In this episode of Rewriting Naruto Sasuke returns to the Land of Crystals with Team Hebi. He's is looking for information on Itachi, but doesn't know Tsunade, Shino, Kiba, Anko, and Kurotsuchi will be there as well.
This Naruto Rewrite continues the Rewriting of Naruto Shippuden, and fixing Naruto in this arc has much more to do with adding more character development and worldbuilding to the story, seeing that it is an original arc. What name do you think this arc should get?

I'm in LOVE with how despite being in the middle of shippuden, with the corresponding huge power, you manage to make them still feel like ninjas. Stealth, planning, misdirection... yes, this is the essence we love.

As someone who likes writing, I agree. I did not really like the Hinata as part of the Root but the explanation was emasculate and made sense. Nobody is ever going to like everything but anyone with taste can appreciate the details.

I need this to help hold me over until after Boruto ends. I really hope that Shonen Jump/Shueisha and Kishimoto make a Naruto franchise equivalent of DB Super/Naruto Part 3 and/or true reboot at some point after Boruto ends.

Imagine seing this animated, or at least with an animatic of it, it would be insanely cool
The best part about your rewrite are these "filler"-type arcs because, unlike in the show, you're taking the time to pay close attention to the characters, their relationships, and the worldbuilding. It makes the main plot feel so much more rewarding because of all the tension and complications you add in the meantime - like Jiraiya maybe being dead and how that impacts Sasuke's bond with Naruto. The only filler in the show I can think of that serves the same function is the Kakashi ANBU arc.
But these last few rewrites have been some of my favorites - I love that despite the power creep, they're still being stealthy and trying to get intel...like a ninja. Even if you don't do these very frequently anymore, they are definitely worth the wait! Hopefully the next one comes soon! Hit the like button everyone!

I never realized Hebi Sasuke suffers from Batman syndrome. Killing people is a no-no because of his trauma, but he sees no problem in beating people to a pulp until they're almost dead.
@@giannixx To be fair Sasuke did ask/order Naruto and Jiraya to leave him alone but they decided they have the moral highground and attacked him. So those beatings were entirely his fault.
@@zillagrilla315 I was talking about canon Sasuke, and more about him beating up those (100?) ninja in his training with Orochimaru, then leaving those prisoners almost dead when he was looking for Jugo.
But hey, there is no moral high ground for Shinobi killing people, it's what they're often expected to do, sometimes even innocents.
I just pointed out that it's a bit questionable for Sasuke to go out of his way not to kill his opponents while at the same time being fine with inflicting them painful and serious injuries, or other kinds of cruelty such as Genjutsu, hence the Batman comparison.
But that is not to say it doesn't make sense, it does because Sasuke is moved by his trauma up until the second fight at the Valley of the End.

You manage to expand upon the characters and plot while remaining true to the essence of the original series. My only "complaint" is wanting Kiba to get a bit more love. Shino and all that cool stealth stuff is nice and all, but... Tenten when?
Personally, the only huge changes to Naruto I'd make come during the kage summit. Susano'o maxes at ribcage and an arm.
Then from there I'd have the 4th shinobi war be the leaf & sand against the cloud & stone. With the mist in civil war, Mei & the new mist vs blood mist loyalists lead by Kisame and maybe a still alive Yagura.
I don't see why the 4th war had to be everybody holding hands against evil bad guy #17 when the internal and international relations of every village was so volatile, would've been so much better if Obito just created the spark to ignite the 4th war and destabilize every village.
It would also force Naruto to be in an interesting position to find peace instead of his motivation becoming finding peace after pain only for peace between the villages to just happen without him.
Also the tailed beasts would remain dangerous beasts whose power can't be relied on instead of retconning them into ninja super saiyan and mech suit power ups.
I'd make some minor character changes, personally I don't see the point in Sasuke wanting nothing to do with Naruto.
They could've still been like brothers without hurting the plot, like if anything Sasuke and Naruto not being cool just made Naruto look pathetic for feining so hard over Sasuke when Sasuke didn't give a shit about Naruto at all.
Oh and if Narutos going to end up with Hinata add atleast a little bit more instead of one confession, a couple seconds of holding hands and then boom, married with kids.
No reason to not add just like a couple scenes of Naruto starting to like her and then them being a couple after the pain invasion.
TL:DR, Don't make the MCs too op after pain, make the 4th war a real continuation/conclusion to the previous ones, fix up unnecessary and awkward character relations and motivations.
All of those changes would even set Boruto up to be a better series, it could show the efforts of Naruto & Sasuke trying to maintain the peace they'd win in the 4th war. You could even have a *slightly* more jaded Naruto accepting that some bad things need to be done to prevent war like the 3rd came to realize before him.

His story is about his family, clan and himself.

Because, if you make this happen, not only Karin will finally learn more about her clan (which is something we all wanted to see in the original series), but seeing Sasuke getting an update on what Kakashi, Naruto, Sakura and Neji had been doing (not counting what the heck Kabuto plans to do with those daggers), learning about Hinata's job as Danzo's personal Darth Vader and interacting with a traumatized and darker Yotsu after the incident with Saksonan/Aki would be absolutely Kino!
P.S 2: Whatever, this can still happen when we get to the rewritten 5 Kage Summit!

and both suigetsu and kisame are mist ninja, they're both fish-man swordsmen, and suigetsu is also kind of a member of the legendary "seven nonja swordsmen of the mist" like kisame is.

I want your opinion on a mad scientist arc. At first I thought of it trying to give a love interest for Shino in the form of a butterfly clan that has weird looks prior to fully developing their wings.
It is sad that their isnt' another mad scientist archtype other than orochimaru
Think of a 2 country alliance because of missing obscure clans and kabuto going there to investigate.
Think a mad scientist trying to make a bijuu chimera of a mythical creature

Idk why I always though that Tsunade can 'cure' her drunkenness state if she focuses on it, guess it made sense in my headcannon. Also Shino, in the way he is and acts would be a more suitable Anbu Root or Anbu leader than Sai is in Boruto now.
Acturally from a light novel(I think it is Itachi shinden and yes it is canon) we got to know Danzou actually wanted to recruit shino for the root but because Shino refused he instead recruited Yoji Aburame

I like how you are showing Shino feeling blue about being lonely and thinking he is going to die alone. So I feel like Shino's love life is going to be explored.
Come to think of it, the Stone Ninjas have those Bee Ninjas whose founder was supposedly the First Tsuchikage in the Fillers. So a possible love interest could be crafted in anyone with a connection and bond to those bee keepers. Since they would have grown accustomed to people with creepy crawlies.

I love how the rewrite understands that the appeal of the Naruto world came from the tactics, misdirections, stealth, and politics that Kishimoto completely dropped the ball on. Sasuke and Shino’s interactions were great to see.
One complaint I do have about this part is about Tsunade being drunk. It makes sense for Tsunade to get plastered when she was a run away in Part One, and it also makes sense if she gets drunk in her home village. I find it hard to believe that a Kage would let themselves get such a large handicap while they are out of the village like this during a mission. Anyone who knows about the meeting might try to assassinate her if they think they are strong enough.
There is a chance we’ll find out later that she’s actually faking being drunk and purposefully didn’t react to the Shuriken since she knew Shino had his bugs on the table/she can easily regen the minor cut. If that’s case, kudos to you and ignore that entire last paragraph. I know I had this same complaint a few chapters ago when Naruto somehow tricked Ibiki while disguised as Yugao, but then we found out that Ibiki knew about the disguise the entire time and let it happen. My respect for your writing skills and understanding of the Naruto world increased a lot after that.

You know that Shinobi have the ability to get sober on command if they need to, and Tsunade is a medical specialist so she can get sober at command, and shino can drain the alcohol how they drain the poison.

@@AK-MS27 Naruto fights had tons of stealth, deception and ambush tactics. It just wasn't the main focus which is okay. I mean even the nature of certain jutsu already tells you what they're for. Hiding in the mist? Hiding in the surface? Shadow clone? Hiding like a mole? Genjutsu? etc. Zabuza's main shtick is literally killing people silently in a mist that he creates. You have guys like Kabuto using jutsu to possess other's dead body and infiltrating highly secured facilities. Zetsu and his shenanigans. Obito and his sheanigans. How do you think Madara lost to Hashirama? Wasn't it a stealthy attack? Madara lost to stealth twice! Kakashi would have merked Kakuzu, while relying on his stealth as the main strategy, if not that the latter had literally five lives.

Dude, Mina didn't consent, and Kiba thought she was consenting, if I were either of them, I'd be royally pissed off at Sasuke. That was a genuinely awful thing to do to both of them.
Pretty sure Kiba would be extremely furious over this ordeal. He non consensually kissed a girl and nearly committed a violation without even knowing. Sasuke did a whole other level of messed up. Thank god he got there in time to prevent something much worse.
