Pattern Utility, Modify, then Transpose. Set Bias according to how many semi tones you want to go up or down. Make sure the bubble has pattern selected. Then hit execute. That pattern for the corresponding instrument should be transposed.
06:57 actually you don't have to press the star to give it a rating, just turn the knob under the number to give it a star rating. What the star button does is simple filter out everything you didn't give a star yet from the tone bank you are in. Did you know you can also give Scenes a star rating ? If you select a schene and press the edit button on screen you can give the scen a star rating or another color even.
Transpose ... go to system menu / sound / Master Key Shift ... I believe that is waht you are looking for. Not 100% if it will transpose a recorded song though. But worth checking out. I think it's set in half notes / semitones. Once set you should be able to use the transpose button. But again, not 100% sure it will transpose recorded songs, might be it will only transpose what is played. Also not 100% sure if the transpose button is the same as the menu. Maybe the transpose works for stuff you play, and the other one for recorded stuff ? Havn't really used that yet.
I purchased a Roland Fantom 06 about 6 months ago and still to this day have not used it. I’m a Las Vegas Dj. I also own a Yamaha DX7, Roland D-50, and the powerful Krog Wavestation EX.
You will find many classic D-50 sounds are also included on the Fantom-O btw. With its ability to sample- perhaps you could find a way to put it to good use 😉
Dave please could you tell me if the following use method is supposed to work on Fantom 07. I just bought it and struggling. I’m setting up scenes per a song. Each scene has the instruments needed for that song. If it includes organ I put it in zone 2. Then I see all volumes to zero except the starting instrument and all zones on. I like to play it in zone view mode with 4 or 8 trackers showing and use the volume sliders to bring in and out the sounds. Will this work? I’m getting some success but getting a whole lot of anomalies. For example turning off a zone does not silence it. Turning off the first zone silences all the zones. Sometimes two zones act together like one. Both on or off. Might you clarify how it was designed to be used for live play in a band with multiple sounds? Thanks
Hmm, in which bank are you setting up your scenes? I recommend using only bank D and leave A-D alone for expansion sounds etc - if you are trying to set up a new scene over an existing scene it could be giving you some of those weird anomalies that were preset with the previous scene. You should be able to create a custom scene with different instruments in each zone, and adjust volume independently for each of them. Zone 1 should not control zone 2 or three unless you link them together as one combination. Also, double check that your using the zone select switch - I hope this helps. I will fiddle with mine and see if I can recreate this. Good luck 😉
Hey..thanks for this useful tutorial...I have a question, I'm a player who most often plays by splitting bass on th left nd piano on the right..is it possible to sequence the drums to a song nd then on stage have this drum track played back live and simultaneously let me play along with this piano bass split?
No trick, just double check your keyboard connections/cables and speaker connections etc- are you hearing sound through headphones? Double check the connections in the back of the keyboard- I once had my cables plugged into the “sub-out” accidentally. Use main outs.
The Fantom does have some wonderful pipe organs - I just didn't include them in the demo for this video. I like Pipe Organs myself, but I do know some worship leaders/etc. who loathe them! lol! To each his own.
yes you can, I discovered that later on after I did the video, with help of another enthusiast - I'm so used to Korg's method of setting it up it is just so much more intuitive to me, other than a few weird things like that - I love the Roland.
@@DigitalDoxology I have a question. Have you ever used your sub outs for a personal monitor separate from the mains? Since the Fantom 0 has a mixer and sun outs I was thinking I’d be able to ditch the external mixer for my monitor. Thoughts?
I like that you showed how to use the Fantom for a player. Too many vids are technical on editing topics. Not many vids for how to use it to play.
Thank you 😊

Thank you for posting this, another very informative and helpful video.

I understand exactly where your confusion lies with the zones, and this video answers precisely your question: ua-cam.com/video/kQgV5t9GGfA/v-deo.html

Is there a trick to the settings for connecting powered speakers? I can’t get any sound at all out of mine!

No pipe organs? Or is it pop music church?
The Fantom does have some wonderful pipe organs - I just didn't include them in the demo for this video. I like Pipe Organs myself, but I do know some worship leaders/etc. who loathe them! lol! To each his own.
Couldn’t you just line up all those scenes to the scene chain?
