Please Note: A Panera Bread spokesperson has recently said that they are phasing out their Charged Lemonade drinks after the deaths we mentioned in the video and other lawsuits have started pertaining to the highly caffeinated drinks.
Knew caffeine was bad for me.
Recently quit it cold turk.
Damn, it’s almost like you should fact check or something before uploading Mashed. Durrr

Pantera tried taking on Red Bull?!🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ Also….Pantera sold out early when they changed their name from the St. Louis Bread Company to Pantera (note: this was the nickname me and my fellow mall workers called them😂😂😂).
@@user-mn2ju7tv8f I love that band !!
So they wanted to be transparent to their customers but when an employee shows them how the mac n cheese is made, they get fired. Sounds exactly like every other company out there with their ' safety first ' policies. 😂😂
I was a baker for this company for a couple years. What this video says is true about the soups: they come frozen in bags and are heated up in a hot water bath. Done safely, this is fine. And at the time, they tasted good. I loved the mushroom, which I'm sure they no longer carry (along with many, many other great things that were discontinued, but I digress).
Food safely and cleanliness are not always something that's enforced when you have a constant revolving door of low paid employees who really don't care. The soups at the end of the day would be put in a sink with ice and cold water and left to cool while the employees closed, eventually to be put into the fridge before they left, to be reheated in the hot water bath and served again the next day. Often, the baker would find them after the day workers forgot about them and left, and we'd would put them in the walk in, but more often we'd toss them since they were found they'd been floating in tepid water, still warm to the touch, for who knows how long.
Off topic: this will be the last Mashed video I watch as I can't stand another moment of this woman's annoying, trendy "Vocal Fry". Holy crap, that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
As someone who was about to become manager at my local store, I concur about everything. Apart from the end of the soups. My store would make sure the soups were already chilled to the touch and iced down before the daily/nightly workers wheeled them into the walk-in fridge ourselves before we left. If any overnight bakers saw the soups, it was because they came in early enough before we iced them into the soup bin and put them into the fridge overnight. But yeah, most things come prepackaged and frozen, like any fast food place.
Although I HATED cleaning the lemonade and tea dispensers. Absolutely HATED that chore, but as someone employed there, I still did my job, as did everyone in my shop, or they wouldn’t work there anymore. We still did those, 6 in total, one side (3) a day, the other (3) side the next, and so on, and so on.
Now, as a normally intelligent person, if you’re caffeine sensitive, and read ‘charged lemonade’ and still guzzle 3 large cups, and have an episode, you don’t get to sue. That’s your fault, learn to read. I swear, people used to have some common sense. I hate the world these recent years.
@@Khaleesi_Jack Before I started my bake, I asked for a huge cup of plain iced tea. It's what got me through the night (this was before they had "charged" lemonade). You could tell when the dispenser hadn't been cleaned recently, you could practically chew the stuff!
And I couldn't agree with you more. Common sense is a rare commodity these days.
Since they got rid of the 'warm bowls', which were excellent , the recent menu change has become very unfriendly towards gluten free diets. I'm done there.
My biggest issue with Panera: most things aren't made from scratch, but rather simply heated up. That works for fast food, but not so much with fast casual. I enjoy their caffeine lemonades and that's it. I'd rather give businesses my money that actually make things from scratch, even if that means paying more.
Then you have to find a "Ma and Pa" sort of little place......
I don't go there anymore. Higher prices and "peculiar" changes in taste and salty, fatty notes.
As long as they don't get rid of the $23 Family Meal Deal, Panera's cool. BEST bang for your buck in this economy. $$$
What’s included in the meal? How many people does it serve?
And we thought that only places like McDonald's was bad for you....
Panera has discontinued the *‘charged’* drinks. An announcement went out a couple weeks ago.
Just got one yesterday
Very few fastfood places clean any drink dispenser.
Nice One 🤭
What do you think is the shadiest thing about Panera?
Firing people for exposing Mac n cheese 🧀 secrets.....
Nothing, stop rage baiting with your videos.
Having worked at Bread Co (that’s what we STLers call it) for 4 years, I can confirm everything in this video is accurate. And why I will never eat anything from Bread Co ever again.
Newly introduced sandwiches are horrible. They really screwed up on the revised chicken barbeque sandwich now and some really chewy roll with less ingredients. So I no longer order it but it's sad because it was very good. It's not the healthiest place to eat anymore😢
Changed their menu a great deal and got rid of my bagel and my cream cheese. Haven't been back and never will.
Thanks for sharing I never ate the but now I want
Panera is regularly the worst restaurant I pickup for doordash. It's always dirty, employees suck, they take forever on things that are likely frozen, it's like this no matter what location I goto
$4 an entree? What rock have you been living under? More like $12...
Panera always cheats me out of my food.
There's always a MICKEY MOUSE PORTION of whatever - in between the buns!
I remember when I worked at the mall and got a whole sandwich and bowl of soup for $5. Now for $10 you get half a sandwich and cup of soup🤦🏻♂️
Pantera has lost their way 😂
That's still a decent deal on today's economy if it tastes good
It's INFLATION, my friend.
Affects everyone, everywhere!
Still, their food AIN'T WORTH THE MONEY 💰!
@@ThinkHEAVEN-UA-cam it’s more than inflation when you’re charging twice as much for half of the product.
You're right. A mickey mouse portion of dinner - and you spend not a night, but spend a fortune!
Tasteless food. I get similar meals from Starbucks, and get rewarded three times over, through various programs.
I'm not a fan. Also... The fact that they weren't very transparent, with the ingredients in their charged lemonades, is nothing short of a
total abomination.
Gets a pass from California minimum wage requirements.
Panera BREAD next to me sells stale, undercooked, tasteless bread ALWAYS They’re horrible, dirty, complete waste of space. I won’t miss them when they close down soon.
Donations of bread doesn't help much
I am so disappointed!
Because you didn't know that they were "shady", right? 👍
