@@jessyreyes You have your phone on a tripod. So you can use your watch as the viewfinder. Now suddenly you don't have to leave the camera view to zoom in.
@Peterstarzynskitech all galaxy's already have the wave and take picture feature. Lol not enough differences from oura to really justify it :/

Exactly. That's why I am not buying this first iteration. Certainly there would be some bugs. And very limited features. I would probably get version 3. I mean, you never know, but my personal rule is that you never buy any new product before its third iteration.
maybe thieves can get money from ur ring from a NFC device, what they have by the stores. Watches u need to go to the app to activate it

A good idea, but a bad idea too. If someone steals your ring, there's no way to lock or unlock it. So people can start paying for stuff with your stolen ring. :(
@NatalieRath you can unpaired it with your device so no need to worry if someone steals it
@NatalieRath can have it only work near your device. Would be better than having a card on you. Cards don't even need pin codes now a day to use
@@NatalieRath Maybe you would need to unlock it via your phone. Much like a smartwatch, I imagine it will be able to detect when it was removed from a finger. Then perhaps it could auto-lock
this is so useful, I can now track daily activity, heart rate, sleep without wearing my smartwatch also I can now wear my other mechanical watches while tracking my activity with the ring
Only if you don't like accurate data. This thing is horrible and reads heart rate even when not wearing it.

To be fair it's not that expensive compared to quality metal jewelry especially when this can actually do more than just be a visual accessory but personally I'd prefer the watch

No NFC feature means we're definitely still in early development. I'd wait for the 2nd gen or 3rd gen version of it and see how much improvements they put into it soon.
Unfortunately, they need enough early adopters to justify continued development

Personally, waking up from my alarms is really challenging, so a little vibrating alarm on the ring would wake me up easier for work, school, etc. Would be a good feature.

Honestly that's why I'm glad my watch vibrates when my alarms go off 😅

If they add two things: payment and vibration notification on call/sms - I would change my iphone to Samsung with this ring instantly.

For me I'd never use, but yes more features the better!! It'll come, first generation, next couple years should have some good upgrades, then it'll be like the folds where it kinda is incremental

Defo needs NFC payment feature, maybe vibrations for silent notifications and a whole bunch of gestures that work with certain Apps, Air mouse would be cool? All while still keeping it minimal in size.

I'm really looking forward to the ring. I've been waiting for months. The biggest benefit to the ring over the watch to me is I Only where my watch when I'm Going Out and a tracker 24/7. Especially monitoring my sleep very uncomfortable wearing a watch to bed.
I agree. I usually don't want to wear my watch when going to bed and the fact that you have to charge it every other day. With this, I can wear it while i sleep and it can track it for me instead of a bulky watch.
Helps with having a partner that hates feeling the watch in bed to sleep. The ring isn't in the way like the watch

Could you please check the ring in a swimming pool? Will Samsung Health record swimming as the watch do? And I think that the ring is very good for someone like me, who wants to wear legacy watches and does not want to lose Samsung Health features.
No nfc sucks. Being able to pay with a ring would be so convenient
I am really hoping for the pinch controls that they add music controls to it too like double pinch to pause and play your music and maybe like a triple pinch to skip a song i think that would be really cool and would be a little faster than using your watch to pause a song for a quick conversation

I want the ring for sleep tracking the most. I find the watch too unconfortable when sleeping.
As a watch guy I like the idea of having something to keep tracking my fitness and stats while wearing one of my nice analog watches, and I'll pop a smart watch on for gym workouts. Unfortunately it won't work with my Pixel 8 pro. 😶

You mention lifting. Do you lift with a ring? I agree about having the UWB feature included. A no brainer for a key type feature. It'll hopefully be on the Galaxy Ring 2.

I use dex alot, if this can act like a mouse while in dex I might be interested in it.
Why use your watch for pictures... forward facing camera on the samsung you can raise your hand and it does a 5 second count down.
can you have it buzz for notifications? I like being able to get messages from my watch without looking at my phone but I miss wearing a normal watch

The main appeal for these rings is supposed to be minimalism. I hate wearing either my apple watch or my samsung one when I have a collection of watches I wantto show off when I go out. Also, my gf hates when I go to sleep with the watch to track my sleep since even though its slim, it still gets in the way

The titanium black ring shows scratches so the titanium silver will be most durable in my opinion

the galaxy watch makes your ring last 30% longer because it has to monitor less stuff. Otherwise maybe a little more accurate?

Its kind of cool if you still want to wear a classic watch like a citizen or rolex.
But i have a better idea . A band that goes around youe wrist that does everything the ring does plus vibrate for notifications and phone calls and it would fly off the shelf again for people that want to aear traditional watches while still being connected and tracking health
Worth noting that BOTH a Samsung phone, and Samsung Health are mandatory if you want to use the ring.
They should change it to Fit Ring since it only tracks health, bpm, fitness, and some other stuffs but cant control presentations

Probably not. It is actually kinda difficult to measure. Even smartwatches can't give you an accurate value (my doctor's speech)
It's a lot more expensive compared to other smart rings. And it doesn't support Samsung pay.
Other rings require a subscription though.

IF I got this, it would be because I need to quit wearing my watch at work. I'm an auto tech. I've been wearing a broken galaxy watch 4 for months. But maybe the ring would allow me to wear it without worrying about the screen? Definitely while sleeping since I can't stand wearing my watch at night, and the battery dies overnight even when in sleep mode(assume I wake it up when I move)

I don't like wearing a watch while sleeping. This is a day one buy for me because of the sleep tracking.

RingConn offers $229 a bit more than half price $399. Their case recharges 18-20 times verses Samsung at 1 1/2 times! RingConn syncs with Google Fit as well. Love Samsung, but this just isn't competitive. The leader of Google was in attendance regarding AI. I wonder why Samsung in their partnership with Google wouldn't offer a direct link to Google Fit. It's important to me because I have to go through Fit to send results out to third parties. This would require a third party app to work between Samsung and Fit. As far as accuracy is concerned, I have seen comments of comparisons to chest straps and other devices to compare results. I didn't see that in the presentation this morning from Samsung.

Google is discontinuing Google Fit now that we have Health Connect, which connects with Samsung Health. What is the problem?
Looks like the only one available is the gold one. Whenever I tried to pre-order a silver or black, I did not get either of the sizing options, only with the gold. Since this is a pre-order, I am not sure why? I was able to pre-order the Watch Ultra though but also want a silver Galaxy Ring.

Paying from the ring is unrealistic, it doesn't have room for NFC chip.

I would love to wear a smart ring instead of a smart watch. I would rather spend the Smart watch money on a non-smart watch which I can keep in my collection forever. Smart watches go useless once the OS update cycle ends. I also hope they won't keep launching a new ring version every year.
