Nothing new under the sun. I wanted to make use of my cajon while I played. My feet just do this anyway... so a quick Google search and of course someone has already done it lol. And solid DIY too. You're speaking my language! Love it.
Love these '' one man band '' inventions. Lots of great ideas. Not a singer ,not a musician, but a genius. Please post some videos of your musical talents, and ''we'' will be the judges !! Thanks for the ideas. I just built myself a cajon out of a ply box to transport a wood burning stove, with a hardwood ply face, and turned out to have a better sound than the one in the shops. Kick base is next.
Thanks for the great ideas, i'm a home guitarist and singer of no particular talent who bought a foot tambourine and now wants to try some other foot percussion techniques. This is just what i was looking for.
Hi Andy and thanks for the note! I built the cajon for about $40, but if woodworking’s not your thing, I’m betting you could find one on Craig’s list for about that price or maybe even less I got the smaller (very basic) kick pedal from musician’s Friend with a 25% off coupon for just at $30. The Latin Percussion kick pedal with the cable was the most expensive component-$110 on a sale I found on Sweetwater. My son plays a mean harmonica-I really love that sound! Good luck, and keep making music!
Could you not use 2 of the same pedal with different mallets? I just built a cajon and looking to get a rhythm component into my harp playing so need hands free. Totally on a budget here!
This is great, I have the bass pedal set already and have been building thinking about adding the snare option and how to do it. I have an idea using a double pedal arm…a bit more complex but maybe more comfortable. However if that doesn’t work I am going to use your as it’s so simple/brilliant 👍. Nice work and nice playing/singing as well!
Little late, but have you thought about replacing the rubber band on your wood click stomp with some rare earth magnets? Sure extra rubber bands are cheap but they will tear at some point.
Thanks my friend-super kind! Really appreciate it and I’m glad you liked the lil rig idea. The more I play around with it the more natural it starts to feel. Happy summer bro!
Thanks for this! I have an old double kick pedal from when I played drums, so I could make this work, if I can make one beater much longer. I'm playing keys now, and more specifically I'm getting an Indian style Harmonium, and was looking into ways to have foot percussion going at the same time if wanting some rhythm. I really hadn't seen anyone address how to use the snare of the cajon with your feet before, it's good to know it's easily possible.
Sure appreciate the comment, Mark! Would love to see a video of you doing your keyboard & cajon combo-I’ve NEVER seen anything like that before. Happy holidays!
Nice job sir. I take a little less of a technical approach and just add feat to the back of the cajon. Then lay it with the playing surface facing up, get on a tall stool and get the kick and snare sound with toe taps👍🇺🇸
Very cool Nice demonstration I’m a learning blues harmonica player and I need stomp and something too One of my guru jazzie smith has this kind of set up Hey what it cost you for all of that do you think Thanks for sharing
Sorry for the slow reply! I built 4 cajons (materials: $60.00),kick bass cable pedal ($78.00 on sale), ordinary kick ($31.00), wood block simulator ($10.00)
Is it this d'ya reckon? www.amazon.co.uk/Mr-Power-Plastic-Percussion-Musical-Instrument/dp/B07M9X9Q5M/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?dchild=1&keywords=Percussion+block&qid=1596023433&sr=8-11
With a little practice it’s starting to feel more “natural” to keep rhythm ... not really much different than tapping a foot. ua-cam.com/video/ygOQTLf-vCo/v-deo.html
Interesting Thanks Yet so many drummers play pedals with the ball of their foot not the heal Imagine adapting to this is possible while keeping things fluid and in a groove Hey, but you’re playing guitar and singing too so don’t sell yourself short compared to us drum bums 🤘
Thanks for sharing. The rubber band idea is really clever, low tech and simple in a good way. And your rhythm is great.

Thanks so much my friend-super kind!
So much respect for percussionists out there!
Thanks for the great ideas, i'm a home guitarist and singer of no particular talent who bought a foot tambourine and now wants to try some other foot percussion techniques.
This is just what i was looking for.
Awesome, I like your idea of using two pedals on your cajon, one for kick and one for snare, I’m gonna try that! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for the kind comment - hope you have a ball with this!
I like the amp in the fireplace
Thanks Man!

Me too! You nailed it man, what a great solution for having all in one. Thanks so much!!
I was gonna comment it sounds horrible, but yes his musicianship is impressive with the singing, picking and thumping at the same time.
Cool snare gadget. It's the first I've seen. Your performance was also nice.
Love this. Really useful for ideas, thanks.

So Cool, congratulations
Not a singer...then proceeds to be great and destroy my vocal ability, lol. Great ideas, brother!
Thanks my friend-super kind! Really appreciate it and I’m glad you liked the lil rig idea. The more I play around with it the more natural it starts to feel. Happy summer bro!
Pretty neat, thanks!
Mind exploded... here I am a 30+ trying to learn guitar and see this guy doing double pedal and guitar.
You are too kind Jay-thank you! Just keep doing what you want to do and have fun with all of it!
Definitely keep trying to learn some guitar. A little goes a REALLY long way!
Fantastic

You took away a job and got yourself some extra bucks man!
That’s tooo funny! Thanks!
Awesomeness

AWESOME!!!! Just what I was looking for. What kind of cajon is that can you drop some links
Wish I could drop a link, it I built the cajon myself :-)
Very cool
Nice demonstration

Watching guitar players play a cajon is a good way to learn how to play drums without pissing off the guitar player
LOL!
Muy bueno...
nICE WORK
nice man
Interesting ideas - but why are you playing the pedals backwards? 😮
Wow that's amazing dude. I'm actually gonna try this. What are those wee colourful cowbell things called?

Hey want to ask you, whats the song that u sing? Thx for the inspiration
Thx for the kind comment! The song is “Wagon Wheel.”
Here’s another lil video using the pedals... this one to an original song ua-cam.com/video/sPoUEyG1rG0/v-deo.html
Wow 🤩
Says he's not a guitarist, has as an amp in his fireplace. 🤣
Como hacerlos es la pregunta ?
Which components are you asking how to make? I'm happy to share!
This issue is everything I see like this there is no "Crash"
but well done
What cajon do you have?
I made it myself. The snares are located near the upper corners. Hope that helps!
Geil 👍👍👍
yea but this is like the electrician doing also plumbing
🤔😂😂👍👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷👍
Interesting
Thanks
