ive been running a sabbat campaign since the late 90s....its still going. we use what we call "3.5" its 3rd edition with all the 3rd edition books leading up to gehenna, but we never make it out of the 90's. every year is 199x. Bill Clinton's still the president, 9/11 hasnt happened and the world exists as it did when i was an edgy teenager. http 1 internet exists, schreknet's still around. early cellphones exist (nokia 8110), texting exists, but it takes longer because you have to spell everything using the 12-key, also there are pagers and payphones. our nosferatu even has a weird cobbled-together motorcycle helmet with nokia guts wired into it and it has a text-based web browser. im not super happy with the direction that v5 has taken sabbat so we'll just continue to use the old system... besides, what the heck am i gonna do with all these regular d10s? interestingly enough, i was not even aware that they did anything past gehenna in the lore because the next book i got was requiem and it was a reboot. i sort of noped out and told my players we'd continue using the old system. i didnt know they even did a release before v5 going back to the old lore. its funny, players move in and out of the campaign as the years go by. players that have quit the hobby are immortalized as npcs. some of my current players were not even alive yet when the campaign started. we're nearing a time where the children of the original cast of vampires will run into the npcs of the characters their parents played. in our little bubble, though the storyteller and original cast have aged, their characters, like the true vampires they are, will never grow old. not sure how much this pertains to the video, but thought i'd share.
That is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing that with us. I whole heartedly believe that we should play the systems that we prefer. If you don't like a thing, why would you adopt it? Your decades spanning story sounds amazing and the fact that you have legacy players is wonderful. My 17 (18 is a few months) son and my godson (also at an appropriate age) have now joined my table and seeing them interact with storylines I've been running for years is an amazing feeling. Thicker Than Water was created back in 2005 and they weren't even a thought yet. I'm so happy you have that kind of living story and thank you again for sharing it. I hope your game keeps going and the stories you provide continue to entertain.

Badr Dawn and I write back and forth together in Arabic.
ive been running a sabbat campaign since the late 90s....its still going. we use what we call "3.5" its 3rd edition with all the 3rd edition books leading up to gehenna, but we never make it out of the 90's. every year is 199x.
