When Sardonyx's hammer is unsummoned, instead of leaving little magic sparks it turns into butterflies. This is likely two things. 1. Sardonyx is a stage magician. Turning things into a flock of small animals is fundamental. 2. Garnet and pearl both have their fair share of anxieties, and as we see in A Single Thought, Garnet visualizes her anxiety as a group of butterflies.

I think Sardonyx does not try to be vain. You can see she cares when she gets so upset with upsetting smoky quartz that she unfuses. I think her being vain comes from garnets future vision and pearls analytical and perfectionist behavior. Garnet (mostly the sapphire part of her) has had trouble interacting and dealing with situations at times. For example sapphire normally does not get upset and keeps a cool head most of the time compared to ruby. This is because of her future vision. In the show it shows that sapphire has problems dealing with situations in the present because she sees the solution in the future. This combined with pearls analytical side has sardonyx focus on issues or situations intensly with little to no recognition as to what is happening outside of what they are focused on. But all of this combined with pearls perfectionst attitude makes it so that sardonyx tries her best to appear and act the best. With so much attention to focusing on how to make sure she is perfect, it makes sense that sardonyx does not realize what may be going on around her at times. Especially when it comes to others feelings.
My theory is that garnet's future vision allows her to sometimes see a timeline where they are all tv show characters and that's why both sunstone and sardonyx can break the fourth wall.
I believe that sardonyx's anatomy emulates the dragonflies' anatomy Examples: •Her hair(shape)=head •Her glasses =compound eyes •Her 4 arms=wings •Her legs=thorax P. S. What is interesting, is that while they both thinl of themselves highly, which comes from garnet, the things they are most proud of come from the other component. Sardonyx takes pride in her Intelligence and grace, which are traits coming from Pearl, while Sugilite is mainly proud of her strenght, and while Garnet is the strong one among the crystal gems, Amethyst is the one who tends to try make it her thing in most cases, while Garnet doesn't seem to care about her own strenght
I always found Opal to be the "worst" because she's not as interesting as the other fusions, but I don't think any of them are bad, so "worst" is in quotes.

Honestly I think that this is my favorite fusion in the series alongside Garnet. Its definitely my favorite fusion that Garnet has though due to their show-loving personality and the fact that they can break the 4th wall.

Sardonxy and Smoky Qaurtz are one of the most adorable duos imo. Sure it started off bad with Sards accidentally making Smoky feel insecure about their abilities, but now it's like the opposite, with Sardonyx lifting Smoky up. Geez, I wish we got to see these two beans just vibing and being wholesome. 🥹(Or being angsty, I'm fine with either.)
