? The least a driver should be paid is $10 net with automatic 20% tip on a 5 star rating.

When is uber given a reprieve to decommissioned drivers over 4-5 years? I was deactiv 6:22 ated in April 2020 and have petitioned several times for reconsideration, but have been denied each time. Mr Sergio, please speak with Uber management to take a second look at their arbitrary suspension of drivers based on report by riders. Uber will not provide details of the alleged crime or slippage but will be demanding drivers to provide details. That's unfair and put drivers in awkward positions to counter reports by Riders

This is not a change. Cancelling for safety has never affected my rates. I've always been able to cancel for safety at any time. They're just telling us something to make us feel like they're making the app better when there isn't anything new happening at all. It's all smoke any mirrors.

I'd like the no car seat option to not count against cancelation rate too. Basically Uber is encouraging breaking the law by punishing our rates for not taking someone with no car seat. We should get paid something for this too.

Well I don't want to leave or jump to conclusions but I had ask the customer support have the screen shoots of me stating getting legal action of these issues that my account was constantly and was getting deactivated so I ask that so you're saying that I have to expect even so I not feel save , never got a response so these makes me happy so what leads to another safety concern passengers should have the ability to select driver as default driver if he's available to have safe knowing you're passengers that would at some stability knowing they if I go online I have these rights

Anything that they try to implement means absolutely nothing to the driver they will renege on it one way shape or form they do not live up to anything driver pay is the only thing that means anything.

It’s irrelevant they still penalize you for refusing rides that cost you more money than what you would make. And in some cases, they take the bonus away of you as well

Uber does not pay enough for me to even drive anymore for them. We are working with foreigners who care nothing about Americans that’s why the pay is getting so low they think we are over in their country.

I don't believe this for two seconds. The vast majority of areas that have high crime are minority neighborhoods. I'm sorry if that's offensive, but it's true. Uber's policy up to now has been that Uber drivers cannot discriminate against picking up in those areas. In fact, Uber has sent threatening emails to drivers who have cancelled or refused to service those areas, claiming that it's discrimination. Now, suddenly, they completely reverse that policy?
you are an independent contractor, you can pick and choose what trips to do.
as long as you don't discriminate based on sex religion, race ect, you should be ok.

I don't get it. Why is this a thing? Common sense clearly dictates that if there's a safety issue it shouldn't be a penalization for us to walk away from it especially when the terms of service clearly state that we have the right to not accept or cancel any ride for any reason except for discrimination and it's also goes on clearly to state safety concerns. So why are these guys acting like there are new saviors on this? And actually I'm a little surprised that this is such a positive thing for the video considering should have been a no-brainer all along. I had a safety concern recently and was surprised to realize that it's still went on my cancellation rate. I don't believe Uber is going to do something that doesn't penalize us but let's see. Either way they can piss off the pro status really doesn't matter anyway. They always say that the acceptance rate rating is not as big as the deal as it is but let's face it that rules everything. Uber can stay mad with me.
