What’s interesting is there is no victim in this dynamic. Soldier Boy in his day was likely a carbon copy of Homelander and didn’t love Countess particularly either but was just abusively overbearing and territorial of her like how HL is of Maeve and associated that as feelings of love. Same goes for the scene where he says his father looked at him as a disappointment and our initial reaction to that is to feel sympathy for SB but when history repeats itself with the scene with HL in the finale we finally understand SB’s fathers POV. In the end he really was a disappointment because all he was was a roided up poster boy employed to sell a lie to the masses. I don’t think SB is as bad as HL but he’s not a saint by any means either.

Yeah, but I think part of the reason why Soldier Boy actually said that was BECAUSE of his father telling him that (and maybe his father’s father told him that, who knows). At the end of the day I don’t think we can say Soldier Boy deserved to hear that as much as Homelander, and hearing that from his father was probably what encouraged him to be such an a**hole to his team Payback for the next few decades.

Eric kripke did a really good decision by bringing Jensen from supernatural after it ended over to the boys nicely done and also bringing back some older characters from the earlier seasons into the boys knowing that they have really good acting skills and looked over for bigger roles

Broooo it would be hilarious if next season they bring Jared Padelecki is as a Challenger basically saying that Soldier Boy had either a Brother or Adopted brother who went mad/insane after he found out Soldier Boy died. Only to volunteer as a test subject also and given powers but does evil and vile things jus like Soldier Boy and when the team found out they had to secretly mount an attack on him resulting in them Using Mindstorm/Brainstorm to put him in a coma as a fearful attempt at keeping what they and Edgar had down a secret. Crazy part is in my mind and imagination is that Soldier Boy Adopted bro finds out thru interrogating and killing witnesses from both sides of the war that Russia had Soldier Boy and headed there but was met in a field at like 3am only about 2-3kilometers from the base by the ex-teammates (Payback) of Soldier Boy and Stan Edgar who warn Jared Padelecki (SB adoptive bro) to back down and not go thru with his plan to set SB free but was unfazed in his Determination and went forward resulting in a Fight in which Jared (SB adoptive bro) begins to get close to victory (Being almost Super Durable and Immune to the blast that Crimson Countess hurls out) only to be hit with a unified attack and is managed to be restrained long enough for them to force Jared's (SB Adoptive bro) eyes open for Mindstorm to put him into a Coma-Catatonic state and houses him in a secret base. Years later SB comes home to the modern day world and finds out from someone after escaping in the new season from that base after being put to sleep again after the events of last season. It would be dope to have Soldier Boy catch up to the lady that was watching Ryan or Stan Edgar or even the Doctor that Homelander crippled and basically torture them to the point of them begging or trying to make a deal to live by sharing that SB's lil adoptive bro is alive and also not only volunteered to get Compound V but also tried to mount a daring attempt to break him out and was almost successful but was stopped a few inches short of the finish line. Well that is jus a lil bit of my Imagination. Hope yall enjoyed my imagination running wild with my idea of an interesting story line.
Who knows? Maybe if i could get a call or video chat with Eric Kripke and Jensen Ackles They'd possibly be interested or intrigued in my idea. Then again my idea seems kinda goofy ik. But still it would possibly make an incredible storyline bringing in Jared and having Dean, Sam, and Bobby, heck maybe even having Misha Collins show up as a guard or next door neighbor possibly childhood friend of SB who's locked up and reaches out to SB and actually reveals the truth about Jared( SB Adoptive bro).

Man, i haven't heard that song in so fucking long. Used to listen to it before every fight i had. No joke the one fight i lost, i wasn't able to listen to the song before that fight. Not saying the song made me tougher or better, but there's something to be said about certain music helping us get into that mindset.
By the way, the editing on this was top notch, having the songs volume build as soldier boys blast builds and then going right into the drop right as he explodes was a fantastic touch, really clever editing and timing.

Just goes to show how soldier boy unlike homelander doesn't have a god complex. He is capable of loving someone on an EQUAL level.
Soldier Boy is an interesting character compared to Homelander. Both are clearly deeply damaged by their upbringing and exploitation by Voight, and both have become extremely amoral as a result, but there's a clear difference - Homelander appears to be highly narcissistic, but Soldier Boy does not. Unlike Homelander he actually seems to recognise how toxic he is, and feel shame over it. Basically Homelander loves himself, Soldier Boy hates himself.
And people say Homelander is more powerful ,look at that blast.

@@chandlerstillion6320 that's irrelevant you're missing my entire point, I agree her character in the show is horrible that's a fact but that's literally not her fault she is just an actress lol, her comicbook counterpart was one of the best female characters and her best arc could've redeemed her TV counterpart. In season 2 she was only telling Beth to off herself because Frank Darabont was writing the characters in a way so they'd create drama amongst themselves since the low budget didn't allow for them to direct scenerios that were more action/plot driven rather than character/dialogue driven. Similar thing happens with the season 3 showrunner who had no idea what he was doing with her character and killed her off because he couldn't fix his mess and left the show right afterwards. The point is if they actually cared from the beginning Andrea was supposed to be one of the best characters as iconic as Michonne but the showrunners screwed over any opportunity of that happening. Michonne and Carol ended up taking most of her comicbook story but Carol is basically the opposite of this scenario since she dies miserably in the comics around the same point but her TV counterpart is one of the best characters and lives til the end.
