One of those classics that was a classic when it came out then went on to define PROPER soulful disco. Great songwriting, the musical arrangements, the breaks, it was a story. One of the 100 best of all time for me!!
Everyone forgets that this is the deconstructed way of mixing dance music that Walter Gibbons pioneered in the mid-70s--built around the drum break and instrumental passages, and (often) unused vocal vamps and riffs from the master reels, tossing out the chorus entirely. The songwriters and artists hated it at first, until they saw it sold, and that it filled the dancefloor, and now it's the way that most dance music is made to begin with, and the first way remixes head if it wasn't made that way to begin with.
I get that its not the original. I get it that others love the other remix. But IF YOU CAN'T GROOVE TO THIS DIMITRI MIX HERE.. CHECK FOR A PULSE CHANCES ARE YOUR DEAD. this is just plain ole soul in a basket. I mean i had to take a pause from cleaning and just get down for a second.

Well I came here because on another channel with the full orig. version the comment is disable,I wanted to say what a un relivable pleasure it has been to hear this on a orig. RLA sound system, the one I heard this track on was 2nd only to The Paradise Garage.
Apples and oranges. You’re comparing two completely different remixes. BSO is version is good but it’s very much a 90’s house remix whereas Dimitri keeps it very much disco and does an astonishing job of renovating the classic original, keeping it respectfully intact and still hugely appealing to fans of the original .
Revolution of the OHNONO I agree. Dimitri did a great job. Coming from someone who is not a fan of remixing great classics like this. Very tasteful and respectful of the original.

@@Musicfiend4ever Philly always invented while New York took it, made it their own, and claimed it :)
