I totally agree with Danielle’s interpretation of creative block. The ebb stage of the creative process is so important and although you don’t think that anything is happening, your creative process is doing something. The ebb, from my experience is an integral part of cycle that allows the creative surges and outputs to organically settle… it separates the water from the oil. You can then recycle what you want if you pay attention to the different qualities or lessons from the previous creative output’s within the substance of water (inner-spirit & understanding) vs., the substantial oil, the physical product you created. It’s the stage of the creative process to digest what has happened. The stage that solidifies what is left that is important to your process. The ebb grounds what you created and makes it part of you. Without letting your creative activities settle, you can’t truly be open or ready to engage in the next stage of inspiration that elevates your practice to the next level.
The ‘ebb’ has felt like a scary place, but Spirit is guiding me in how to appreciate it as an integral part of flow. This is such a Lovely interview. ❤
Wonderful podcast…I cried several times bc of the resonance of what was being said. I am also a life long seeker…and I feel like I am trying to “paint” and “sing and compose” into what I am seeking….I love the Rumi quote…”what you seek is seeking you”….
I will be watching this over and over; so rich!!!! Thankyou for taking me to church🙏 Danielle, you’re such a deep thinker. I appreciate the effort in learning to speak your truth. Bravo!
I love this and I definitely aim to live within intentional simplicity. At the same time, I have beenin the midst of letting go of lack mentality and impoverishment mind set, which has had a stronghold on my psyche That mindset has been an unfortunate through line in about every aspect of my life, and sometimes the topic of letting go can activate this Idea that I am not allowed to have (whatever it is). I love shoes and beautiful clothes. so I won't bet purging it all. LOL. I will say though, that I aim to only buy what I love and I do't believe if I have had something for more than a year, then it is dead weight. Some things are worth keeping. I am not afraid to purge though and it is definitely time for me to go through my closet and let go of what is not working. I love the idea of blessing everything and will be adopting that. I too am not afraid to paint over something , I may do this more than necessary at times, but I believe in the process and if nothing else I do believe in my artwork. Sometimes I have to destroy the most beautiful aspect of a painting if the whole is not working with it. That always pains me a bit, but I ultimately do it and something always comes from it. Everything has value, but nothing is too precious.
Wow! Amazing talk. Currently doing a super clean of my studio in preparation for a fresh new body of work. This talk was the perfect reminder of all that is important to me in Art/Life. Thank you for sharing so deeply and openly 💖
All of these podcasts that are so beautifully curated and real, soulful, that transcend time and space too often are disrupted by super abnoxious, body-jolting and disturbing ads that come from an energy so unlike what the podcast is about. Unfortunately I need to stop watching because of this. It’s so disappointing.
You could become a paid UA-cam member and get 0 ads so you never have to give up on a video again. I get your frustration. I watch enough YT that not having ads is a must. If you really enjoys his vids, go paid. I think it’s $15/mo now.
Another inspiring conversation. I loved Danielle’s mention of Agape and Michael Beckwith at the end…I’m a big fan! Too much stuff is so draining on every level and something that’s an ongoing issue in my life. I live in a really small condo and need to be ruthless about purging…it’s a huge challenge. The universe is so gracious to keep encouraging me through conversations like this! Thanks to you both. 🙏🫶

Whew, this is really important, thank you
Thank you🙏 I loved every bit of this interview 🩵
I share Danielle's life style, I love purging "stuff".
❤
Wonderful interview, far too many ads though (even though we can skip), please look into that, very distracting.
