My husband ordered cheap hoodies from them in the early days. The pic showed just plain gray and black hoodies. The first thing is that he didn’t realize the difference in sizing so they were super tight. The absolute best part is that they had the word “SWAG” in huge letters going down both arms. 💀 Our whole house was wheezing with laughter seeing my tall husband who’s built like an ox doing a fashion show in his 6 sizes too small SWAG hoodies! 🤣 That was worth the little he paid for them.
Iremember when my dad wanted to order some new shoes for my mom on Wish. I told him not to saying he'll probably get two left shoes instead of a complete pair. A month later, he got 2 left shoes.
@@jrsmith1998 I'll let my dad know that the 2 left shoes he received from Wish are actually the correct shoes for my mom because you said I'm lying. You win the internets!

I'm super grateful for all of the influencers that were honest about wish. Everything they ordered barely looked like the picture, apparently it smelled bad, items took forever to ship and in many cases they didn't get all of the items they ordered. I will never download or order anything from Wish, Temu or Shein for this reason.
Same. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. Plus... safety standards? I have no idea what went into these products, how they were processed or handled, etc. For all we know, every shirt is made with 20% asbestos.
Not too much on my girl Shein. Shein is actually good, the best quality you can get for the cheap prices. Some things on Shein have the same sellers on Amazon. And some quality exceed expectations. Been ordering from them for years now, the only thing that’s kinda bad are the shoes. They kinda suck and they need to do better. And sometimes the clothes is see-through depending on what you get so make sure you look at pictures and read the reviews. But 8/10, I get really good stuff. The press on nails look like acrylics, and I get asked about my nails all the time. Only costs like $3-$7 bucks, and I used to pay $200 for my nails that weren’t as cute as Shein’s 😂😂
I ordered a battery bank from Wish during the Pokemon Go peak. It worked amazing for 2 or 3 charges then itd stop charging at 80%. After the hype ended, i cracked it open and the "battery pack" was 6 Rechargeable AA batteries linked together. Batteries hadnt leaked so i repurposed them, the shell is what had failed. Glad i only paid $8 for it
Largely yes. It's a pretty typical Chinese garbage company (or products) that end up the same way - instant success on appearance until customers realise it's a false economy, then it dries up. Temu is trying exactly the same now, and the CCP will continue to encourage such things.
A lot of these sites are basically scams now. Descriptions don't match the pictures so when you order something you get something else and they chalk it up to fine print or that you didn't select the right option when adding to your cart, etc. They're good in theory, but too predatory.
I've been using temu for months now. 9/10 items are fine, 1/10 either the item wasn't as described or dmged during shipping.... I've had 0 issues refunding/receiving credit for damaged items I receive items within 10 days at most, wherever it gets shipped from. In 30 orders, ZERO problems with orders: always receive the right colour, size, # of items... However they're doing it, they are damn fast and accurate. Most importantly, found lotsa cool useful kitchen things for my new home
Ebay you get what you want but if it's electronics it's either far worse performance than expected or it JUST DIES within no time. I have bought a few soldering irons and one lasted a month, the other works but broken cable that needs to be held straight FROM NEW, and the other is pouring smoke. I bought a 4th one recently from a store, a good brand that I had before that lasted 10-12 years
Former Wish engineer here. Everybody around me knew the website sucked and the company was in shambles, but we were paid so well for how little work we did that we tried to stay for as long as possible. I lasted about six months before the mass layoffs. Easiest money I ever made ROFL.
@@bobDotJS React/TypeScript + Python. Didn’t really touch much of the backend as I was primarily a frontend developer. Worked mostly on the product page and mobile search.
My experience with Wish was absolutely terrible. I purchased a Dallas Cowboys bracelet for a friend for her birthday. Not only did it arrive way past her bday, the actual bracelet said Dallas Cowoys. I never purchased anything from there again.
my only experience with wish are those videos on UA-cam when the creator orders stuff from wish and makes fun of it and honestly that's the only way I remember that this company even existed
Same. I WISH they wouldn't even entertain the company with buying from them. The people I watch then donate or raffle off the items, but where are they likely going to end up after that? Especially the gag items like mouse pads with big butts. Nobody genuinely is holding on to a mouse pad of Pepe the frog bent over with inflated cheeks, lol. Eventually, the embarrassment of the item will get to them and it will go in the trash.
the video reminded me of a tshirt I bought during the pandemic. When I received it, the image was literally an upscaled thumbnail of the image. You could see the pixels. I couldn't remember where I bought it, but when I went back in my email just now to see, sure enough, it was my first and only purchase from Wish!
Don’t worry it will arrive in 2034 it’s just a backup order lol. No but seriously I always had to wait 4 to 7 months for a order and after 3 orders I quit wish
As a mail carrier I can’t remember the last time I delivered any of their stuff. And for awhile I was getting a package or two from Temu every day, but that’s dried up, too.
The Dollar store, I at least know what I'm getting and it will at least function at a base level. Buying from sellers like Wish, Aliexpress, and Temu is more like gambling
Exactly. When you go to DG and buy Dawn dish soap, you are getting Dawn dish soap. You buy dish soap on Temu or Wish and it doesn't even bubble. Ita like they literally sold you water with food dye in it lol
I would say that it's not fair to rope Ali in with those two. Whole yes, there are some dodgy products and sellers on there, the vast majority of the goods are exactly what they say they are. My rule of thumb is to be sure to purchase whatever it is you want from the official store for whatever brand it is and if at all possible only make use of sellers that make use of the tracked shipping as standard.
@@WeWillAlwaysHaveVALIS Ali is exactly the same to the point that I wouldn't be surprised if all three were run by the same company to bump sales by being their own competitor.
Nope... had a couple of VERY BAD experiences with WISH! Bought something and then discovered that the thing I bought was a picture of the product. Nope, out. You're right, no oversight on their "sellers".
I bought many items on Wish and the biggest problem is that sellers deceive buyers as the pictures show a much nicer high quality product or bigger in size than reality. The good thing is that when I complain I get a full refund.
I think Wish's issue is that Temu is upping the ante HARD with customer service. Ordered something from them, it was a clamp with flashlight to mount my cell phone to my mountain bike handlebars. They lost the order and refunded my money AND gave me $20 in credit and suggested a very similar item. I spent the credit and it wound up costing barely $1.95! It showed up 4 weeks later. That was last year. I still have it. The headlight still works and it is very stable. I never worry that my phone will fall out even as I bounce my bike over curbs and tree branches. I will admit it, Temu hit Wish hard by focusing a bit more on customer service. It was easy to communicate via text and get a problem resolved the same day.
Or the picture shows much more than you get: I almost bought what I thought was a saxophone - luckily I read the fine print that said 'saxophone case'. I have also seen a picture of a fine guitar, but the text says 'guitar strings'.
Ironically, I think I'm one of the last few people that still use wish and it's technology department, geek. A friend of mine that I worked with 10 years ago introduced me to geek and wish and I got hooked on to them way back then. I guess I've just remained loyal since. Not particularly a fan of temu
yeah it really fucking does, like I remember hearing about wish like almost all the damn time, then it went cold, and now we're rediscovering it like archeologists
I hope Temu and Shein are next. These companies flood the market with garbage products that are largely made by slave labour (hence the price) and which end up in land fills almost immediately. They're terrible in every way, but given that they all bleed money (maybe not Shein, not sure), I hope they run out before they can cement a permanent place in the market.
@@jace1113Great question. IDK about TEMU but Shien is fine. Where else can you purchase a basic tshirt (various colors) for under $5? Not even Walmart.
These apps are also the reason why there is so much wasteful garbage that just ends up in a landfill. Fast fashion and cheap Chinese-made junk have been a blight on the entire world in a race to the bottom as far as quality.
The descriptions of the products were frequently wrong and very misleading. However, there are some very interesting products I have acquired from them, like high-powered handheld lasers that were remarkably cheap, such as a burning blue ~1W laser that only cost about $80. Additionally, I got a green laser that was so bright that the beam could be clearly seen. It was rechargeable, had a solid metal body, and felt very premium. The cost was only $8. I still use one to this day for self-defense and stargazing (whatever else, too).
Another retailer company with Chinese sellers. I remember getting a free shirt from them years ago for making an account. Took me a month to receive it and after wearing it for a week, the white pressed logo already began to show cracks and wear like I wore it for years.
It's chinese culture. Deeply ingrained. If they're able to cheat you or pull the wool over your eyes, it's your fault and you deserve it. That's the mentality there. Same reason they massive cheat on online games.
Poor shipping was the main reason I stopped using the app. It would take almost two months to ship an order, and by that time, I would've completely forgotten about what I bought.
Well, that's the tradeoff you get. In the "glory days" it was normal to see a box show up on my doorstep. It was always dodgy packaging. At least they had the sense to always stamp the Wish logo on the label. The funny thing is, whenever I opened it, half the time, I had to scratch my head and ask myself "When the f did I order this??" 😂 I remembered only 75% of the stuff I had bought from them in the past but to my surprise, a significant number of the items were decent quality for the price. The biggest shocker was that they have never sold me a lousy pair of tennis shoes. The shoes were always decent but of course, word gets around. When I want to buy another pair, they're always sold out, LOL...
I did get some good items on wish but lots of bad items and wrong items. When wrong items would show up the sellers would either ignore me or tell me “too bad”. When that’s your business model you will lose customers fast.
Hey man, just wanted to say that I'm stoked that you keep coming up with unique ideas for the channel. I didn't even know that Wish declined until this video. Thanks!
The only thing I ever bought from Wish was a deck of _JoJo's Bizarre Adventure_ tarot cards. I was shocked because the print quality was actually really good, so much so that I wasn't sure if I actually ordered it from Wish.
I once needed a pair of "throwaway" shoes so I went to Wish. They had a decent looking pair of hiking high tops that were about $19. These were amazing knockoffs of a big name brand that cost $120. Of course, it took more than a month to arrive but I had plenty of experience with the website by then. It came a month before my vacation so I had time to break them in. They were comfortable and the quality was much better than I expected. I was shocked that they lasted an entire year. What's hilarious is that they held up well but one day, just fell apart! The stitches holding the upper and lower halves just split without any warning. Usually, shoes start to wear loose in the toe or heel area before they fail. The Wish shoes just "broke." I didn't feel bad. For $20, they served me well for a year. Worth every penny. I was a bit surprised that they were still showing it on their website so I clicked to buy another pair but got the pop-up message saying "Sorry, this is no longer available." Searched for half an hour and found something similar. It didn't last as long but for an altogether total of barely $40 and two pairs of shoes in two years, I can't complain!
I have used to buy stuff from Wish before. Mostly cheap pins stickers or rings with a few exceptions. Usually, the quality I got was okay. The thing I didn't like about it was the long shipping times as well as the fact that shipping costs would drive the cost up a bit. Since a lot of the things I picked were lower in cost it seemed often that the price would be doubled. Shipping time then would take a month or more. So I stopped buying from them after being fed up or just losing interest. Then I found out about Temu and already like them a lot more. Really not surprised Wish had declined the way it did.
Back in high school I once ordered 1 singular earbud from Wish which was made to look like one of those ear devices people hard of hearing wore. The idea was that teachers at school wouldn’t question it if it looked like a medical device…. It worked. 4 months later because my debit card was saved to Wish.. I got a random order in the mail that I supposedly purchased some off brand Apple Watch. $50 taken from me, no point of returning as it would’ve took weeks. Never used wish again
I know you mentioned in the yearly q&a that you'd be doing more of these videos, and I've gotta say it works really well. I think if you're running low on topics for companies that are alive and kicking, it makes sense to use this barrel of topics which is more plentiful
Ordered two things from Wish way back in 2016. Both experiences were on opposite ends of the spectrum: - ordered gaming headphones. Cheap plastic with a usb splitter for lighting. Not so good speakers/mic - Red and white shoes (think Sonic Soap shoes). Very light, comfortable, surprisingly slip resistant, flexible. I’ve been trying to find another similar looking shoe, but to no avail. They were a hit or miss company. And yes, the shipping times were odd. Received the headphones in 2 weeks and the shoes arrived in 2 months.
Here is my theory regarding shoes. If you buy a pair that gets decent reviews, chances are high that HUNDREDS of people are reading those reviews and flock to that one item. They see the price: not even $25?? Sold! Then they clean out the entire inventory in barely 2 days. It turns out there was never anything left after the first massive wave of customers. That's why even though they have always sold me a half decent pair of shoes, I'm too shy to post positive reviews on them. It'll turn on the floodgates! I've never been able to buy the same pair of shoes twice if they were decent, LOL.
Customers want reliable service and quality as described. Successful retailers have learned this lesson: accurate product descriptions, reliable delivery (if shipping), a sound returns policy, and reasonable prices. Wish did not do anyone that. The key problem was no one had a solid retail background.
Temu may actually get to live longer due to the interesting choices they are making. They opened a Warehouse here in the US which is greatly reducing shipping waiting times, they are not spending as much as Wish on ad campaigns and are relaying more on word of mouth amongst other things. Also in my experience with them, the quality of the stuff is decent to good, nowhere near as bad as Wish...
@@JesusGarcia-ub2wtidk about you, but all the electronics I've ever got from wish, I still use them today. Same thing with tools. These babies have been through rain, factories, construction sites, even through a vehicle fire. They still work. as does all my other wish products. Everything I've purchased from temu has broken within 3 months or less. So far not impressed. I'll stay with wish thanks

I never bought anything. My mom did the max with Wish tho. She mostly bought curtains and random novelty kitchen tools. Out of all the crap she bought, only two things are still in use: a trash bag clip meant to keep bags from sagging into the bin (works like a dream, easy to clean) and a salad strainer. The curtains were cute but came apart after a couple washes. 😂
@@ItsJoKeZ Yep. I don't understand how so many people made dirt cheap purchases yet expected quality. Price is the top priority for Wish products, so it takes a long time for them to arrive, and they're lower quality than comparable name brands. If you set your expectations accordingly, Wish is perfectly fine for products where there is a margin for variance in the quality, like toys, doo-dads, trinkets, etc... I was perfectly happy with all of my purchases and they arrived within the expected delivery window.
@@ItsJoKeZ Cheap can be good if the item is priced correctly. You really mean badly made or lower quality. Cheap means lower value, not lower quality necessarily.
@@Tamarocker88 Because a lot of people have no clue about how things are done and how valuable are them and how an item is priced according to quality of construction and materials.
There were product review (Vivian Tries) and scam busting (Pleasant Green) channels who would film their hauls and show us what a disappointment Wish was.
seen your video, love it. i've purchased previously. items i did buy, and after receiving it. seeing the product 1st hand, is another story altogether. look for footnotes on the size and color. if you have more questions, ask the seller.
I once bought a wrist watch on Wish. It took so long to arrive I forgot I even ordered it. I’m talking like 6+ months. And then, when it arrived, it didn’t even work.
I like AliExpress a lot more than wish because 90% of the time I receive the product and it doesn't take more than 2 months tops. Usually more like 2-4 weeks
I mean wish temu shein same thing its chinese drop shipping e-commerce with horrible working conditions that make money by undercutting prices to a minimum by worker pay being nothing, product QC being non existent, and no real customer protections. The main reasons the other 2 are bigger is they are newer while wish is old news.
Don't forget the subsidized shipping. There's no way a $3 plastic trinket is going to ship halfway around the world at no cost to the consumer and still make a profit without that.
@@needfuldoer4531shipping not only supported by the gov but cheapened by china still having a developing nation status. meaning it is cheaper to ship stuff from CHINA TO AMERICA then it can be to ship things from close countries or even in-country. china: the only 1st world 3rd world democratic communist superpower
@@needfuldoer4531I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I've heard that the reason why Chinese e-commerce sites like TikTok shop, shien, and temu offer free shipping and return is because US tax money goes to China because China is a developing nation.
I would attribute Wish's initial rise to nostalgia with the Christmas catalogs of established retailers. Those were the "wish" catalogs for many children. It would be unreasonable to assume that naming a retail company _Wish,_ wouldn't get people interested. But, as soon as customers realized that Wish isn't what they thought it was, they left.
I wonder if changes in mailing made a few years ago undermined their shipping out of China. Use to be that most items were delivered basically for free by the USPS under agreements with other countries meaning once it hit our shore it got where it was addressed. It is also possible that Etsy undermined wish by allowing sellers to have others make and ship products which is causing a whole different issue and may lead to Etsy to drop in popularity.
The income status of WISH customers is not something anyone can know. They sell cheap products but that does not correlate to their customer be lower income.
I ordered a LED light strip. I got it a few weeks later. it didnt come with any cords or plugs or anything and I had to look up how to operate it, een though the picture showed a plug, and the description said nothing about needing one. I never bought a second thing from wish again. or temu, or anything else
The big for me was the shipping times. Yes I could get stuff cheap, but when it averaged 4-6 weeks, why not pay a little more from Amazon and get it within three days?
The likes of Temu overtook it. Honestly some people might have issues with Temu but I personally have never had any. All the stuff I’ve ordered from Temu has looked great and been great. Can’t say the same for Wish!
My only purchase on Wish was a green laser that my professor recommended to his class back in 2015. It was durable and worked like it should. Felt in the hand like it cost more than it did. I'd still have it if I hadn't lost it. Only complaint was waiting something like 3 months for it to arrive.
You haven’t been too harsh. My husband ordered a “kilt” from Wish 3 years ago. What showed up was a cheap, green, poly/cotton plaid skirt with a half-elastic waist that was definitely meant for women/girls. It’s definitely been a family joke since then. The only actual quality item he ever got was handheld shower hose replacement. We’ve actually had it in our shower for the last 3+ years and it’s never broken or leaked. In fact, he’d bought two “just in case” and we still have the backup, ready if we ever need it. So there was ONE Wish item that was worth buying.
I don't think you were harsh at all. Sometimes the reality of the situation is hard to stomach. You presented a well thought out argument to support your position and didn't exaggerate your facts.
There was a time when I shopped a lot on WISH. In the beginning I had some bad experiences with what actually turned up. I was prepared for low quality - after all you don't get premium quality for that amount of money, but the biggest problem for me was size. As an example I once ordered a denim jacket in size 5XL, and I normally use 2XL. When it arrived it was clear that I could never get it on, as it was way too small, even in 5XL size. I gave it to a friend whom it fit perfectly - and he says he normally use size medium! After a while I found some areas where the quality was OK: I bought a lot of basic electronic components, some tools, some electronics kits, hair accessories, decorations, and other things. What made me give up WISH was that suddenly their prices was drastically raised. The reason was - and I was surprised it wasn't mentioned in the video - that the tax and shipping regulations in the EU was changed so they could no longer ship very cheap and without import tax.
Yes it was crappy products but most of the products I bought actually worked. What brought them down was that they started charging way more for shipping, shipping that took longer than 2 months. Not worth it.
I stopped using Wish because I got a sweater THREE years afte I ordered it and they swore it was delivered to me. I also bought a retractable house for my house and it exploded in my face! I’m good.
When I met people who would ask my advice about ordering from Wish (because I had done it a few times) I would tell them about the time I ordered a fleece blanket that covered an entire human person in the photo, but arrived no larger than a dishtowel. You had to pay attention to exactly what you were ordering (look at things like dimensions, description, the other “options” available on the listing, etc. Only spend as much as you’d be comfortable losing because you may get the wrong item, or not get it at all. It was very hit or miss, and returns were pretty much impossible. If it looked too good to be true, it probably was. Multiple listings existed for the same item with wildly different pricing and Items listed for “free” were actually just charging through inflated “shipping” costs. Items would often arrive smelling foul or with an unknown powder substance. Last, only order items for which quality won’t matter too much. I used Wish mostly to order nail supplies (files, plastic tips, glitter, organizers, etc.). I would not order chemical products, clothing, or technology.
My mom used to buy things from Wish. But here's the thing- a lot of the items she bought came from China- which means it took weeks- or even months for them to arrive. & the items aren't always in great quality- she ended up asking for refunds very often due to items never arriving. So I'm sure she doesn't have fond memories of using Wish.
Wish saved me during the great toilet paper shortage of 2020. While stores and Amazon were out of stock and eBay was insanely expensive, Wish got me bulk TP that was decent quality for cheap. It was crazy lol
Off topic of the video, but I was just thinking when a Blaze Pizza near me closed how they used to be everywhere, now there are fewer locations. I don't know if it could be an idea for a future video.
I loved Wish during the pandemic. I came into it with the expectation that I was buying absolute garbage, but for the price it was fun to check them out, and there were a few things I was actually super happy with. Temu really hasn’t scratched the itch in the same way. Also, Wish had INCREDIBLE customer service and returns/refunds were super fast when necessary
Except they're actually doing things better.
Shipping used to be per item, then they made it flat rate but more than doubled all item prices - exactly the plan described at 6:20. Temu appeared and was cheaper, so people started shopping there instead.
I’m gonna say that Wish is okay for mundane items. Want a cheap novelty t-shirt? Go for it. Want a silicone funnel? Why not? It’s not like these items are too complex or expensive to make, so naturally these are the things that are usually fine. Honestly though, the trash that was sold and obviously too good to be true is part of the Wish experience. It was (and as of writing is) the original place to find ridiculous knockoff garbage, and that’s why I like it. It’s the “I have some extra money to burn so let’s buy this ridiculous thing and see how bad it is” site. Obviously it’s no longer alone in this niche (even Amazon now sells a lot of low-quality/scam items), but it’ll always hold a place in my heart as the original trash seller.
I have bought a few items from Wish, and almost everything I did get was just -- fine. Not great, but fine. If something did go wrong (which happened), customer service was great, and I got my money back with no issues. I still have at least one item I was sent by mistake (they didn't want it back, they just said "keep the money and the item"). The real reason why I stopped occasionally buying stuff was a change in European customes rules, or more specifically the cancellation of the "no import VAT" threshold that used to exist. Now everything is taxed if the tax is at least 1 EUR, and with a 19% VAT rate, that limits what you can buy tax-free drastically. Paying import involves fees that can be a multiple of the tax amount itself. I have no idea if Wish has solved that issue for European customers; I just found out I didn't really need the cheap stuff that badly anyway.
I purchased from Wish twice, it was all junk that didn't match the description and it took like 1.5 months to arrive BUT I did get a cool gel ice cube tray from there that I still use.
My roommates and I chipped in to buy our living room TV from wish in college... Thing would power off occasionally and came with the wrong legs, but it worked!😂
Last things I ordered from Wish was several years back - a few rings, just plain bands. I actually love them, because I was wise enough to order a size up, and they're indestructable because they're stainless steel - I guess even they couldn't mess that up, lol! But I decided to quit while I was ahead and I've never bothered with anything else since. I would never buy anything from Temu or Shein either. They're all just punchlines now. Great video as usual, Company Man!
Do you think their decline has anything to do with the rise of companies such as Temu, Shein, or Light in the Box? These are all low priced retailers that generally sell Chinese merchandise.
When you ordered something from Wish you always recieved something with less value than what you paid. When you order from Temu you always recieve something with a higher value than what you would expect at that price. Atleast that is my experience but I might just have been lucky.
i’m from singapore & i was surprised my country was mentioned! we never needed wish. more than 70% of our population is ethnically chinese, we can use taobao directly. my friends of other races have asked me to help them buy stuff too. you’d be surprised, i’ve gotten lots of gems on taobao over the years at absurdly low prices. granted, our earning power in singapore’s higher than china. edit: our “local” e-commerce brands would be shopee & lazada, funnily a lot of the sellers are obviously from taobao too. as long as your race is registered as chinese in singapore, unless there’s some special exemption, you’ll have to take it as a 2nd language until you’re 16 or 17 (depending on which “study stream” you are)
As someone who never used Wish, I was hesitant because of the Tech community on UA-cam telling me how much of it was fake. Even buying a bran name item could result in fake products.
In the UK most products imported directly from China get slapped with an import duty tax when they arrive in the country, which results in the courier withholding your package until it is paid. Considering people who buy from Wish want the cheapest prices, this comes as a nasty negative shock that they are being punished with an "extra undisclosed fee" as a "tax avoider", which people remember to avoid in the future.

Everything they ordered barely looked like the picture, apparently it smelled bad, items took forever to ship and in many cases they didn't get all of the items they ordered. I will never download or order anything from Wish, Temu or Shein for this reason.

Only costs like $3-$7 bucks, and I used to pay $200 for my nails that weren’t as cute as Shein’s 😂😂
as far as a business shein is definitely trash, their products are decent though.

I bought many items on Wish and the biggest problem is that sellers deceive buyers as the pictures show a much nicer high quality product or bigger in size than reality.
The good thing is that when I complain I get a full refund.
Yea, they normally are pretty good about that....still things are junk so never spend much money because most of the stuff is refunded..
Seeing the Wish logo in this thumbnail along with the text, "what happened?" made me feel like I ran into an old ex at a party.
Ironically, I think I'm one of the last few people that still use wish and it's technology department, geek.

Why is jojo in lower case?😂

JoJo tarot cards is probably the best thing I’ve heard this week 😂 I need to know what card Dio was on lmao
It worked.

Both experiences were on opposite ends of the spectrum:
- ordered gaming headphones. Cheap plastic with a usb splitter for lighting. Not so good speakers/mic
- Red and white shoes (think Sonic Soap shoes).
I still have screenshots of wish ads showing “50 pieces crackpipe” and a shirt that says “i love meth” LOL
Customers want reliable service and quality as described. Successful retailers have learned this lesson: accurate product descriptions, reliable delivery (if shipping), a sound returns policy, and reasonable prices. Wish did not do anyone that. The key problem was no one had a solid retail background.
Standards being lower than Dollar Stores is bad. I had heard of the constantly bad products, that's why I never used Wish.
No surprise that Wish is dead. I believe Temu and Shien will follow the same trend, with the latter dying sooner.
Shien is already on a decline
Temu may actually get to live longer due to the interesting choices they are making. They opened a Warehouse here in the US which is greatly reducing shipping waiting times, they are not spending as much as Wish on ad campaigns and are relaying more on word of mouth amongst other things. Simple answer.....buy the good thing ONCE! You can get quality stuff at a discount, but you can go too cheap.
For me it was the long wait on shipping and the crap quality. Just because something's cheap doesn't mean it's a good value
cheap literally means it isn't good value! I don't know why that's lost meaning to people... somehow cheap and good became the same thing.
@@ItsJoKeZ Yep. I don't understand how so many people made dirt cheap purchases yet expected quality. Price is the top priority for Wish products, so it takes a long time for them to arrive, and they're lower quality than comparable name brands.

Lol same here.

Made my first WISH purchase in 2017 and the local store for item pickup was SUPER sketchy....LOL!
I did the same thing! It was at a local music shop and they acted like I was disturbing them lol
Yes it was crappy products but most of the products I bought actually worked. What brought them down was that they started charging way more for shipping, shipping that took longer than 2 months. Not worth it.
Every time I’ve seen an ad I think
“If it’s too good to be true it is”
I’ve had plenty of positive experiences with Wish, honestly. Often, the quality of items was better than expected, for me, at least.
The CCP torpedoed wish by subsidizing Temu.
I stopped using Wish because I got a sweater THREE years afte I ordered it and they swore it was delivered to me. I also bought a retractable house for my house and it exploded in my face! I’m good.
Temu destroyed Wish 🤷♀️
My mom accidentally bought a bunch of like Barbie furniture on there one time
My mom used to buy things from Wish.
You know you can use water to wash your ass, right? This is what most of the entire world does instead of wasting money on TP.

Up next, the rise and fall of Rocket Money
Ha!
Wasteful, boring, senseless, and no regard for the exploited workers or the environment.

Use your money for better things. There are kids going hungry fgs
I am a simple man, I enjoy my Company Man with a Modelo. Which I would ask for a video of.
I purchased from Wish twice, it was all junk that didn't match the description and it took like 1.5 months to arrive BUT
I did get a cool gel ice cube tray from there that I still use.
Don't wanna ruin your parade but I wouldn't consume anything that came from a wish/temu/SheIn product.
I cant believe people actually bought stuff from wish
Wish and Temu are bed buddies.
Temu is WAYYYYY better you can actually get good things there
Yeah but Temu is a bit more reliable on receiving your package within a few weeks anytime I ordered from wish it was 6 to 7 months
They deffo fuck

i’m from singapore & i was surprised my country was mentioned! we never needed wish. more than 70% of our population is ethnically chinese, we can use taobao directly. my friends of other races have asked me to help them buy stuff too.
you’d be surprised, i’ve gotten lots of gems on taobao over the years at absurdly low prices. granted, our earning power in singapore’s higher than china.
edit: our “local” e-commerce brands would be shopee & lazada, funnily a lot of the sellers are obviously from taobao too. as long as your race is registered as chinese in singapore, unless there’s some special exemption, you’ll have to take it as a 2nd language until you’re 16 or 17 (depending on which “study stream” you are)
They were never any good.
As someone who never used Wish, I was hesitant because of the Tech community on UA-cam telling me how much of it was fake. Even buying a bran name item could result in fake products.
Rebranded temu
In the UK most products imported directly from China get slapped with an import duty tax when they arrive in the country, which results in the courier withholding your package until it is paid. Considering people who buy from Wish want the cheapest prices, this comes as a nasty negative shock that they are being punished with an "extra undisclosed fee" as a "tax avoider", which people remember to avoid in the future.
