Hi. I have used the induction cooker for heating the steel pipe. What I did was I pulled out the coil and wrap it around plastic pipe with steel pipe in the middle leaving the air gap between the plastic and the steel pipe. After a few times of heating the pipe the IGBT burned out. Can different arrangement of coil be the reason for IGBT burnout?

please check current sensing track which is connected to preset. this track is connected to IGBT source to preset in this track 470 oham or 4k7( i forget this value )resister may be opened. i think it's smd resister.

Check cooling fan is work or not.
Some times it's problem of surface plate temperature sensor or internal temperature sensor.

You need to insert ferrite bar arround to coil.
And you need to copper wire coil and high speed fan is necessary to IGBT and it's heatsink
