So Nicolai takes this a whole step down, but really, who cares. This is a live performance of what I consider to be the most difficult tenor aria to sing , and he was 55 years old here. Absolutely fantastic and orgasmic!
Besides being slower, it has obviously been transposed down a bit, but then again, the three Tenors did that as well, as they grew older... Still, Gedda is the best!

Falsetone, no me gusta ese recurso en este aria utilizada por casi todos los tenores. En la partitura no indica que hay que cantarlo así. Además de estar cantada a tono.

Gedda is one of a kind. I think he owns Lensky's aria, though so many others have done it, and done it well, too.
