I bought an orange super crush 100 and the 2 weeks later i bought this amp. All I can say is it blows the doors off of the orange in the gain department without even trying.
At my rehearsal space I play a Leeds 150 going through a 2x12 Vox cab loaded with a Fane and a Creamback. Louder than I’ll ever need. I’d compare it to any of my 50 watt tube heads in terms of volume.
My main band is straight ahead rock n roll. We do a few zeppelin covers and it does Jimmy page perfectly. The only pedal I use with it is a Marshall Bluesbreaker. It also has really nice cleans. It replaced my VOX ac30 in the studio for that. The clean channel is a great pedal platform for really hi-gain distortion if you like pedals.
Super Leeds 150 owner here (just posted a demo also). from Arv Hiwatt's reply on the Gear Page: There'll be a proper press release coming soon, but essentially we took all the good bits of the old Crunch Series and made a few adjustments; improved clean section to take pedals even better, actually removed a little gain from the overdrive section which helped keep clarity on both gain channels, improved fx loop, installed an fx loop in the 50 which for some reason didn't have one(!?) and upgraded a few components to increase stability.
@@alilhouston About a week ago I went ahead and ordered the Leeds 150 head along with one of their SE212F cabs since Hiwatt's custom shop in Toronto didn't have any HG212s. I received the head already and I love this thing! The clean channel actually *will* break up but you have to run the amp hard - I have used an attenuator to do that - a Rivera Rockcrusher - but this attenuator can only take 120 watts RMS, so I don't run the amp master past 12 o'clock. The second channel is like a JCM800 but ballsier, and it can do pretty convincing "classic" gain if you roll the gain on the amp down a bit and roll your guitar's volume down appropriately. By the way, did I mention this amp is LOUD?? I have been running it at moderate volume into the octapulse speaker in my old Hiwatt T20 combo and it absolutely rips. My cab is supposed to arrive today and I am SO excited! AHGHHHHHH

How loud is your 150? Enough to keep up with a loud drummer or you think the 300 is better for that?

Never once do I ever hear a mid-boosted lead sustain sound. Always chugging, always scoopy.
A great lead batch, with some great soloing would be nice..
These Leeds series amps sound great. Are there any design differences between them and the Crunch series?
Also, what cab is this going into?

Great lead tone with some soloing and/or a real versions of some heavy riffs. A tele is doing it for no one besides the Oasis hanger on's

How do you utilize the headphone jack? Would you use it without a speaker connected?
Anyone know the weight of this head?
More terrible tones and crappy type of music HIWATTS are so much better than these demos
