Yeah, we have a Porsche specialist in Leeds with a few RBW cars, singers, and full-out race cars. Mostly Singer-based and outlaw-style cars. I cycle passed every few days and walk away from garbage and car storage and car park car. Amazingly, all the same car but the variety is extreme.

You barely see unpainted carbon in the Stinger whereas the Guntherwerks cars I've seen have alot of exposed/tinted carbon. Both are eye wateringly expensive. Do check out Theon Design from the UK. They do similar builds but at like 1/4th the cost.

To drive an air cooled era well, you MUST invest your soul into it and it will show you how to work with it's oddities and deliver a driving experience like no other car can.....and then it will keep asking for more of you. I'm stoked that you recognize the passion and beauty that is a Singer.

As an endurance racer in my free time, I just can’t imagine a rear engine, air cooled 500hp Porsche holding up to any of the abuse I could throw at it, maybe im wrong tho

They smell bad, ride rough, and rattle, just like those old Datsuns, but they go where you point them, immediately. Sure, they're nothing compared to the new ones, or even a new anything, but there's something about them that newer cars just can't match. My mom used to say she could afford to buy one, but not own one. Having owned their cheapest model (924), I know what she meant. The car was $2500 and it ran when I bought it. 2 yrs later I was $6k into it, just to keep it running. FWIW, I miss that piece of shnit.
I feel what Joe is saying. When I was in the Army, my platoon sergeant had this VW Bug with a Porsche engine swap and it wasn't fast at all, but it was such a unique experience. You felt connected to the car and the road even if the handling was really bad. 😅
I've raced 510s for decades. Back in the 80s I drove a Baja Datsun 240Z on the dirt roads above above Rosarito Mexico. With a Nissan Performance factory team engine making 300hp NA and it was gorgeously death defying.
I have a Singer for going on 7 years. It's utterly fantastic. I've put almost 60k miles and l think l love it now more than when it was new. The only thing that's almost as good as driving it it it's attention to detail, every single thing is high quality. I bought the donor car new so it's amazing what they did to it.
I loved the air cooled.. That was my first.. Flying up and down I-5 from San Diego to Portland OR.. Doing 150 up the hills cause the speed traps are on the downhill side. All the twisty roads branching off the I-5 to the coast or eastward.. Good ole days
I had the pleasure of seeing one in person, and i could see the carbon weave under the paint, it was so cool. the tail lights are pure art. thing is probably a dream to drive
These guys are funny to listen to, especially when talking about the cooling.... air cooled Porsche cars actually have an oil cooler like a radiator in front and long pipes that carry the oil to the front and back, making them air/ oil cooled
I love my cayenne, one thing Ive noticed in a Porsche is that all the material is quality material, from the buttons to the engine, the seats everything is tough, looks and feels quality, buttons don't move or raddled etc the gadgets, the electronics, sorry first time Porsche owner.

Porsche worked on 4 valve heads in the 60s and I think they rallied them, but the problem was that they couldn't make it work well enough with air cooling.
I think a lot of companies make it so obvious like liberty and rocket bunny for example all they’re bolt on style kits I’m pretty sure is what really made the widebody kit so popular I think people like the visible bolts maybe I’m wrong but when I see a car with visibly bolt on wide fenders I love it idk why it just screams widebody even just trucks when they have square fender flares I like the exposed bolt on style over the body molded style of fender extensions.

My uncle Phil used to own Klub Sport Racing, and he's owned everything from 356's to 962's. More fun than buying gold. LOL! Look up Gunnar Porsche, and the Porsche 966... Cool story.

Matt said that no power steering with a front engine car is harder. I had a 1968 BMW 1600 with a highly modified 2002 engine in it. It was a little rocket and I had no problem steering it with no power steering. I miss that car:(

1987 Ruf CTR Yellowbird claimed 467hp but regularly made 500hp on dynos. Unfortunately they only built 29 of them.
Turbocharged. The whole point of the new Singer engine is to get 500 normally aspirated horsepower, to create the ultimate driver's car.
The ctr 2 gives me automotive hardons. So fast. So pretty. The yellow bird was way ahead of its time.
