- I created this mix of a custom 22 track multitrack remake I did recently. Everything was done in the box with VST emulations of the synths and drum machines SAW used to produce this track.
VSTs/synths used:
Drums:
-Kick: TR-707 (heavily EQed)
-Snare: Linn9000/Linndrum standard snare
-Claps: Roland TR-707
-Hihat 1: Linn9000/Linndrum (hard panned left)
-Hihat 2: Roland TR-707 (hard panned right, slightly different pattern)
-Cabassa: Linn9000/Linndrum
-Bongo: Roland TR-727
-Sidestick pattern: Linn9000/Linndrum
-Weird percussion rhythm (lol): Roland TR-727 'Timbales' sampled into Fairlight to create a rhythm with 3 different pitches
-Tom fills: Roland Alpha Juno 2 'Electro Drum'
Bass: Custom Sound on Yamaha DX7, derived from the classic 'BASS 1'
Keyboards:
-Main Rhodes sound: Yamaha DX7 'E. PIANO 1'
-Layered pad for Rhodes: Yamaha DX7 'VOICE 2'
-High pad: Roland Jupiter 8
-Synth brass stabs: Roland Jupiter 8
-Layered sound for stab: Yamaha DX7 'PIANO 4'
-Synth bell melody: Roland Jupiter 8
Fairlight stuff:
-Strings: 'LOWSTR7' from factory sample bank
-Horns: Combination of 'HORNENM2' and 'BRASSH1'
-Guitar pluck: taken from the RB stems, I did not have the right samples in CMI V vst.
Originally a Fairlight series III was used. I did not have access to the exact series III samples that they've used with the VST version but came very close with the ones above.
Rick Astley’s angelic and talented singing voice ever…
Bert Steemers, I love this extended version!!
Albeit, GarageBand only lets us go to some certain limit… but… where was your cover made?
The Ultimate RickRoll To Beat All RickRolls! Although the original will remain as the superior meme… but… I love this cover…
The best.
Plot twist: This was the original full version and the version everyone hears (the one from the official music video) was just the shortened mix
Plot Twist 2: Bert Steemers was actually Rick Astley's producer that can time travel and left only the shortened mix to release at that time so he could enjoy the full version himself.
Plot Twist of the "Plot Twist 2": Bert Steemers is actually from the present time and he went back with the tracks synthetized by modern VSTs to complete what was missing in the song back there.
@@raphabmroque i like them both, imagine going back in time and recording a sample of your own voice onto the song then the song gets released with your voice in it lol
I don’t know why, but this sounds sick! (meaning awesome).
Bro, your version sounds even better than the original for me! Awesome work! Congrats
Good job👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
What synth did you use for the JupiterBrass track? Could you send it? It's the correct synth, I've been looking for it for forever!
You mean the sound at 0:50 ? That is the Arturia's Jupiter 8. Comes pretty close to an original Jupiter 8. It is a pretty straightforward saw wave patch with a bit of detune on the 2nd oscillator, nothing too crazy. You have to play with the modwheel for the vibrato effect.
@@bertsteemers5860 Could you send the patch used? I can't seem to find the right preset.
@@bertsteemers5860 “Jupiter 8”… Why is the saw wave keyboard thingy named after a planet or something?
@@bertsteemers5860 Please make more videos…
@@bertsteemers5860 Please. I loved this RickRoll cover.
Do Gangnam Style Synth Remake
Does Gangnam Style even have any 'synth'
@@NinjaBartender Listen for yourself if there are any “synths”…

@@NinjaBartender Maybe you can look up whether or not Gangnam Style has any synthesizers…
THE ONE PIECE IS REAL
*I’m not getting answers. Where did you make the cover* ?
