Same with us. We are in our mid 60's with no claims or tickets in over 40 years. But I'm not at all surprised that rates are always increasing. Not that I'm condoning it, but just like everything else, all things get more expensive. Insurance companies are like any other business. Not only do they have to pay out claims, they also have employees to pay (to include rate increases, health benefits, etc.), office buildings to maintain, technology updates, miscellaneous overhead, etc. Have you noticed the hourly labor cost of an automotive repair shop lately? And all these costs are offset to the consumer. Just like everything else!
Went to my local CarMax here in Houston and asked for prices on Lexus NX350. Prices were almost similar to a brand new one. I just turned around and went next door and bought me a new instead. Peace in mind is priceless.
Peace of mind is 7 day return policy and 5 year 150k bumper to bumper warranty Carmax has. The new one is yours. Don't think you made the right color choice etc....try exchanging the new one. With no questions asked. Carmax gives Peace of Mind. Yeah, sometimes it's not just the numbers....it's the sales experience, warranty, and convenience. You can't beat the return policy.

I get tired of going to a dealership and having them do the 4 square garbage. I always get my own loan from a credit union ready to go and I know what the price of the car should be. Just sell me the car at the price I get when I build it online. They make it too hard to try and rook you into something.
@@maxpower2511 Agreed. The last deal I did they put the 3 payment range with 3 different moneys down. Went to one Carmax and it was a super easy experience but didn't have the car I wanted. Went to a different Carmax in a very rich area and it was like the FBI was shining the light on my face in a dark room. Before a test drive I had to prove I had full coverage insurance which I did with my Insurance card and then they wanted me to log into my insurance to show/prove what coverage I had. It was insane. People go to carmax because it's easier to get approved for a car loan than the regular brand name dealers. Paying more is not a problem, because their banks love to get you into a bigger loan.
I’ve bought several vehicles from CarMax over the years, But you can do your shopping online, you can look at prices on different lots and have it shipped by them. The last two I bought were extremely mint low mileage vehicles, and both I had shipped. In the stealerships near me, similar models had twice the mileage at the same price. Think of them as another dealer, but the price is what’s on the site.
Yeah, I bought a Custom King Ranch Expedition XL in 2012 while I was still in Iraq from military exchange car sales. I paid around $55k after Tax and Title. They will bury me in that truck. Amazed the 3V Triton in it has passed 150k with no issues.
Consumers Need To Hold The Line For At Least Another 6 Months Or Longer. Don't Be Lured By A Small Discount On An Overpriced Low Quality Manufactured Vehicles. $35,000 Max On Any Vehicle. Hold Out They Wll Discount Them Even More.😊😊😊😊
Still, If i was in the market, I’d go to Carmax before 99% of used car dealers. I don’t think you understand people want to pay the same price as the next guy and are willing to pay more to ensure they are. If you go into ANY used car dealer outside of carmax 10 people looking at the same car will get 10 different prices, and the guy that knows the dealers cousin Joey will get the best price. No thanks.
The 2022 F150 Lightning Pro had a starting price of $41k. If the previous owner paid anywhere close to $65k, that was due to dealer markups. Whats scary is Carmax charging as $40k for a 2022 model when the 2024 Model is only $40k. Make it make sense.
Yep. I run dealerships and own a used car lot. The process is ridiculous on both sides. Customers expect to play a game and you have to sing and dance or you cant earn their business. The franchise model needs to go away and the big car companies need to go to Tesla Route.
Assuming that the F-150 Lightning Pro was a commercial sale then that $30,000.00 dollar "loss" will be applied toward the company's profit. In this case it's not so much a "wealth destroyer" as a indictment of Ford's entry into the electric pick-up market. Even with only 6K miles the owner was not prepared to throw good money at bad by keeping it.
What I don't understand is acting quickly is better then waiting yet every dealer seems to be trying to wait this out. If they were smart they'd be slashing their prices to offload as fast as possible months ago. The longer this inventory sits the more it costs you so even if you need to take a sale loss it'll be less then the cost on lot.
Add to inflation, pinching people’s pockets, these dealerships are cutting their trade-in offers before they cut the sticker prices on their new cars. Just making things even more unaffordable.
QUESTION: Would someone please educate me as to why CarMax has been a success through the years? In my view, their cars are overpriced, and they have the slogan NO HAGGLE PRICE. Well, isn't that just convenient for them.. also, I don't think they really give fair price on trade-ins. I simply don't get it
WARRANTY TO 150K bumper to bumper available. The 7 day return policy. No hassle shopping if you let them know you want to browse. No pressure sales experience. They offer their own financing so people who have bad credit can get a loan. They get a 150k odometer miles warranty if they want to buy it....their warranty prices vary by EACH car. HOWEVER, the people who finance at the highest rate...24% will pay TWICE what it cost at purchase. I believe. Desperate people do desperate things. Ironically people do the same thing when buying a house...you pay twice what you bought it for over 30 years. The house usually appreciates. Cars don't. You have to decide when buying new or used cars if the money you lose is WORTH IT TO YOU. To me, it IS if I get a low interest rate....I can go to my credit union. I know any car loses value. A new car, an overpriced Carmax used car, an overpriced stealership used car....or one new or used you get at dealer cost. That's why people buy at Carmax. What you DON'T see UA-camrs post is their better than stealership deals...they DO happen. It's better priced, warrantied, no hassle. No push to buy stuff by the finance department. You don't have a pushy salesperson who plays games.
My experience was years ago and I paid with a loan from my car insurance company, not through Carmax. Got a 6 year old Lexus ES300 with 45K miles for $16K. Sold it a couple of years ago with nearly 300K miles and never had a problem with it.

What do you think about the resignation of Carlos Tavares from Stellantis? He was the VP at Nissan when Carlos Ghosn, now a fugitive from Japanese authorities, was leading the company. Hello, How are you? I need help filing a lawsuit against CarMax. Here is what happened: In 2022, I purchased a Nissan from CarMax. Unfortunately, the car had water damage underneath and was rusting inside. Since then, I have experienced nothing but problems with this vehicle. Recently, while driving, the panel broke off the car, and the wheel caved in severely, causing it to break. This incident almost cost me my life. Upon further inspection, I discovered the car had flood damage from a prior owner, which was never disclosed to me at the time of purchase. CarMax should be ashamed of selling vehicles that are dangerous, not roadworthy, and 15 years old for $20,000. Blue book value $1,400
I'm a Jeep kind of guy at heart. I have been for decades. I've owned and driven the wheels off of several Jeeps in my time and wanted a Gladiator to replace my old, but still faithful, Colorado when it became clear to me that it was going to cost The Lovely Bride and I way more than the truck was actually worth to fix everything that needed fixing on my "beater truck". It was a 2024 Gladiator that finally broke me of sucking eggs and drove us to purchase a very lightly used 2023 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4X4 pickup instead. It all came down to build quality and long-term reliability and we just could not see ANY trim level of the Gladiator, or God help us all, any of the Nissan Frontiers we looked at and test drove lasting as long as we would want them too. Sadly, nothing from GM or Ford, in the midsize pickup field looked to last very long so they fell by the wayside pretty quick too. And by the way, CARMAX never came up in our search for a replacement for the Colorado thanks to our online research AND your very informative videos.
I had a guy tell me he picks up vehicles from local dealers for CarMax and they therefore are doing great...I told him acquiring vehicles does not mean they can sell them because they are not selling enough each day/week or month to meet their financial obligations just like most all dealers. If you saw the action in the US Treasuries today you would know TOTAL ECONOMIC COLLAPSE can happen literally at any second right now! This "house of cards" economy is finished
@653j521 not at all. But people would be in panic mode now if they understood what the Treasury yield curve was doing by uninverting or the TRILLIONS of dollars worth of derivatives meant.
Wow....those were both great cars! The 88 to 91 Camry was my favorite Camry. The 97 to 01 Camry was awesome. I have a 2007 Camry 4 cylinder with 335k. Seems the struts are better on the 07 than 97. The 97 generation was floaty with age. The newest generation Camrys are just ugly big cars. My 2007 Camry is kind of huge too. The 91 Camry was perfectly sized but remember that huge plastic steering wheel in those?
The market will self correct. Many many people will simply avoid buying new vehicles. Anything newer than about 2020 is plastic pile of poo for the most part. Might be time to go old school.
Ive got a 2018 5.7 hemi 4 door long bed 2500 silver tradesman (6 months left on extended unlimited millage warranty and 2 paid for oil changes left) here in concord for sale. I need to get some pics of it up these prices are insane I just want to sell mine for 24-25 K that sounds like a freaking deal after looking at this!
Some of the insight you share about demographics and how it effects certain car models being repossessed, and re-introduced to the market, is interesting. The Used truck market has been ruined for budget buyers. I'm looking to retire, in the next ten years, with low income, I Need to buy the last truck of my life and get it paid off before I retire. People that paid $80k for a 3/4 ton truck cant afford to trade their trucks in, and use their trucks for 6 years, putting 200 and 300k miles on them. These trucks are wore out, they are not worth 20k. I'd be more of a fool to buy one then the original fool that paid 80k. I don't blame the manufacturers for capitalizing on fools. But I may pay someone 10k in labor to completely rebuild, upholster and paint a truck from the 80's.
BRANDON: Can you please..... When a car is sold new and it drives off the lot, what % in general has it gone down in value? I get different states may affect this, sedan to SUV may affect this, but in general or on average or commonly.... when a new vehicle is sold, what % of value has it lost just driving it off the lot? 2nd, in years 2 and 3, what % of devaluation is occurring as long as the vehicle is no accidents, scheduled maintenance is being done, basically the vehicle is perfect except for normal driving wear, and is up to date with all servicings...... What is common depreciation after 1 day, after 1 year, after 2 years and after 3 years.... so the vehicle is still under warranty. In general. THANK YOU.
Wait untill the last week of the year and you will see they gonna drop the prices on some of them, and they already are by $500 or $1000 on the website.
I never understood why Americans buy big, expensive, high-tech, high-maintenance cars and then complain about the economy. There are plenty of smaller vehicles ubder $30,000 that are reliable.
Just looked at several dealers here in Phoenix area. 2024 RAM 1500's don't exist anymore. I'm surprised because they hadnt really offered much in the way of incentives....where did they all go? No way RAM owners are buying the new 6 cylinder Fiat motor....sane people any way.
re: the F-150 Lightning PRO... it has only 6000 miles on the clock because it spent _so much_ time at the charging station and the previous owner got fed-up with the hassle of dealing with all the shortcomings of electric vehicles. Yes, he/she was that _desperate_ to get out of that deal.
People with bad or no credit go to carmax. It's clear these people now are broke and can't afford the payments. It's why these carmax lots are full. Question is when will carmax file for bankruptcy?
Stalantis says basically thumb their nose to the customer, and now it's starting to show. They want to revive the brands, they need to slash to prices of what's on the lots and start making what people want again. Ford is not too far behind, they lost a billion dollars on their electric car wet dream.
Hmmmmm, that white Macan S? New they start at $74k, so a '19 probably $68k. Meaning $30k off a 5-year old car with 53K miles, and Porsche is pretty high on the reliability list (number 4 says Consumer Reports). Maybe this is the odd one out and a good buy! Shame it's white.
This guy is acting heavy with the EV depreciation. Oscar for you sir. You should *never* buy an EV unless you plan to keep it forever. Lease it. If you like leasing, then just enjoy your negative equity. Minimal research will show you that EV market is way too volatile to commit to a purchase.

Literally or you are just trying to panic people, troll?
@653j521 not at all. But people would be in panic mode now if they understood what the Treasury yield curve was doing by uninverting or the TRILLIONS of dollars worth of derivatives meant.
I keep my 86 carrolla and 97 camry
Wow....those were both great cars! The 88 to 91 Camry was my favorite Camry. The 97 to 01 Camry was awesome. I have a 2007 Camry 4 cylinder with 335k. Seems the struts are better on the 07 than 97. The 97 generation was floaty with age. The newest generation Camrys are just ugly big cars. My 2007 Camry is kind of huge too. The 91 Camry was perfectly sized but remember that huge plastic steering wheel in those?
Scotty !! Is that you?
I won't lie, I want to get a type R from 2020+, but the amount of inflation is just crazy to me, especially the APR rate that is goinf
How long can Carmax and Carvana sell used cars for new prices?
The market will self correct. Many many people will simply avoid buying new vehicles. Anything newer than about 2020 is plastic pile of poo for the most part. Might be time to go old school.
I bought a 50th anniversary camaro drove it for 4 years and sold it to carvana for the same as i paid for it. Idk how they make money
Ive got a 2018 5.7 hemi 4 door long bed 2500 silver tradesman (6 months left on extended unlimited millage warranty and 2 paid for oil changes left) here in concord for sale. I need to get some pics of it up these prices are insane I just want to sell mine for 24-25 K that sounds like a freaking deal after looking at this!
prices are going up not down. dealers not feeling the pain yet. wait till the end of the year when floor plans come due.
I’ve been shocked by household current, and this car thing seems mild in comparison:).
Enjoy your channel, though.
40k for a Gladiator S?? 😂😂. Still over priced by 10k. Jeep is going to learn the hard way.
Booyah 👊🏽 😁 👍🏽 🇺🇸
Let's the good times roll
Meanwhile Carvana is trading at a 29,000 price to earnings ratio. Might give them some attention.
In general. THANK YOU.
Surely the cars are too different for an overall average to have any meaning. Some retain their value well and others get dumped quickly.
Don't buy any vehicle with a turbo the vehicle only has about 50% life to it . Any make .
I still have my Ram 5.7 V8 !! 87k miles. I don’t drive it🤷🏻♂️
Wait untill the last week of the year and you will see they gonna drop the prices on some of them, and they already are by $500 or $1000 on the website.
Posted December 11th, leaves still on the trees, when was this filmed ? Just wondering about turn around time ?
Our Carmax is packed
I've sold to CarMax before, are they OK to buy from??
I’ve had much worse experiences at regular dealers.
I never understood why Americans buy big, expensive, high-tech, high-maintenance cars and then complain about the economy. There are plenty of smaller vehicles ubder $30,000 that are reliable.
CEO and top Executives should have limited how many same vehicles on their lots.
I bought a 2021 Ram 1500Laramie Night edition because I wanted the V8 Hemi.
You're forgetting about the $30,000 worth of joy one receives from driving an F-150 Lightning for 6k miles.😂
The only way I'd buy a new Nissan would be if it came with a Toyota transmission and a 250K / 10 year bumper to bumper warranty.
Just looked at several dealers here in Phoenix area. 2024 RAM 1500's don't exist anymore. I'm surprised because they hadnt really offered much in the way of incentives....where did they all go? No way RAM owners are buying the new 6 cylinder Fiat motor....sane people any way.
They dont necessarily need to sell cars to make $$$, The Very Large inventory will make them money
What a hoot. MSRP must be in the 20k range.
They have the most jeeps because that's what rental companies buy and unload really, really cheap
re: the F-150 Lightning PRO... it has only 6000 miles on the clock because it spent _so much_ time at the charging station and the previous owner got fed-up with the hassle of dealing with all the shortcomings of electric vehicles. Yes, he/she was that _desperate_ to get out of that deal.
I finally saw a lightning irl and just shock my head. Fool. 😂
The chemtrails criss-crossing the skies are super creepy.
Does CarMax have any type of floor plan they are paying on all their cars or do they carry them financially themselves?
People with bad or no credit go to carmax. It's clear these people now are broke and can't afford the payments. It's why these carmax lots are full. Question is when will carmax file for bankruptcy?
Stalantis says basically thumb their nose to the customer, and now it's starting to show. They want to revive the brands, they need to slash to prices of what's on the lots and start making what people want again. Ford is not too far behind, they lost a billion dollars on their electric car wet dream.
Can't you buy a new Rav LE for aboutbthe same price is you negotiate. That Rav should be 19900 at most and really 17900.
I like to haggle hence the reason I will never shop at carmax. They are 3-4 too high on everything.
Simple don’t buy it if it’s not a V8 and they will change
I wish carmax would go under.
HELL will freeze over before I buy a turbo 6 banger truck or car! V8...only.
This guy is acting heavy with the EV depreciation. Oscar for you sir.
You should *never* buy an EV unless you plan to keep it forever. Lease it. If you like leasing, then just enjoy your negative equity.
Minimal research will show you that EV market is way too volatile to commit to a purchase.
and Car Maxx is still buying cars,,,,,,guess they think the Auto auctions are gonna save them.
Is this for real? At the beginning you have summer images of trees covered with green leaves with blue sky and then fall images of trees with coloured or no leaves at all with overcast sky.
Someone wanna tell Brandon that Tim K. Is the new CEO of Ram? V8’s are coming back with a vengeance
What does Carmax do if they don't lower their prices to move these vehicles? They can't punish future customers for their bad purchases.
$40k for a gladiator is still too expensive, as it's a $30k MAX vehicle.
Chrysler is likely to start putting out V8's again as they try to start over.
😂
Screw that turbo crap. Put the 6 or 8 back !
Thank the EPA for that.
@@JBM425 EPA and the whole Biden administration along with the climatetards.
I can't believe the people who own car max and their leadership is this stupid. They should be the expert in the used car business.
It's been awhile since I've seen an it's over video. I wonder if He stopped making those videos.
what is worse is that Ford lost 60k and sold it at 65k
Ford 2023 profit 18 bilion
