I would like to see a comparison between the Watch Ultra and the Watch 5 Pro.
As some one who upgrades his phone every year, I found no reason to upgrade my 5 Pro to the 7 Ultra. I actually had the original Galaxy watch through 4 generations until the 5 pro came out. I still think the 5 pro looks the best

I'm wondering if there's a pattern here. Cuz remember the Galaxy watch 4 came out and that had a classic version the Galaxy watch 5 hidden than the 6 come out and brought back the classic version but then the seven comes and its digital. Maybe the Galaxy watch 8 or the rotating vessel but if so I'm really not sure why they skip over it. Seems very backwards, considering that's what people know it for.

I have had a Samsung credit account for years I have Samsung washer dryer refrigerator and stove on top of that I have the s24 ultra, Galaxy watch 2 Pro, Galaxy watch 6 classic.. in order to avoid beating up my Galaxy watch on a daily basis I purchased the amazfit T-Rex 2. This opened my eyes massively to the fact that the biggest technology companies in the world are actually holding back Tech in order to drive profit year over year .. my T-rex 2 lasts for over 20 days on a single charge with the always on display.. I still have the majority of Sports sensors I need well obviously not having the latest.. my point is my T-rex 2 is actually a watch that you can wear for 20 days in a row without charging.. this enables you to actually use the Sleep functions .. the fact that Samsung and Apple are claiming that 60 to 100 hours is good for a battery on a smartwatch is an absolute joke! I do like the look of the new Samsung Galaxy watch 7 Ultra but the only way I have to push back against Samsung is not buying their products until they actually innovate! A 650.00 watch should at the very least be able to stay charged for a week at the very least! What are the purposes of sleep functions on a watch that will be on the charger every couple days it's time consumers stop being Fanboys of a brand and actually push back.. if Samsung suddenly stopped selling watches they would do everything possible to get those sales back! At this point they will trickle out tiny updates each model year because they know people will simply buy their new products!
If they give technology all at once, they will have no products to sell in the following years 🙃
I hear you about battery life... Except that it takes minutes to recharge to 100%. It's not a big challenge to figure it out. I mean... Really.
I am long time Amazfit user that switched to Galaxy 5 Pro. While Amazfit has great battery life their OS is the issue at the moment. I don't miss anything about my Amazfit but the battery life, but charging it while showering does the trick to have never missed the sleep tracking on my Galaxy. Maybe Amazfit OS will improve more in 4 generations and then I will change back.
Still using an Galaxy watch 4 classic, and I love it , because it looks just like an classic watch, Idon't like the design of this one, I want something I can have with an elegant outfit

Same size battery as the watch 5 pro and it didn't need the squircle. I'm not totally against it, but I do think the watch 5 pro looks much better and was hoping for the next Gen of that.

If an Ultra came out, I would expect it to be 799 or more easily making for a upgrade at 400 or more. Frankly, the Ultra gets the same battery (590) at the Pro.

They really went to the lengths to build a pretty unique watch face. The proceeded to rip of all the Apple Bands. What the heck Samsung, all you had to do was not copy the bands
It's just the bands who cares... just focus on what you want. This just shows having only 2 companies to compare makes us such sheeps.
Not only that but they replicated "double tap" with their "knock knock" as well as the 85db siren, action button, precision start etc etc etc they basically copied the Apple Watch Ultra and didn't hold back.

@@ConsistentlyAwkward Like you've given up on using punctuation? lol A smartwatch is a smartwatch, just as earbuds are earbuds -- there's little variation or true originality possible in the mainstream tech market. However, I feel there's enough of a difference between Apple's and Samsung's Ultra watches to be able to tell them apart at a glance.
I highly doubt that they decided to look at an old watch they had 6 years later and say "I want to with that design", it's definitely inspired by the Apple watch Ultra. The bands look identical in terms of purpose (alpine, dive and fitness), the action button which they've never had before and apparently the new watch face that I saw on the thumbnail of other videos looks identical to my default AWU that I have. And even the name is copied. "Ultra"? After years of using "Pro"?
Before you come for my head, I have an GW6C and ordered the GW7U, so don't wanna hear it.
For me, the Ultra watch is a nice update and with the usual trade-in (for previous gen watch) and discounts you can already get 200 off here in the UK

That's right, samsung makes it very affordable to trade in, they pay more than any other company for your previous devices. I got a $400 off for pre-ordering with a trade in with my galaxy 6 classic.
I love the look, but would definitely miss the rotating bezel. I have loved the rotating bezel since its inception. I hope they bring it back.

the reason why there isnt a rotating bezel is because its highly water proof up to depts of 100m, the bezel would make a way for water to enter!

They had that type of band attachment system with earlier Wear devices, I eventually bought an adapter to the standard 22mm lugs for more bands.
Would the energy score change during the day, like Garmin's body battery? Or is it a static score?
Can you also test it AOD off but in normal mode? I think a lot of people use it this way, too. Great review and thanks!
Thanks for showing the other available bands, I don't think many other videos did. What are the velcro ones in front of your preferred band, are those just for the regular Watch 7?
Are the software novelties exclusive of the watch ultra, or available for all watches with newer one ui's?
Usually most of the features trickle down. Some don't, especially when they rely on hardware capabilities.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is basically a comeback of the Samsung Gear Sport. Although the Gear sport is way better because the bezel rotates. If that watch was still supported by Samsung it would be a good buy. Design wise not so much software wise 🙂

The problem with no bezel for me has been for swimming. I swim a lot, without a bezel good luck trying to use this watch in a pool. I stopped using my 5 pro in the pool for this reason.
Absolutely agree! Went from the watch 3 to the 5 pro and didn't think sweat and water would be that much of a problem till you're forced to a touch sensitive screen and bezel. 😂
Same here, i use my classic 4 when going to the pool to swim laps, for that one reason.
Had no issues with my active watch 2.
But the tradeoff is a watch which is much more durable, and can be used in more extreme conditions

Love the Panerai sandwich dial look and size. Need some brown leather strap options for it.
If they could give me 3 days of battery I may give it a chance. There's no point in having sleep tracking if I'm having to charge the thing midday just to make it through to the next night or workout. It's a real pain in the ass when the battery life is only one day

I have the 4 classic and I agree. Also, the processor is too weak and it lags way too much. This one supposedly has the power to run smoothly.

It should. Running One UI 6 beta on watch 6 Classic and HRV is supported.
Would expect the 7 series to ship with One UI6.
It runs very well on the 6 Classic. Battery life is way better with second round of beta release.

I placed the order this morning for the Titanium Gray but why does it look soooo dark on your video (vs what is shown at Samsung's website)?? I kinda regret it, and would rather have the Titanium Silver 🤔
Everyone's complaining about it not having a bezel, but I'm glad it doesn't. I have a Watch 4 Classic, and the bezel feels horrible after three years. At least without a bezel, it should have even better waterproofing.
Give it a good clean with isopropyl alcohol and you'll have your smooth bezel back
Indeed, I share the same sentiment regarding the design of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic's bezel. It could certainly benefit from some improvements.
@cybermarco already tried that, I think it's just the parts being worn out and from light water on it.
TBF people renew wearables about every 2-3 years. But it sure is annoying for the bezel to start giving problems this early. I assume it can be replaced, but also imagine it's overpriced. However, I still think the rotating bezel is better to interact with than just a digital screen. It's the whole physical Vs capacitive buttons in cars and other places. Physical is better nearly every time for interacting with the device. This is also why the rotating crown on the apple watch is popular.
@GabrielRM I mean, I have had my watch 4 classic since 2021 when it first came out, so at least this one should be a bigger leap in speed and battery life.
Pretty ironic that the "Ultra" version starts off with a compromised physical feature, the rotating bezel. I'll hold off until they add one to it.
Just ordered this with trading in my galaxy watch 4 classic.. im gonna miss turning the dial to put the volume up and down, it was cool to do in the gym..hopefully other features of the watch make up for it
I really enjoy my Samsung Galaxy watches. I ordered this one today along with the new Fold 6. I think the Ultra looks really cool, and as a person who suffers from sleep apnea I'm excited to use some of the new features.

Honest question. What's making you upgrade? I have a 5 pro and I'm really struggling to make the purchase. I just don't see enough of a difference to justify the like 250 to upgrade from the 5 pro

Two completely different watches. Garmin thumps samsung in fitness and health features as well as battery life and Samsung is better in general smartwatch features

Can confirm the watch 6 battery thing, I did a 12 hour Airsoft game and this could not last for all of it
The bezel makes sense if you are running or any other activity its easier to use the digital bezel because you will know where to place your finger without looking.

meh... for me, I've had several Samsung watches with rotating bezels (including what I'm using now, the Watch 4 Classic) and I never use it... well, when I've tried using it, it tends to be "too" sensitive... I can never get one click to go to the first prompt, always end up going 2 or 3 prompts too far... and I would end up just swiping on the screen instead

@@pontifexinstitute Nah not really. Have an S3 frontier and the bezel been through all sorts of mess as i use it in the military. Still works fine. The 6 classic is holding up just as well.

They are released every 2 years instead of the standard watch. Similar to the classic models also being every 2 years alternating with the pro/ultra.

I had Galaxy Watch, Watch Active 2, Watch 4, Watch 5 Pro and now Watch 6 classic. I love their smartwatch features but the best feature of Watch Ultra is the price - it is so high that it made me upgrade to the big boys level and ordered Epix Pro gen 2. Thank you Samsung

Well, I'd say it totally looks like an apple watch. The squareness, the colours, no rotating bezel. It's going to be a flop like the 5 was. I'd bet they go back to the classic and rotating bezel for the 8. Till then I'll use my classic 4 lol

@@lits5984 a physical bezel doesn't change the shape or form factor Apple has an obvious completely different screen Samsung kept the round screen body wise the galaxy has a square body while apple has a rectangle design I'm not here to try roasting through YT comments just stating the facts the design used by Sam for the ultra already existed with the gear sport. I'm not going to say Samsung was first in the smartwatch game so Apple copied them it would be childish
I was prepared to purchase this, had it in my cart and all, until I found out it lacked the rotating bezel. Maybe some users have experienced issues on other Samsung watches with rotating bezels. I've had every Samsung Galaxy Watch going back to the Gear S3 Frontier and have had _no_ problems with the rotating bezel. I've taken my rotating bezels everywhere, trout fishing in rugged mountain terrain and surf fishing on the New Jersey Shore. Never a problem.

@@Manikanta.Rapolu Sorry, I thought you'd understand my point, please accept my apologies. The ultra is a far more rugged watch designed for sporty people, and made from more durable materials, with a protected, recessed screen, and minus a mechanical bezel, to limit damage to moving parts etc.

Me and my husband have the watch 4 classic and love it but it kinda lost it luster after 3 years we just ordered the ultra and we can't wait for them to get here plus 300 for a trade-in in my opinion is a really good deal

Design is is very ugly to me and battery life is joke, I have Garmin Epix 2 with 18 day of battery life and this watch is 2 years old now, when I buy him a have 20 to 21 days of battery and i meen as smart wach if you use navigation and topo maps it will last much less of course who wants really good watch with everything it's better to buy Garmin then this gimmicky Mickey Mouse funkcion.

Problem with using it for pool swims, with water lock on, you can’t scroll through the available information without turning off water lock, the rotating bezel allows you to scroll without going that one step. Correct me if i am wrong.
On the subject of bands, there ARE 3rd party bands on Amazon, also an adaptor to accommodate the old bands you may have,

As someone else had mentionned, this reminds me of the Panerai Luminor Chrono, which I personally like (looks-wise).
It reminds me, and probably most all who know it, of the Samsung Gear Sport (2017), supersized. Except they removed the turning bezel that the Sport sported.

Coming from the watch 6 classic with a rotating bezel I need clarification do you rotate with your finger on the screen or on the bezel? I know the bezel it's self doesn't rotat.
Both , sort of. The inner edge of the bezel at the very outer edge of the screen .
In my opinion the 3rd button is not in a perfect place. If you wear gloves while working out the button could stop the workouts a lot of times. I am using watch 4 classic and the buttons sometime automatically presses during my workouts from my gloves. Planning to buy one, let's see how's is it going.

Thanks for vid. Imho - bad design, digital bezel - ugh, don't like the strap attachment, because if I understand correctly it doesn't give me the possibility to change to a normal strap.
The limited functionality of the buttons is just mind boggling + the lack of rotating bezel or crown... The fact that Samsung limits this to hold and double press, or, more crucially, that one of the options is not available on the back button for the previous watch models because Samsung Pay is not available in your country is just ridiculous. Artificial limiting of functions. Why can't they enable hold, double and tripple press functions on all of the buttons to do anything or launch any app, not just the couple that they have chosen they want you to use...
I like the look. It's unique. The bands are nice too, it reminds me of the I think it was called the sport watch they had a few years ago.
Only thing missing is the rotating bezel. I'll wait for that

I absolutely love the look. I'm trading in my 6 classic for sure.
There is options for the quick button, one of them is Flashlight.
Also, this watch has the same battery as the 5 Pro. And since this Ultra connects to two satellite's, it's safe to say that doing this will consume more battery.
