I like their natural approach to growing their mango trees.. That's what is all about, we don't need those harmful chemical to grow our foods and even to us humans and animals.. Nature will do its work! 😊
Beautiful to see father and son work together with similar passions! Thanks for info. I have hundreds of mango trees!
Thank you, Pete!! I always enjoy the wisdom and knowledge Dr. Campbell and Ian put out. It reminds me of the apple growers in Aomori, Japan that I used to visit and watch them as they tended the groves. Most of the trees were just at my head level (5-6 feet) and packed close together. They tipped and removed the limbs, also. Some of the groves would go for volume, and others would thin the blossoms to produce the Gem Quality fruit. I am using Dr. Campbell's techniques on my mango trees. Production was so much last season, I had to make a structure to support the limbs so the fruit wouldn't touch the ground. Thank you again!
We had the good fortune of meeting and listening to dr Richard Cambell. He is really the Mr Mango. A lifetime of experience in creating varieties and making bushes. Very productive.
Thanks for the video watching the mango masters at work. What an awesome guy not scared to show and tell his trade secrets.
really nothing secret about it , but nice to have the visual for new learners
Dr Campbell is an awesome teacher! I’ve learned so much from him over the years.
So nice to see someone say you don't have to use chemicals.
Impressive demonstration
always happy see and hear mr.Richard... the mango master.
I saw him so many time and always learn tons info. Thanks Pete
Merci pour ces précieuses explications , vous êtes des pros et vous aimez ce que vous faites . Bonne suite .
Dr. Campbell is the O.G. One of his videos helped me on my mangoes trees and the production went way up.
Serious gangster! 👊
@@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL yes yes for sure when Dr. Campbell speaks I listen... also I got to tell you your videos are gold..I live in South Florida homestead Redlands area hopefully by the end of this year we'll have our nursery set up for gardens and vegetables for consumption and for the local farmers market there's always something in your videos that I can turn around implement for myself thank you so much for the excellent content always
My father also wore a dashiki, my friend. The pictures are quite famous. The cap, the cigar.
Thank you! May the blessings of God be upon the fruits of thy garden!
A happy dog, well tended in the beautiful sun will bark! That is in the nature of a dog! It needs no excusing. My appreciation is for everything that you carefully tend. For those with eyes to see, ripeness screams beauty, such as the dog!
I love to see a man weed for the roots to gather some shine!
Great tip man! Proud of you 👍🌱 Can’t wait to see ya mango grove making lots of fruit.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. There is nothing like a mango
🙌
Great quality video Pete, good to see another video with Dr Campbell along with Ian Cambell this time, thanking them both for giving up their time to educate us all on youtube. Explaining how and where to make incisions for your budwood is key for many people learning or wanting to turn an unproductive Mango tree into a tree that will at some stage be producing.
Good to see that there are people in the world like Pete Kanaris and the Campbell family that are trying to educate and also save some of the lesser known varieties of Mango from extinction.
Thanks you 🙌
Proud of you dr campbell
Thank you for this filming this fascinating and incredibly informative video! Thank you to Dr. Campbell for sharing the knowledge.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very interesting !
Thank you for sharing this knowledge
Hey Pete loved the video! Dr Campbell is the master of mangoes.
Thanks! No one better in my opinion 🙌
I am in Southern California and I have two mango trees ...I used to have three of them but I made the mistake of giving one to somebody who really didn’t care for it ...so it died...as far as my trees I started them from seed and to my surprise they started producing fruit after about 6 years not only that but the mangoes that I got from my trees are almost as good if not identical as the ones that I used as seed...they weigh 32 oz. and they are sweet...they came from Mexico and I don’t know the variety....
I love you guys. Thanks for good work
That shirt is tropical! - Reminds me of Africa
Great informative video on Mango growing thank you
Thanks for sharing your knowledge Abt mango trees.
Great video! I'm impressed and I'm from the Caribbean which has an exceptional climate for growing these plants. Unfortunately, I haven't seen or eaten half of what you just featured. I am now inspired to track down these seeds. Thank you!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed 🙌
I love organic produce 👍👍👍🌱🌳

Hello Pete,
Thanks for covering the top work of a NDM into Venus cultivar. If you do another video at Dr. Campbell's grove in future, please update that bark grafting. I'm curious to see what really happened to those Venus Scions.
Yes Will be wonderful to see outcome of the grafting.
This is awesome. Thank you

I love this time of year when you can get your cutting done and be rooted by may June to hand out to the neighbors and people strolling by the house. ❤️😎

Thank you you so much. I’m very excited to find your channel. I’m here in so. California. What varieties do well in 9b?
Very nice.
So awesome to see that you dont use any commercial fertilizers...
I'm in citrus county and i've been dreaming of learning more grafting techniques and sub-tropic forestry...do ya'll need extra hands?
great information thank you
Glad it was helpful! :D
Thank you
Great video. Looking for the best variety for Orlando area that flowers late, escaping windy/cold weather that usually hits Central Florida in Jan/Feb
So that tree becomes a new variety? That’s interesting!
Yup! Just like that you can change varieties.
I would Love to live in a place i could grown Mangos! Ain't nothing like a Fresh Ripe Mango! 😁 Very interesting!
Florida mangoes are next level! You should visit this summer 🙌
@@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL We are planning on coming to Florida (for a wedding) but not till late summer. I'm sure they are amazing! Fruit always taste better closest to the source! 😁
Brilliant
Good job mister
Great video guys....Is the low production of the tree that you have re grafted with another variety because of its Variety itself or the Scion and rootstock also?
Great video! I live in Homestead, and would love a tour of your orchard. Do you give tours?
Great video
Thanks 🙏
fantastic , all i can say
Great video! In SE Florida when would you say is the latest you would tip mangos so they have time to recover for blooming season? End of September? They still have October for one more flush?
for a novice mango grower in s.florida, how do you know if your "tipping" off a tip that will flower? thanks
Respect 👍🏼
Thanks for sharing! Which variety is harvested during winter time or close to it?
Nice !!!😎😎😎! I’m Waiting on warmer weather here in socal to graft some Saigon mango scions I got from usda-grin global over in Florida
Oh nice!
Pete Kanaris GreenDreamsFL yea man right from the usda germplasm repository, wouldn’t go anywhere else for scions, Check them out !
It’s amazing to see how urushiol has no effect on some people. If I start cutting up mango trees and handling them like that my entire body would be covered in rashes and blisters. It’s a shame because I always have to be extremely careful when picking mangoes. Keep up the good work guys 👍🏻
Have you shown in any of your videos how your trees bore 150lb fruits?
Thanks Pete. Very informative. Is there a way to buy mango seeds and Ship them to Canada?
I like your west African shirt.
Hi ! Is there any temperature minimum during mango flowering session ?
I have a tree that’s a bit taller about 8yrs old. I like the shade it provides but not much fruit, can I cut my tree higher to keep the height but graft with a better sire? Thanks
Very useful grafting information, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Dr. Nandeeshaiah Bettadahalli, Karnataka, India.
I have my mango farm of about 550 trees and having more than 18 varieties.
Thanks for a most informative video, Dr Campbell.... I learnt a lot
Peter I hope my Dad was watching your videos he would have eat my head to visit you. Anyhow if you get a chance visit India Goa in May and I like you to try Mancurad mango and if you can bring some and plant in Florida you will be thankful to me.
250 on 1/2 acre wow. I'm thinking of 10ft spacing due to being in a colder area. Then I have more greenery in case of freeze burning off some of the tops.
Thanks Dr, Campbell for the tips. Can you please clarify about your statement that tree trunk/wood is Nitrogen? All I have know from my little reading is that wood is Carbon and green leaves are Nitrogen. Thanks Pete for sharing the video.
You have clearly misinterpreted what he was talking about
Hello Dr. Campbell, I would like you to come to Goa, India and try our mangoes, especially a variety called Mancurado. This time of the year is the mango season. See you someday in Goa👍. Until then adeus! Até já
Is this possible to all fruit trees by maintaining a small size tree? This Dr. knows how nature works, who doesn't follow any poisoning methods, and this kind of info/influencer I would love to follow. Thank you!
I have a seed grown mango plant about 7ft height. I'm planning to graft on one of it's branch and keep the other one to grow and produce, so I could have two varieties on one plant. Is there any technique I should follow to get the growth to the grafted branch. Since I am keeping the other branch will the whole growth go that way and keep the graft inactive. Let me know if there is any vedios or articles on this case. Thankyou for your help and support on grafting technique. Have a great time ahead.
Thank you for sharing your experience! What about mango trees in pot? Do we follow the same rule, tipping and pruning?
Yes, definitely. It’s even more important when kept in a container.
Top Work Too That Dirty Top Soil! Soil it Don't Spoil It! Would Dr C say keeping the pruning up and the tree.s smaller means bigger yields? Obv easier to harvest them..... Cool Stuff!
Awesome informative video, really appreciated. Thank you!
Because of my inexperience, I overwatered my avocado tree and it died ( or so I thought) from root rot. Months after I stopped watering it I realized that it was actually alive and had started growing up from the very bottom, since the rest of the tree (graft included) is dried. The new branch is about a foot below the grafting. Do I need to graft it again?
Thank you!
Yes you would need to re-graft onto that root stock.
@Pete Kanaris GreenDreamsFL that makes sense. Thank you! 😊
How do you “breed” mangoes , creating new varieties?
do you prune and tip trees that have fruit on them
Hey, will this Pruning & Tipping all through the year work for a 20-25 year trees also, which are 12-15 feet high? Can we reduce it to 7-8 feet as mentioned by Dr. Campbell?
Thanks.
I have the same question? Can we cut the top off of the trees?
Wow!
What about fertilizing for a mango in a pot, would that be a no as well?
What are alternatives to that white substance used?
Do you spray for anthracnose, powdery mildew and black spot? What do you use? Looking for recommendations. Also, looking for recommendations for the best varieties obviously for taste and texture but also disease resistance. Boca Raton area, 6 miles from the beach. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
When was this video / top-working done? Believe Dr Campbell said the best time for grafting is mid-summer, or anytime when night time temps above 70. In FL right now, February... night temps well below 70.
This was done in July
Wonderful. Precise location and necessity to top work such grown up mango trees. If possible kindly tell all the varieties in the grove please. Regards from India possibly the originating subcobtinent and largest producer of mangoes. Keep it up. God bless. 👌👍❤️🙏🙏
What type of grafting wax do you use?
Bagus sekali.....
God i love mangoes!!!
WOW!!!!!👍👍
Thanks. But I didn't understand white paste used here during grafting.
Hello Sir,
I have 4 year old mango plant which is 6 feet tall without any branch. How can I prune it now? I was not aware of pruning.
Will it harm if I cut it in mid for new shoot?
can i use this crafting method on mulberrys?
