You may already know this now, but Guilford County is the Greensboro area and Forsyth County is the Winstom-Salem area. From what I've heard, both areas are great places to live. They're like the Raleigh and Durham of the Piedmont/Triad region of NC.

In the same way that Wake County is physically larger and should hold more people than Mecklenburg, the same is true for Charlotte and Raleigh. Charlotte has a bloated city limits size. Raleigh cannot annex that much additional land to ever catch up to that land size, and will always be the second largest city proper in the state.

That’s fair. However, if Raleigh utilizes the land correctly and include more apartments complexes (already happening) or multi family units then it may be possible to exceed Charlotte but only time will tell so we shall see.
